Sitting in my studio I work on songs for next year. It was about 9 pm. As I'm working I feel my phone vibrate. Taking it out I see that my dad is calling. Accepting the call I notice that it's a video call.
"Dad?"
I hear and see many people which makes me smile sadly. I hate missing christmas with my family, it reminds me how alone I am in Korea.
"Everyone say hello"
There are many voices. All try talking at once which causes me to laugh. There is a knock at my studio door which causes me to stand up carrying my phone. Opening the door I see Jaehyun
"Jagiya"
"Sweetheart"
I let him into my studio and I notice that he has a bag of food. Closing the door I get my phone stand so that I don't have to hold my phone.
"Who are you talking to?"
"My family"
"Ah"
The two of us sit on the couch and get the phone steady and at a good level.
"Is that Jaehyun?"
"Yeah he brought food"
"Hello"
They all begin talking with us as we eat. It felt good talking to family after so long. We talk for a good 30 minutes and after hanging up I felt sad
"You miss it"
"Yeah it reminds me that my family is so far away"
"You also feel alone"
"Why are you here?"
"Couldn't leave you alone on Christmas"
I felt my face heat up
"Why don't we go back to yours and watch some movies?"
"Don't you have work?"
"Nope"
Standing up I move to save everything I was working on before turning everything off.
"Did you drive?"
"Yeah, how did you get here?"
"Asked your manager to bring me here"
I nod as I slip on my coat, grab my phone and bag. I feel him take my keys
"Let me drive us back"
I could only nod.
A few minutes later
Jaehyun and I are curled up on my couch watching a Christmas movie. I couldn't shake the sad feeling I have. As the movie plays I cover my eyes as I begin to cry
"Jagiya"
"It's nothing"
"Talk to me"
He pulls me into a hug
"It's just I miss being with my family for Christmas. Every year since I moved to Korea I always feel sad, I don't care about the presents or decorations. Christmas to me is about family, My grandparents are in their 80s how many more Christmases do I have to miss. What happens if one year they're gone?"
I hide my face in his shoulder as I cry. His hand rubs up and down my back
"I'm alone here in Korea."
"You aren't Jagiya, you have me. You have everyone in NCT. All the idols you are friends with."
I pull away from him to go to my bathroom. Unbeknownst to me he is messaging NCT. Looking in my mirror I wipe away my tears and fix my makeup. Coming back to the living room I see that he has done something
"What did you do?"
"It's a surprise"
Confused I sit down and watch as he gets up to answer my door. My eyes widened as I watch all of NCT enter my apartment carrying food.
"I couldn't let you celebrate or feel alone on Christmas, you aren't alone Jagiya"
Sitting around on the floor all 25 of us eat while chatting. I couldn't get rid of the warmth in my chest, looking at Jaehyun I can't help but fall more in love with him.
