Hurley Bendric is among one of approximately 3.2 million Americans diagnosed with schizophrenia, and one out of 72 patients who reside in ward PICU at Nevada State Hospital. Tucked away and out of sight in the rural mountains known as Winterpark District, the historic alms house converted to state hospital is on its last legs. Instead, I shut my eyes and ran. I ran. From the voice, from the past, from everything, I ran. And now I was here. With a new life. Where no one knew a thing about me, or my past.
