Of that which happened to a King and Three Impostors.
Prince Don Juan Manuel

Prince Don Juan Manuel was a Spanish nobleman who lived from 1282 to 1347. After many years in public life including taking part in rebellion and civil war, he retired and took to writing. Of his fifteen known works, only eight survuve, and the best known (or least unknown) is Count Lucanor, or "The fifty pleasant stories of Patronio," a collection of moral and homely tales. This tale is the seventh of the fifty and will be instantly recognised as the source for Hans Christian Andersen's The Emperor's New Clothes.
