Paul groans in pain and agony. "It's burning." "Silence!" Reverend Mother snaps at him. His mother, Lady Jessica whimpers, shivering with anxiety as she stood outside the waiting chamber, muttering the litany she lived by. "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration." She says, raising her head to see the Duchess approaching her with a questionable glare. "Your G-grace." Jessica stutters, swallowing the bile in her dry throat. "Where is Paul?" Alicent demanded. Jessica bleached, blocking the path. The only noise between the Duchess and the Lady were the screams of Paul echoing from the library. Emperor Shaddam is threatened by Leto's rising power, and somehow intends to diminish his family and destroy him. Duke Leto is summoned to govern Arrakis by the order of the Emperor, and immediately, the entire household moves out of Caladan to another world. Paul Atreides arrives on Arrakis after his father accepts the stewardship of the dangerous planet, much to the dismay of his stepmother, the Duchess Alicent Hightower. However, chaos ensues after a betrayal, forces clash to control melange, a precious resource, known as Spice. House Atredies is annihilated, but only two members of the family survives. Paul rises to power among the Fremen, whom he finds to be fierce fighters whose skills and numbers are underestimated by the Harkonnens. A romantic spark engulfs between Paul and Yuna, but it goes south when the "Kwisatz Haderach" Paul, discovers that Yuna isn't a Fremen but the first born daughter of Emperor Shaddam Corrino and the late Empress Edwina Richese, the heiress. Paul the Fremen guerrilla "Muad'Dib," soon manages to lead the Fremen in a widespread challenge to the Harkonnens' control of Arrakis.
