( 𝒕𝒘𝒐, into the woods. )

IT'S BEEN MONTHS SINCE SHE'S BEEN MISSING.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗖𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗢𝗬 couldn't stand it any more. The first few hours was unnerving, maybe she went to Lydia's party and her phone's battery was dead, that happens, no need to worry, he thought. It's fine, he thought. The next day, she didn't come home, she didn't come home. Stiles was a mess, his little sister wasn't downstairs making breakfast, she didn't splash a bucket of water on his face to wake him up, nothing.

When the first week went by, there was a noticeable shift in the air, not only between Scott, Stiles and Allison, but the whole school as well. One of the students had gotten missing, and the only thing everyone thought about was, who would be next? By the first month, the Stilinski family, what was left of it, had received their 'sorry for your loss', they never thought they had to hear it again, not after Claudia. How many people are found, alive, after being missing for months? Let me spear you the suspense, not many.

Aurora was a carbon copy of Stiles. Always sarcastic, saying thing at the wrong time, flaps her hands around, has an addiction to helping anyone and anything. He thought she was just so beautiful in every way. He was scared that he'd been horrible to have been around these past few months. That it was a miracle that he hadn't lost any friends yet.

The day she was announced as 'missing,' Stiles forced Scott - even though he was already preparing to see if he could sniff out her location. He was confident that it was going to work, everyone was, until they followed him to the middle of the woods. She was no where close to any homes or anything, where the trail had stopped, not even Derek's house was close by.

Did she go there on purpose? Did someone drag her? How does a scent just stop all of a sudden, like it was never there?

Since Derek had slashed Peter's throat, Kate died, and Lydia's been in the hospital, Stiles has been in the hospital for the past few days. Just sitting outside of Lydia's room hoping that she would get well soon and to make matters even worse the two, she escaped from the hospital only a few hours ago.

Allison had been on house arrest with her parents since that fateful night and for him, trying to talk to her at her house is like when you think you found the exit of a maze but you figure out that you've past that corner one-hundred times already. Scott was just trying to find any connection to Aurora, anything, but so far nothing. It's like she just vanished into thin air.

Aurora was a human in his mind, she wasn't a werewolf or anything. He was convinced that something that he brought because of his werewolfness took her from him. Scott convinced Derek a few weeks ago to see if he could sniff anything out, nothing. He came to the same exact conclusion as Scott, which helped no one but they recognise that, the forest wasn't a 'safe' space anymore. The woods were slowly but surely becoming the most hated place in Beacon Hills.

"McCall please, this is not the time to be daydreaming right now," Coach's voice says as he enters the classroom with the grace and poise of a yeti, and starts talking about whatever topic everyone was going to forget as soon as the period ends. He was harder on Scott these days. Aurora was one of his favourite students, since he didn't have kids he thought of Aurora as his own, and treated her with respect, and since Stiles wasn't an option to torture, he relied on his backup option.

Today was the first day of school for Beacon Hills High, and Aurora been gone the entire holidays. At least before, Scott and Stiles had school, and the 'unknown alpha' now Peter, to worry about but now, it really hit them. There weren't any distractions anymore, she was gone.

Stiles looked like he hasn't slept in weeks, which Scott was sure he hasn't. Stiles always wanted to seem strong but sometimes he forgets that he's human too. Allison hasn't talked to Scott or anyone in a while after the night Aurora was reported missing, she hadn't spoken much. The three of them were in hell. Their own person hells.

The rest of the day was filled with rumours, most of which were about the untimely death of Kate Argent.

"Can you believe her aunt?"

"You mean the crazy bitch who killed all those people?"

"Yeah, the fire, all those animal attacks - it was her aunt."

"Are you kidding? I sit next to her in English."

"Find a new seat."

Scott's way of handling himself was not just drowning himself in sorrow, but also put his mind towards Allison, and making sure she was just 'fine'. He saw Allison across the hall and heard her heartbeat beast faster and faster. She was running a marathon while standing still.

"How'd you know?" she whispers solemnly looking at the ground.

"I could hear your heartbeat. What is it?" Scott says, wrapping both of my arms around her waist, resting his chin at the crown of her head.

"I - I - I - I - I can't - I can't do this. I can't - I can't go to the funeral," she stumbles. "Everyone is going to be watching me, and there are going to be cameras there, and I can't-"

"Yes, you can. Allison, you'll be fine. Everything's gonna be okay," Scott reassured. "We're gonna find Lydia, we're going to find Aurora," and her eyes loses her innocence and the tears begin to fall. The Argent girl always thought that Aurora's disappearance had something to do with her, because of their falling out at prom. Stiles doesn't talk about it, or to Allison since that day on the rooftop. "And it's all gonna be good. Just think about it - No Peter. No psycho werewolf killings. Your dad and me," Scott trailed off, "well, that's a work in progress," Allison chuckled.

