Seconds after you and Dabi left the bookstore he received a phone call from Tomura. Telling him he needed his help for a task, you both said your goodbyes and you ended up going to your classes that night after all.

A week later, you went to the league after your classes to give Toga her weekly knife lessons
You looked around but didn't see Dabi anywhere, despite his usual attendance
"Hey.. uh.. Toga, have you seen Dabi?" you ask wrapping Toga's knife with grip tape
Toga smiled and look at you "Didn't he tell you? He woke up sick this morning and Tomura was nice enough to give him today off"
"Tomura gave him the day off?" you asked surprisingly
guess I've been a good influence on him
" I just didn't want him to make the rest of us sick" Tomura scoff making his way over to Kurogiri for a drink
Nevermind
He took a shot and then looked over at you, "Didn't he let you know? I told him to go over to you, you know you being a pharmacist and all"
"No he didn't tell me.." you said handing Toga the wrapped knife
Guess he didn't want my help
"Show me what you got space buns" you smirk at Toga, shaking off Dabi from your mind
"You got it [y/n]-chan!"

After your session with Toga you were beat, you were pleased though because your training with her was paying off. Her combat skills had improved by a lot
You reached to grab your phone, tempted to call Dabi, but realize that was a bad idea. If he wanted to let you know he was sick, he would've done so, right? Anyways it was already midnight and you just wanted to be home. It was already late Fall and it had started to get chilly outside and this change in temperature only made you lazier
When you finally reached your apartment, you put on a pair of sweatpants and a loose shirt and plopped down on the bed, scrolling through your phone. When the ringing of your burner phone caught your attention. You reached over your bag and pulled it out,
"Dabi is calling "
You quickly sat up and picked up the call
"Dabi?" you asked worriedly
"Little mouse can... can you come over?" his voice trembled. He sounded really sick, his voice was strained and tired
You looked down grabbing a handful of your sweatpants into a fist. He sounded like he was in pain. You needed to get there as soon as possible
"Text me your address" you ordered and hang up the call. You put your phone inside the pocket of your sweatpants and headed to your kitchen and bathroom cabinet to look for anything that you could use. You grabbed your bag and filled it with Aspirin, towels, water bottles, and a bottle of Nyquil you had unopened. You also lay your hands on any other essential things you might've need
You looked over at your clock on the wall and it read 12:15 , instantly you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket
Dabi had sent you his address, you studied the directions and realize it was only a 20-minute walk, 15 maybe if you ran fast enough
You grabbed a jacket, put it on without bothering to zip it up, and rushed out the door

You were running down the streets, the crisp autumn wind hitting your face harshly making it hard for you to breathe. The orange glow of streetlamps lighting up every step of your way. You kept taking glances down at your phone trying to follow the route
You weren't expecting Dabi to call you, especially not in the middle of the night. But you didn't care. He must've had a reason he didn't feel comfortable telling you he was sick . Nevertheless you didn't care. He needed you right now and you... you had made a promise. That you were going to look over the league, even if it was the last thing you did
Reaching the area you found many old apartment buildings
You roam around when finally you found his apartment number and knock on the door
You waited a while when the door finally opened
A pale and exhausted looking Dabi opened the door barely holding himself together
"Doll.." he croaked
He took one step forward, when suddenly his body came falling down, collapsing onto yours. His head resting on your shoulder, you could feel the weight of him pulling you down
"Come on.. lets go inside" you softly whispered holding him steady and helping him inside
It was cold, and dark. You looked over to his room and notice that his bed was a mess, sheets tangled up and a small lamp in the cornerback barely lighting up the room
You help him walk over to his bed. He then laid down with one of his arms draped over his face
You notice he was shivering violently and his forehead was dripping from sweat. He then curled his body to the side and wince in pain
You placed your bag on his nightstand and took out a thermometer to take his temperature
38°C (102°F)
He's burning up
You grabbed the NyQuil from your bag, as well as a water bottle. You pour some NyQuil liquid into the medicine cup and held it out
"Here take this" you said helping him sit up by placing a hand behind his back, and with your other hand you held the medicine cup and slowly pour the liquid inside his mouth. You handed him the water bottle but he refused
Plopping his body back down and closing his eyes. You notice him groan from the pain
You then took out the towels that you had brought from home and headed to his bathroom. You found a bowl and filled it with warm water. Making your way back to his room you sat on the foot of the bed and wet the washcloth inside the bowl of water. You squeeze and twisted it over the bowl excess water dripping in it. Then leaning over you placed it on Dabi's forehead. You repeated this process for a while switching from his forehead to the back of his neck, trying to lower his temperature
Dabi would open his eyes here and then noticing what you were doing but didn't say anything. You would only put your hand over his eyes, telling him to go back to sleep
After a while, you notice he had stopped moving around.Convince he had fallen asleep you then place the washcloth and bowl on the nightstand and stood up
You arched your back, placing your hands behind them trying to stretch when unexpectedly Dabi's hand reached over and grabbed your wrist pulling you down onto him
"Don't go..." he slurred
Seeing Dabi in this state made you feel soft. You've never seen him like this before, it almost seem unnatural. Even when he got hurt in missions he was always holding a cocky grin or making a side remark. But right now he was being so vulnerable, slowly he was letting you inside his heart. Letting you see his flaws, both the good and the bad. And you.. you were falling for him
Right now in the middle of the night. In this tiny dark apartment. On this twin XL size bed. It was only you and him. And that was all that mattered
"Move over" you murmur grabbing the sheets and crawling inside the covers with him. You lay down on your side, your back facing him. Dabi's bigger body frame took up the majority of the bed, so you tried to not take up as much space as possible, not that there was much to begin with
Suddenly you felt a pair of hands grabbed you by the waist and pulled you close to him
"I'm cold" Dabi exhale on your neck, his hot breath making contact with your cold skin sending shivers down your spine
You slowly turned over to your other side, this time facing Dabi. You raised your arms over his neck, pulling his head down closer to the crook of your neck, then planting your face on his soft messy hair
He then wrapped his arms under your unzipped jacket and around your waist. The two of you remained like this throughout the night. Both absorbing each other's body heat and completely falling into a deep slumber

