"Why did you even come back here?" Mason's words were slurred, falling off his tongue with bitter disdain. Until that morning he had never expected to see Roxanne again, and over the years he had convinced himself that he hadn't wanted to. Never would he have ever guessed that she was the one his father had hired as his new personal assistant. "My life stopped revolving around you when you cheated on me." Roxie spat back instantly. "You know, mere weeks before we were suppose to be married? I don't need to answer to you." She took hold of the door, moving to slam it in his face. She couldn't believe he had the audacity to show up at her apartment in the middle of the night, completely intoxicated, to antagonize her. Mason moved quickly, blocking the door with his body, surprising them both that he hadn't landed on his face. "Mason, get out before I call the police." Mason's eyes narrowed at her, glaring. Before he could process what he was doing he had her pressed against the back of the door, his hands on either side of her face. "Fuck you, Roxie." His lips crashed to her's, sloppy and uncalculated, but she didn't resist. A reluctant moan passed her lips and her fingers dug into the expensive fabric of his Armani button up shirt.
