Author's POV
The Next Day
Taani was moving inside the room searching for the ultrasound pics when Rey entered inside the room with a gift box in his hand. He chuckled and keeping the gift on the table he tip-toed up to her and hugged her from back startling her, she huffed making him laugh,
"Rey aapne mujhe dara diya."
He laughed before asking her,
"Sorry! Vese kya dhoondh rahi ho?"
She sulked leaning closer to him backwards,
"Rey ultrasound reports nahi dikh rahi, kal doctor ke pas se aake I put here in the bedside drawer but it's not here now? Have you seen it?"
He nodded in affirmation and said,
"Yes, I know where it is."
She looked at him in anticipation,
"Kaha hai? Aapke pas hai? Bataiye na Rey."
He chuckled before tracing his hand on her face and closing her eyes,
"I will but for that first close your eyes."
She frowned with her eyes closed,
"Rey ye kya hai? What is it that you are doing now?"
He just walked towards the table and came up to her and said,
"Now you can open your eyes."
She did and saw him standing before her with a gift box, she raised her brows at him,
"What's this?"
"Khud dekh lo."
Rey told her, she took the gift box from his hand and opened it and the content inside left her speechless and tears trailed down her eyes in happiness. The ultrasound copy was inside the box and it was laminated along with having a beautiful frame. Rey smiled and wiped her tears softly with his thumb before pulling her in his arms by her waist,
"I wanted to cherish this first evidence of our baby, so I framed it. Pata hai Taani, I have decided we will be cherishing and preserving all evidences of our baby, we'll get all ultrasounds framed and when she is born I want to get her footprint and her hand sculpted on the wall. Every single thing about her would be preserved by us, for forever."
She nodded smiling widely, keeping the frame aside she hugged him on his chest tightly while he caressed her hair. Kissing the top of her head he patted it while she snuggled closer in his chest.
Breaking the hug, they picked up the frame and looking at it lovingly they together hung it on the wall beside all their pics. Taani was looking at the frame wih teary eyes, he frowned cupping her cheeks,
"Ab rona to band karo, chalo no emotional rona dhona now. I don't want my princess to be a water tank, I would never want tears in her eyes. So stop crying."
He said teasing her indirectly calling her a water tank, she huffed hitting him slightly and pouted,
"Achha to main water tank hu? Or ye kya princess princess laga rakha hai, how do you know it's a girl, boy bhi to ho sakta hai."
He denied shaking his head,
"Nahi it's a princess, my princess. I know that!"
She frowned folding her hands on her chest,
"How are you so sure? Baby is inside my belly and I know it's a boy not a girl."
He gave her a nonchalant smirk saying,
"Huh so what! I know it's a princess after all agar tumhari belly mein baby hai to vaha aaya bhi to meri wajah se hai, agar main tumhare belly ke andar....."
He was going to continue, her eyes widened hearing his words and before he could say further she closed his mouth with her hand whining,
"Uff Rey aap na......you are...you are so naughty and impossible. Aap na apne words pe control rakho mere baby ke samne, I don't want him to hear bad stuff."
He rolled his eyes and pulled her closer again, saying sarcastically,
"Tum to aise bol rahi ho jese she can hear us."
She nodded in affirmation,
"Yes he can, abhi nahi to thode din baad he will be able to hear everything you say and do and will respond too."
His eyes widened and he asked in disbelief,
"Are you serious, this little bean would be able to hear me."
She nodded smiling,
"Yes, once babies grow up a little in mother's womb they can hear everything from inside, they even recognize voices."
He looked at her delighted,
"Really? Tumhe kese pata?"
She shrugged,
"Rey it's fact, moreover aapne kabhi mahabharat suni hai?"
He shook his head in denial,
"Kyu?"
"Because mahabharat mein iske bare mein clearly mentioned hai. When arjun's wife was pregnant with Abhimanyu, arjun ek bar unhe chakravyuh todne ki technique bata rahe the. Jab unhone ye bataya that chakravyuh mein enter kese hona hai tab unki wife jagi hui thi to abhimanya ne sab suna par jab arjun ye batane vale the ki chakravyuh se bahar kese aana hai to vo so gayi, jiss wajah se abhimanyu bhi bahar aane ka tareeka nahi sun paye. Isliye war ke time unki death hui thi kyunki unhe chakravyuh se bahar aane ka tareeka hi nahi pata tha, bas andar jane ka pata tha. Isliye kehte hai jab tak mummas jagi hui hoti hai bachhe sab sunte hai par jese hi vo so jati hai tab babies womb mein kuch nahi sun sakte."
Rey was looking at her with an astonished face, he said impressed,
"wow! I heard this for the first time, iska matlab main bhi apne baby se jo kahunga vo sab sun paegi."
She nodded at him in answer,
"Yes but abhi nahi kuch months baad."
He jumped excitedly saying,
"Ohh I can't wait for that moment to come when I will be able to talk to my baby."
Saying that he picked her up in his arms and twirled her around in happiness before keeping her down and hugging her tightly to his heart. Her giggle echoed inside the room when he finally broke the hug and sat down on his knees in front of her coming down to her belly's level.
"I can't wait to talk to you my princess. Dadda loves you a lot! Please grow up soon little bean."
Saying that he pecked her belly running his hands there feeling his baby, Taani sighed in peace at his gesture before he nuzzled his head there and she hugged him around his head running her fingers in his hair. She said whispering,
"baby says he loves dadda loads too!"
Rey pouted looking up at her,
"No SHE says she loves me a lot."
Taani frowned still holding him,
'Mene kaha na HE!"
He threw her a duh face,
"So what I also said na SHE!"
"HE!"
"SHE!"
"HE!"
"SHE!"
They continued fighting making faces and enjoying this silly banter of their's. They were so happy that their happiness was contagious.
