On February 22, 2017, NASA revealed the existence of seven Earth-sized planets around a red dwarf star in the constellation of Aquarius, which is located 39 light years from Earth. Because of their relatively small sizes, these planets might not only be Earth-sized but also Earth-like. This raises the tantalizing possibility that life exists on these planetary systems. In the Ruins of Our Splendor is a story that takes place on the Trappist-1 solar system and tells the tale of a group of unlikely heroes as they set out to discover the secrets of their past, present, and future. This portion of the story takes place on the planet called Trappist-1e, which is the fourth planet on this Red Dwarf solar system. It follows a boy named Gandos as he is unexpectedly thrown into a journey across the mysterious planet. I try to stick to the science as close as possible, but given that we know very little about these new planets, I do (and will) take some creative liberties. Please bear in mind that this is a work in progress, and if you see some mistakes and inconsistencies, don't be shy and let me know in the comments. This story is yours as much as it is mine. I would appreciate your help in making it the best story it can be. So without further ado, grab a nice cup of your favourite beverage and join me in this grand adventure in a galaxy not so far away...
