"He's just going to disconnect again," Malak stated as she scooped some cake into her mouth.
George sighed and looked around the Minecraft world, "Clay?"
"Hardened Clay," Dream stated and Malak coughed loudly.
"WHAT?" George spluttered.
Dream laughed and disconnected.
"That was disgusting," George grimaced.
"Are we going to ignore the fact that Malak's choking to her death?" Sapnap chuckled.
George gasped and quickly turned around to help Malak calm down from coughing violently.
"Are you okay?" He asked her as she gasped for air.
"Am I okay?" She retorted. "What do you mean am I okay?! This bitch ass—"
George quickly covered her mouth, muffling her curses and smiled at the stream.
"Nothing to see here," he shook his head as she continued rambling.
"Are you done yet?" Sapnap snickered and George rolled his eyes.

"Your phone's blowing up with notifications," George pointed out as they sat together in his living room, a documentary playing in the background.
"People are going crazy thinking I'm up to something on the SMP," she laughed, caressing his cat's soft fur.
"Too bad I no longer have a major role anymore," George shrugged.
"You slept through the election AND the festival, George," Malak chuckled. "What did you expect?"
"True," he nodded. "But—"
"No," Malak shook her head. "Just no. Don't even bother."
George let out a short laugh and called for his kitten to come over. It hopped off Malak's arms and lay on his lap.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" George turned to look at her.
"Yeah, sure," Malak turned so that they were facing each other. "What's up?"
"Malak," he mumbled hesitantly.
"Yes?" She frowned.
"Why— why are you here?"
"What do you mean?" Her frown deepened. "I'm here to celebrate your birthday. You're getting old, George. And very lonely, might I add."
"No," George tried to reform his question. "But like, I feel like you're not just here for that, I feel like you need to tell me something."
Malak looked quite taken aback. "What gave it away—?!"

"Huh," George raised his brows surprised. "So you know he likes you."
"Pretty much," she winced.
"Thank God," George leaned back and stretched his arms out. "He called me a few days back to tell me that he told you how he felt and he thought you had forgotten what happened because you didn't say anything about it."
"Oh?"
"Yeah," George replied. "He was so disappointed with himself because, and I quote: 'he couldn't have picked a worse timing,' but it's fine cause you remember!"
"Wait a minute," he paused. "Malak, do you like him back?"
Malak hesitated.
"Oh," George chuckled nervously. "So that's what you needed to talk to me about."
"Yeah," she nodded and looked away. "I don't know why, but you felt like the right person to talk to about this."
"I'm flattered," George smiled sadly. "But, you didn't answer my question."
She remained silent.
"Malak," he repeated. "Do you like Dream?"
Finally, she answered. "I'm not sure," she admitted quietly.
"It's a yes or no question."
"I'm sorry!" She scowled.
George met her scowl with a raised brow.
"I'm just—" she sighed, uncertain, "I think I'm just confused. I've never looked at him in more of a platonic way before."
"So you don't like him?"
As Malak opened her mouth to reply, she found herself drawn back to George's birthday stream and to Dream's infectious enthusiasm. A sense of confusion settled within her.
She appreciated his kindness and the easy camaraderie they shared, but beneath it all, was it merely admiration or something more complex?
Malak's mind raced, dissecting every interaction and shared moment, searching for an elusive certainty. She cherished Dream's comforting presence, whether that be physically or virtually, yet the fear of disrupting their friendship loomed large.
Wrestling with her emotions, she grappled with the unfamiliar territory of her own heart, wishing for a clear path forward while preserving the precious bond they already had.
In this haze of conflicting feelings, she yearned for a sign, a definitive answer to the puzzle of her own tangled emotions.
Finally, Malak met George's eyes. "I don't know," she said and her shoulders sagged.
He nodded. "Well," he spoke softly, "you came all the way here to talk about it and to figure something out. That's something."
"I guess so," she shrugged.
"You'll figure it out soon enough, I'm sure," George smiled at her and, albeit confused about what he meant by that, Malak found herself smiling back.
"I will," she said and she believed it.
