At night the huntress god did come
And all the woods were stricken dumb.
In fear their lives the god would claim
If even meager movements made.

Becoming Selene's vaunted game
To steep a price for hallowed fame.
So every beast in forest hid
To live another day their bid.

And under darkness goddess sped
In hopes to strike the hero dead.
So god may keep her claim to hind
And give not hero beast sublime.

Through treetops goddess deftly lept
With footfalls quite as though she crept.
Then finds she Heras Wrath on sod
Who patient waits for lunar god.

"The time has come to answer give
If wrong the demi-god won't live.
So ponder question long and well
Or down in hades godling dwells.

Not thick as string nor wide as pin
On top must balance all of men
It's values none but squares to much
And all who live are in its clutch?"

The goddess grins at hero's plight
Who knows no answer lies in sight.
She's certain goddess keeps the hind
This outcome gives her peace of mind.

"A moment" demi-god replies
And hearing answer goddess cries.
The huntress falls to ground and weeps
She knows the hind she can not keep.

Then beast appears beside the man
Who foiled goddess cunning plan.
The creatures still in magic binds
On shoulder hero lifts the hind.

And demi-god from Selene turns
To take his road on down to Tyrne.
