I'm bad at descriptions so it's probably best to read It is Enjoltaire, modern high school. Grantaire is an art student, Enjolras moves to his school to escape his old life after being disowned by his parents and bullied. He meets the Amis and soon becomes their leader. When he gets tired of Combeferre and Courfeyrac's couch he ends up moving in with Grantaire.

A short story about Grantaire and Enjolras. Grantaire had never been very confident or outgoing, and lately his life has been kind of rough. His parents died and gave all their money to his sister, and he lost his job in the matter of a week. So it was not uncommon for him to be hanging around a bar trying to drink away his problems. At first his drinking wasn't an issue, but soon his life loomed over him like an old rotting willow tree.