"I can't go and be like this." She says, more to herself than Scott.

"Aren't you supposed to cry at funerals?" Scott teases, wanting to make her mood better.

"For her," she recoils in disgust.

"It doesn't matter. You know, you could be - Crying for you, you know?" trying to make something up. "You lost someone. Maybe Kate wasn't totally who you thought she was, but you still lost her," the wolf boy say slowly swaying the both of them, almost like they were slow dancing, but the music was the chatter of the school halls just outside the room.

"Yeah," she says dreamily.

"You'll be fine. And I'll make sure. I'll be there," he said, immediately regretting the decision.

"What?" she asks confused.

"I'll figure it out. Okay, I'm - I'll be there. Not - right next to you. But I'll be there."

"Okay," she says with a small smile.

Scott wasn't 'okay', but he couldn't focus on that right now, he didn't have the strength to and he didn't want to. Allison was the perfect project for him right now, she was broken and he wanted to fix her, he needed for something to work on.

"𝗬𝗢," 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗦, coming up from behind Scott. Him and the human boy were crouching down and hiding behind a huge gravestone. The two were watching Kate's funeral from afar, Allison's entire family was already there, plus a few more people. An elderly man talking to Matt, a photographer at school, had come to sit next to the Argents. His presence was intimidating for everyone sitting down on the seats, Allison looked mothing but uncomfortable and Chris was irritated but never showed any emotion in front of him.

"Do you remember me?" the old man says approaching Allison.

"Who the hell is that?" Stiles asks Scott. His eyes were even more red than just a few hours ago at school, and his face was red, probably from all the crying. Scott knew that they had to talk about it, he had been holding it in for far too long now, but he always some sort of excuse because really he knew he had to listen to it as well. 'Not now, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow, but soon, definitely soon.'

"He's definitely an Argent."

"Considering I haven't seen you since you were three, I don't suppose I can assume you'd call me grandpa. So if it's comfortable, call me Gerard for the time being. But I'd prefer grandpa," he says sitting down next to Allison. She discreetly turned to Scott and he gave a weak smile and small wave.

"I guess we have our answer," he breathed out.

"Hey, you know, maybe they're just here for the funeral. I mean - what if they're the non - hunting side of the family? There could be non - hunting Argents. It's possible, right?" Stiles asks, pretty unconvincingly.

"I know what they are. They're reinforcements."

The two young boys, heard shuffling from behind them, and then something - or rather someone, pulled them by the back of their shirts, "Ah. The two of you. Unbelievable." "Pick up my tie," Sheriff Stilinski scolds Stiles.

"Got it. Sorry. I know, I'm supposed to ask," Stiles mutters. Since Aurora been reported missing, Stiles was only allowed out for school, and then straight home, no detours, no friends, but Stiles being Stiles, he usually snuck out for Lydia or Scott. Sheriff Stilinski pushed the both in the backseat of his car for 'the rest of the funeral.'

'4 - 1 - 5 Adam,' a crackling voice called out from the walkie-talkie connected to his sheriff's jacket.

"I didn't copy that. Did you say 4 - 1 - 5 Adam?" the Sheriff repeated.

"Disturbance in a car," Stiles whispers to Scott.

"They were taking a heart attack victim - D.O.A. But on the way to the hospital, something hit 'em," the crackling voice replyed back.

"What - hit the ambulance?" Sheriff Stilinski asked back.

"Copy that. I'm standing in front of it right now. Something got in the back. There's blood everywhere. And I mean everywhere."

"All right, unit 4, what's your 20?"

"Route 5 and post. I swear, I've never seen anything like this."

"All right, take it easy. I'm on my way. Now, as for you two-" He starts, but Stiles and Scott were already out of the car and long gone into the forest looking for Lydia. The two needed for something good to happen, an achievement they can celebrate, but they knew that with the addition of another Argent, the chances were slim to none.

Stiles and Scott stay close to the ground in the woods. The sun has already set and the darkness of the night sky had already taken over. They could  briefly see the open back doors of the ambulance open, the entirety of it covered in blood. The patient inside would've had no chance to live. They only had one question, did Lydia do this?

"𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 is Lydia doing?" Stiles utters.

"I don't know," Scott whispered, looking at the gruesome corpse only a few feet from the two.

"What kept you from doing that, was it Allison?" he questions.

