--playing Heart of Glass by Blondie--
[Johnny angrily clenches his fist wishing to immediately fight Daniel. Who could blame him?- Daniel was sitting with Johnny's closest friend and ex-girlfriend. Some time passes and Daniel completes his lunch, standing up to throw away in the nearby trash can. He carries his tray, passing by Johnny Lawrence on his way- the two rivals make eye-contact, they continued to angrily glare at each other]
"Why is he looking at me like that?" [Daniel thinks to himself, feeling intimidated- looking less aggressive than Johnny did. Ali and Scarlette look over to see Johnny hold his leg out to trip Daniel]
"Daniel, watch out-!" [Scarlette yells as Daniel falls onto the dirty cafeteria floor, dropping all of his uneaten, gross-looking, lunch onto himself. The room erupts with laughter and he stands back up wiping food from his shirt and shaking the whole milk from his dark brown hair. Scarlette and Ali stand up, rushing over to Daniel, the two girls give Johnny a dirty look as he and his friends still laugh hard. Ali puts her hand onto Daniel's shoulder] "Are you ok?" [Scarlette asks as she examines Daniel Larusso, he has pizza sauce on his knee and elbow, mashed potatoes on his hip, and of course milk in his hair]
"Y-yeah, I'm fine." [Daniel lets it go as he gives Johnny one more angry look. He then looked down in embarrassment as he continued to scrape off the pizza sauce from his jeans- Scarlette and Ali stood in front of him and glared at Johnny, Scarlette more angry as usual. The two girls then look behind them at Daniel, they proceeded to help him clean up and ignore the other around them]
--school ends--
[After school Daniel practices karate from his book inside his apartment, feeling some karate skills might come in handy next time he sees Johnny and his 'gang of assholes'. Daniel attempts to copy the photographs of kicks in the book laid out on the table. Daniel turns around for a moment to see the Okinawan man, Mr. Miyagi, holding a toolbox]
"I am here to fix sink." [Mr. Miyagi said as he entered the room, Daniel nods]
"Right- go ahead." [Daniel lets Mr. Miyagi pass as he continues to kick, now working a sweat. The old man draws his tools- placing his toolbox on the kitchen counter -and begins fixing the faucet. He looks over to Daniel again and examines the exercise]
"Karate?" [The old man asked]
"Yeah." [The tan, and now sweaty, boy answered]
"Learn from book?"
"Yeah-" [Daniel began, panting slightly as it was difficult to exercise and speak at the same time for him] "and a few nights at the Y in Newark."
"What happened to eye?" [Mr. Miyagi squints, looking up at Daniel- noticing his various wounds]
"I- fell off my bike." [Daniel lies. Mr. Miyagi looks at his hand, its bruised because of what happened at soccer tryouts days ago. The hand wound is not very noticeable, but noticeable at that- for the old man noticed the little things]
"Then, what happened to hand?" [Mr. Miyagi asked, catching onto Daniel's lies. Daniel stops and gives him a look- he doesn't care to talk about it, he doesn't know the old man and believes that he will probably never see him again afterwards. He resumes his exercise as Mr. Miyagi finishes fixing the sink, and soon enough, the old man leaves the apartment with the door open. Daniel doesn't bother to close it either, he's focused on his exercise- more so now that he is reminded by the reason he must defend himself. Moments later, Scarlette exits her apartment and looks into Daniel's apartment before heading down the stairs. The tall, tan, and teen girl wore a red leather jacket with a yellow and black logo on the back of it- her collar is popped and she wore her black sleeveless gi under it]
"Not bad, Larusso." [Scarlette said with a smirk as she entered the room. Daniel smiles before turning around]
"H-heyy, Scar." [He said friendly, as he wipes his sweat with his sleeveless shirt]
"Nice place you've got here." [She said as she examined the very homey and cozy decor that Daniel's mother had decorated the apartment with]
"Well, make yourself at home-" [Daniel walks over to her with his hand on his hip- Scarlette interrupts, stepping closer to him and tilting her head smugly]
"Don't let me interrupt you- keep practicing, karate kid." [Scarlette said, still smirking]
"Alright." [Daniel nods, stepping back to look at his book and focuses- He continues to kick, as the book shows him to do. He glances over to Scarlette nodding slowly as she watched him, he then does an punch- just to show off]
"Ok," [Scarlette said as she chuckles and grabs Daniel's fist after he completes the punch, startling him a little. His face reddens as Scarlette grips his hand tightly yet comfortably] "You're gonna break your thumb-" [She began, Daniel rests his hand as Scarlette still holds onto it] "Now untuck your thumb." [She commands and Daniel does what he's told once again, Scarlette nods and smiles] "That's better." [She said as she lets go of his fist and steps back to watch once more with her arms crossed] "Now do it again." [She commands and Daniel punches again, looking at Scarlette for her approval afterwards. She nods then continues] "Also," [She began, now circling him and making him pause his exercise with feelings of flirty anxiety. She looks down at the page that's open in the karate book then back up at Daniel. She steps closer to him and smirks again, pushing her curtain bangs aside] "That wasn't in the book, show off." [She said which makes Daniel laugh with a red face, as he scratches his head in embarrassment and bashfulness]
"Well, I-" [Daniel began to try and explain himself, planning another obvious lie]
"I'm heading to practice, I'll see you around." [She steps away and heads for the door when Daniel stops her with his voice]
"Hold on-" [Daniel spoke up and cleared his throat and nerves. Scarlette stops her exit and leans on the doorframe as she waits for what Daniel was going to say] "I'm looking for a place to do karate other than my living room. What gym do you go to?"