In the morning~
You shuffle a little when you felt soft hair strands tickling you. Upon opening your eyes, you found your face buried in a mass of black hair
"What the..." you deadpanned
You instantly remembered everything that happened last night
And when you looked down you notice the raven-haired male sleeping peacefully with one arm wrapped around you and the other underneath his pillow
You smile at his sleepy state not wanting to wake him up, but soon realize that you were going to be late for work
Gently, you tried to remove his arm from you but that only made his grip on you tighter
You sigh and realize you had no choice but to wake him up
You ruffled his hair, "wakey wakey sleeping beauty"
Dabi fluttered his eyes, taking a moment to adjust his eyesight and letting the memories from last night sink in. He then sat up and tilted his head to the side. A grin appear on his face as he looked over at you. Your hair was all messy and you wore a tired look
"Good morning bedhead" his grin widened
Taking care of him throughout the night despite your usual long day must've been exhausted for you. And Dabi acknowledge this, he wondered had it been anyone else from the league would you have done the same for them? His eyes trailed down your body, he had this uneasy feeling inside of him. Not of you, but of him. He felt all warm and comfortable with you. It was a feeling he never had before, and it made him feel troubled because his body was moving faster than his mind. It was so unlike him.
You rubbed your eyes and yawn standing up and stretching your arms back
"How are you feeling?" you asked shyly avoiding eye contact with him
"Much better" he answered
You smiled down at the floor, after hearing him say that. You were glad he was feeling better, he had you worried sick last night
"Hey doll can I ask, why did you agree to come over last night" Dabi questioned getting up and making his way towards you
You tied your hair in a ponytail looking away from him trying to hide the blush that crept on your cheeks , "Well it-its my job, remember?"
Dabi smirked and leaned forward at your eye level, whispering behind your ear "Is sleeping with your patients part of your job?"
Flustered you crossed your arms and took a defensive pose
"If I recall correctly, you were the one clinging to my body" you said digging your finger on his chest
Dabi was taken back by your sudden fearlessness. He wasn't expecting that type of answer from you
A cheeky smile crept on his face, "When did you get so bold?"
You returned his smile back, "Same time you grew soft"
Dabi looked at you. He studied the lower half of your face and caught your smile
"I haven't gone soft" he mumbled looking away making his way to the living room
You playfully rolled your eyes and reached for your phone
8:30 am
You still had some time before work, you walked over to Dabi's "kitchen" and realized he had nothing but stale bread and a gallon of milk
You scratched the back of your head and looked over at a slightly embarrassed Dabi
"Ok so I'm going to go and buy you some breakfast and drop it off." You said making your way over to grab your bag
"I'll be right back" you smiled grabbing your phone and wallet putting them in the pocket of your jacket and leaving behind a content Dabi