"I hope so," Scott lied. It was never Allison who was able to calm him down, sure her voice was sweet and it was able 'simmer' him done, but whenever he was on the verge of turning, the boy always listened to Aurora's voice. He had justifications for his action, she was one of his childhood friends but never knew how Stiles would react, and he didn't want to lose his friendship if it resulted badly, so it was easier to say Allison.

"Do you need to get closer?" Stiles asks.

"No, I got it," Scott dismissed as he caught someone's scent, hoping it was Lydia's.

As he moved to get up, Stiles grabbed the back of Scott's shirt and pulls me back down. "Just - I just need you to find her. All right? Please, just - just find her," he pleads. The Stilinski boy and Martin girl story was known only by Stiles and Scott, how he loved her and how she doesn't even know his name. Still the boy had hope, and a plan that would last years but he would always protect her from the shadows that he was dragged into.

He didn't blame Scott for any of the trouble that they faced but as time went on, he felt ashamed that he couldn't protect his sister like Scott could've. He felt ashamed that he was a defenceless little boy and that if he had the same powers as what seems like the rest of the student body, then his sister would be by their side now. He resented Allison for being the same as him, a human, and yet still being 20 times stronger. He resented himself for not being with Aurora the whole day she went missing. In his mind, the only person he could somehow protect was Lydia.

"I will," Scott assures him.

As Scott ran through the forest, the scent seems to get stronger and stronger. Until Scott spotted someone, a turned werewolf. He ran to catch up with werewolf, and he turned, jumping on all fours. The werewolf started to run and Scott follow and as he jumps into a clear part of the forest, the werewolf catches him and pegs him down to the ground. It's then that he realised, he wasn't following Lydia.

"You're not Lydia," he growled, and the werewolf started to fight. The two began to fight, Scott was trying to defend himself while the other, was trying to kill him.

"Wait!" Scott shouted but the deepness in his voice could only reach so far, and he kept running. They reached a part of the forest that he hadn't been in. It looked like the floor wasn't made of leaves or dirt, only a rocky terrain. "Wait! Stop!" he screamed. As they both reach common ground, he's suddenly brought up into the air. His hands are caught over his head and tied in ropes. Hunters. As Scott tries to help him out, two arms pushed him down and dragged him up behind a tree, Derek Hale. "What are you doing!? I can help him!"

"They're already here," he whispers anxiously, he face showing his usual cold and mad demeanour. Hunters, left and right, had started to surround the bound, now man.

"I can help him!" Scott whispered desperately, but deep down, he knew he couldn't handle all of them.

"Quiet!" Derek whispered, the werewolf growls and Chris takes a sort of stick, buzzing with a sort of blue light, and electrifies him. The werewolf screams with pain, it's noises, getting louder and louder.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Chris shouts at the tied prey.

"Nothing. Nothing, I swear," he says, breathing deeply.

"You're not from here, are you? Are you?!" Chris screams, threatening with the stick once again.

"No. No, I came - I came looking for the Alpha. I heard he was here. That's all. Look, I didn't do anything. I didn't hurt anyone," he says, his face showing nothing but fear. "No one living. He wasn't alive in the ambulance. He wasn't, I swear," he admits.

"Gentlemen! Take a look at a rare sight. You wanna tell them what we've caught?" the old man from the funeral earlier today says, the last to come out from the shadows.

"An Omega," Chris says looking at the werewolf with disgust, yet sympathy.

"The lone wolf! Possibly kicked out of his own pack. Or the survivor of a pack that was hunted down. Maybe even murdered. And possibly alone by his own choice. Certainly not a wise choice," he says grabbing a sword. "Because, as I am about to demonstrate - an Omega rarely survives - On his own," he snickers, the sword cutting through the omega's body like a knife does with a piece of bread. The lower half of his body drops to the ground, limp and his organs and blood drips from the half that's still in the air.

"Look. Look. Look at them! You see what they do? This is why you need me. Why we need each other. The only way to fight them is together," Derek says, holding my head to turn and look at the murder in front of us both.

"What are they doing?" Scott asked but he already knew the answer.

"Declaring war."

"We have a code," Chris scolds. Yes, after the innocent werewolf is dead, then you decide to bring up 'the code'.

"Not when they murder my daughter," he says darkly, sticking his sword into the ground. "No code. Not anymore. From now on, these things are just bodies waiting to be cut in half. Are you listening? Because I don't care if they're wounded and weak. Or seemingly harmless - begging for their life with the promise that they will never, ever hurt anyone. Or some desperate, lost soul with no idea what they're getting into. We find them. We kill them.

We kill them all."