"I go to a dojo, Daniel." [She responded in a firm- yet jokey -manner]
"That's what I meant." [He responds, they laugh]
"So, I'll see you around?" [Scarlette steps out the apartment again but Daniel stops her with his hand and voice, she still hadn't answered his question]
"Hold on, what dojo do you go to?" [He asks, not allowing Scarlette to ignore the question again]
"I don't think it'd be a good idea-" [She began, with an anxious look]
"Why?" [Daniel asked, taking his hand off of Scarlette and crossing his arms. Scarlette took a few backwards steps out of the apartment to attempt to exit once more]
"I-I have to go," [Scarlette looks at her Casio watch to represent to Daniel that she is at risk of being late] "I'll talk to you later." [She jogs down the stairs, leaving Daniel leaning on the doorframe alone- He fortunately catches the name of the dojo on the back of Scarlette's jacket]
"Cobra Kai.." [Daniel says to himself as he watches Scarlette walk to her dojo. He wonders to himself] "Is she afraid I'll challenge her or something? No, that can't be right.. It's just so odd that she won't ever tell me." [He thinks about this for a moment or two, then moves on to resuming his training]
--the next day, (at lunch)--
[Ali chats with her friends in the lunchline across from Scarlette Sevem- whose black eye was finally healing- Scarlette grabs a slice of the leftover blueberry pie and feels a tap on her shoulder, it was Daniel]
"You have anyone to sit with today?" [He asked friendly, they smiled at each other. Scarlette looked back at Johnny and friends, catching Johnny staring at her with an expression that she didn't care to decipher. Scarlette rolls her eyes at him Johnny then looks back beside her at Daniel]
"Yes actually," [Scarlette began, making Daniel's smile fade- he believed that this meant Scarlette was going to sit beside the Cobra Kais again and it disappointed him] "I'm sitting with my friend from Newark." [She continued with a smile- Daniel laughs out of relief]
"Oh, he sounds cool. I totally understand if you just want to sit with him every school day for the rest of your life." [Daniel said with a smirk and the two laugh together again- Johnny continues to watch from afar with an angry expression on his face]
"Johnny, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you have a crush on her." [Bobby says as the other Cobra Kais laugh- Johnny ignores them and continues to stare solemnly, his anger grew. Daniel and Scarlette continue to chat, laughing and such and Johnny cannot take it anymore. He stands up sneakily, holding a plate with blueberry pie on it]
"Oh shit!" [Tommy says with a chuckle, knowing exactly what Johnny is doing next. Johnny pulls out the chair that Daniel had sat on the day before and places the plate onto it, he tucks the chair back in and sneakily walks back to his seat. Scarlette leads the way to their lunch table, she takes her seat and places her tray on the table. Daniel opens his chair and sits down beside her without looking at the seat. He jumps back up immediately after sitting in something soft- he looks to see the blueberry pie that Johnny had placed there. He looks back at the Cobar Kai's table, knowing who was responsible due to the immense laughter- the boy sighs, groans, and shakes his head, for the Cobra Kais had embarrassed him once again. Scarlette's eyebrows point as she realizes what had just happened, turning to the Cobra Kais angrily]
"What the fuck is wrong with you, Johnny?!" [She yells with an aggressive wave of both hands upwards, tired of Johnny Lawrence messing with Daniel Larusso]
"What the hell is your problem?!" [Daniel yells just a little louder, walking over to Johnny- confronting him like he had when he realised how Scarlette had gotten her black eye. Johnny stands up and grabs Daniel by the shirt, pushing him against a wall and pointing his finger angrily in Daniel Larusso's face. Daniel tries to break free but cannot, he now wishes he hadn't said a word. The others sit and watch but Scarlette, she follows Daniel and tries to pry Johnny off of him]
"Leave him alone, Johnny!" [She yelled as she tried to pry Johnny off of Daniel with all of her strength- Johnny stands his ground and easily pushes Scarlette away and to the ground just as
"You're my problem, Larusso! You need to stay away from my girls!" [Johnny yells as he readies to punch Daniel. Ali's attention is caught, she rushes to Scarlette to assist her with prying Johnny off of Daniel]
"Your girls?" [Scarlette yells, finally prying Johnny off of Daniel. The two 'close friends' locked each others eyes, Scarlette with anger and Johnny with somewhat sincerity and shock- he realized what he had just done]
"Scarlette, I-'' [Johnny begins explaining himself, but Scarlett's once again does not listen. She can't take it anymore- sick and tired of his worthless excuses.
"We were friends- best friends! How could he have said something like that. I'm a person! Ali is a person! Her and I aren't objects, but somehow Johnny's warped reality thinks we belong to him. That's it- it's over." [Scarlette's thoughts corrupted her head so quickly and simultaneously that she must do something about it. She punches Johnny Lawrence in the face with strength she didn't even recognize- channeling her anger into her hit -making his nose bleed and him, back and head fall against the wall. Johnny is shocked as he covers his nose and wipes the gushing blood, every student gasps- nobody has ever stood up to Johnny Lawrence like that. Daniel's jaw drops as he backs away from Johnny and Ali backs away from Scarlette. The rest of Cobra Kai stands up out of instinct, feeling threatened- but what could they do about it? They didn't feel the need to escalate the fight, since Scarlett's Sevem was still a member of Cobra Kai. Scarlette looks at her hand shocked, she didn't know she could punch that hard and it was like she had just become so much stronger in karate] "W-woah.." [She said with the smallest smile, she was more surprised than proud of herself at the moment]
