For as long as he's known "Sally Face," hes has an emotionless white and pink face with the holes of his eyes being the only peak into his humanity. The eerie mask was all Travis saw of the boy for a long time. Getting to know the boy he found out why the prosthetic was worn and how it was not just some gay fashion statement. But even as he got friendly, or more than friendly, with Sal, he didn't see under the medical device until after high school Sal had never shown his face purposely to anyone, most the time it was on accident. With Travis he specifically wanted to show the horror that is what was left of his face. He trusted Travis and wanted to take that step in their relationship. But after he did, nothing changed, whenever he was with Travis he was still covered. Sal hated the way he looked, he barley had his prosthetic off when he was by himself, much less with his friends or family. This fact was one that Travis hated. Travis is determined to help Sal feel more comfortable in his own skin. Feel more confident without his mask, whether it was when he was alone or accompanied by his boyfriend.

Kenneth Phelps is the lead priest at the local church and has strict rules for his family. This leads to his son Travis Phelps to hate his whole being. His problems with his father are bad but he gets to escape at school being the one who pushes people around. Until he meets Sal Fisher or "sally face" a boy with a mask who Travis often fantasizes about despite thinking it's a sin. Due to his love hate for Sal he bullies him and his friends. But Travis and sal get to know each other better and Travis might find someone who is worth sinning for. Sal fisher or "sally face" just moved to the Addison apartments over the summer. He met Larry Johnson his now best friend who introduced him to all his friend's. When school started everything was going smoothly until Travis Phelps the local priests son started bully Sal and his friend's calling them homos and an array of awful things. Despite Travis awful attitude towards sal and his friend's sal tries to befriend Travis and get to the core of his problems After they get close sal might just help Travis find someone who is worth sinning for. Travis grew up knowing a couple things. One of those things was that being gay was a sin, and that if you were gay, or anything like that, you're going to hell. Or at least, that's what he was told. But after an incident with Sal in the boys washroom, Travis starts to think that he might have been wrong the whole time. Just a quick warning, this is a pretty heavy story and contains things like abuse (both verbal and physical), drug use, suicidal thoughts and attempts, slurs and swearing. I'm adding trigger warnings but read carefully, don't force yourself to read anything you don't want to :) Otherwise enjoy the story!

Sal screamed so loudly that it hurt Travis's ears and echoed in his head for several minutes after it had finished. The sound was unlike anything he'd ever heard on TV, unlike anything he'd ever made when his father beat him. It was visceral, primal. Filled with the most basic of instinct from any living thing: fear. A kind of it that was so deep, it lacerated Sal's vocal cords as it tore through his stomach and out of his throat, loud enough to reach heaven, desperate enough to be a prayer. It was the sound of death. ========== Sal can't find his anxiety medication on the fourth of July. He subsequently proceeds to have one of the worst breakdowns he's ever had in Nockfell, directly in front of Travis Phelps.
