Meet seventeen-year-old Chris Wilson, a shy, somewhat unconfident young man who lives in the city of Rowdale with his mother, Loretta, who has been a widow for five years, since the night her husband and Chris' father, Aaron, was gunned down and killed during a robbery at a local gas station. A senior at Rowdale High, Chris is a frequent victim of the intimidating Jason Eastman, who's been a major pain-in-the-behind to him since freshman year. Also, Chris has his eyes set on an attractive classmate, the gorgeous Julia White, with whom he shares Economics class. When Chris finally musters the courage to approach Julia for the first time - thanks to a little nudge from his friend, Gerald Sanders - things don't turn out as well as he hoped.
Then, when a raging thunderstorm targets Rowdale and the rest of Grandwood County, Chris ends up caught in the crossfire when a lightning bolt unexpectedly strikes him directly in the chest. Miraculously, instead of landing him in critical condition or even killing him as such an incident normally would, it turns out the lightning apparently has triggered something inside the teenager, and then Chris soon discovers his body has changed in ways unimaginable.
Meanwhile, Eric Richardson has been fired from Grandspeed AutoLand, the automobile repair shop he's worked at for eight years. Depressed, the grumpy thirty-two-year-old ex-mechanic spends the majority of his time drowning his sorrows and recklessly driving around the town in his convertible. When he wounds up in a wooded area miles out of town, an encounter with a meteorite grants Eric the opportunity to turn his life around, as well as inflict retribution on those who have wronged him.All Rights Reserved
