Imagine; you used to be a gladiator until you were send away by Odin, he banned everyone who participated. One day Thor gets injured in the middle of nowhere, you take care of him.

Thor opens his eyes, the pounding in his head getting worse every second that ticks by.
He remembers flashes from a while ago, flashes of people trying to kill him, Blood seeping through his clothes and his skin being cut up by the edge of their swords.
He also remembers a faint forgive of a woman defending him. She stood in front of him fighting all the other men off.
He looks around and wonders where he's currently staying. He sits up and groans when he feels a slight hint of pain. As his eyes go over his arms, he sees rags and some kind of cream on the shallower cuts. He reaches to touch it but gets stopped by a female voice.
'I wouldn't do that if I were you...' she leans against the doorframe with her arms crossed over her chest.
'Who are you..' his immediate aggressive reaction makes her chuckle a bit.
'Is that really how you greet all the people healing you?' She replies.
'I apologise, I didn't mean to be rude... but it is quite alarming when you wake up in a place you have no knowledge off, and spoken to by a woman you don't recall ever meeting...'
'Yes.. I can only imagine... but if you uh.. must know... I'm Y/n..' she pushes herself off of the doorframe and walks over to him.
She sticks out her hand for him to shake. He hesitantly takes it.
'Before you ask... we're in the forest not far away from the village.. and do not worry... those men that attacked you can't find us... mainly because they are currently visiting Hel... probably not knowing that they will permanently stay there...'
Thor chuckles at her remark. A small smile creeps onto her face when she hears him laugh.
'Care to tell em why those men were attacking you?' She hands him a cup of water for him to drink and he downs it in one go before answering.
'I have a lot of enemies... it's not out of the ordinary for them to go after me.. they were stronger this time.. I was caught off guard...'
'Well lucky for you I was nearby...'
'Yes...yes I am very lucky..'
As Thor continues to look around, he notices small things that remind him of something he read in his younger years. A dark page out of the history of Asgard as many call it.
Gladiator fights his father used to organise. When he was a teenager he went to one, saw a few people fight. His father banned the fights a year later. Every gladiator banished forever. He assumes the girl is either one of them or a daughter of one of them.
'You're a...you're a gladiator... aren't you?' He asks bluntly and she stops in her tracks.
Thor winces at his poor calculation, of course he shouldn't just ask it flat out.
'Does it matter?' Her reply is filled with disappointment and uncertainty.
'Not to me...I am sorry I brought it up... I apologise for my bluntness... it's very intriguing...'
She turns around and looks at the god. Her eyes search for any sign of a lie but she's unable to find any. Again a smile creeps onto her face.
'I've never met anyone who was intrigued by someone like me...'
'Then they must be blind or stupid...'
In the weeks that follow, Thor gets more fond of Y/n by the day. He enjoys her company and she enjoys his. He also enjoys the peace and quiet the woods being with them. So secluded and private, he's never in his live experienced anything like this before.
He also listens to your stories of when you were a gladiator, a true fighter. He hears your motives and the way you've been struggling all of your life. He gets to see it at a different angle than the books in the library.
Those people weren't bad people, just people who needed the victory money that came with it, to provide for themselves.
In return, Thor tells about his life in the castle and on Midgard. Her eyes twinkle when he tells about the Avengers, a group of noble heroes on Midgard and about his own home. The love he holds for his family.
He makes Y/n see Odin, the Allfather that she hated, in a different perspective, his motives becoming clear to her.
And then one day, when she is in the middle of a story, Thor gets closer and closer until their lips melt together.
She moves her hand to his cheek just as he moves back, he makes room for her to straddle him. His arm wraps around the warriors waist, tugging her impossibly closer.
She breaks away for air and stares into his eyes. A frown forms on her face. 'I love you...' Thor explains and her frown turns into a smile.
She forgot the feeling of being loved, the feeling of being needed, of needing someone else. But somehow she knew that once she brought the man in, she would experience that feeling again.
'I love you too...' she answers before leaning in again.
'I'd hate to interrupt..' a smooth smile voice comes from behind the kissing pair and they immediately break away.
She reaches for her spear, wielding it so the point is against the mans throat. To her surprise he just chuckles.
'Loki what are you doing here?' Thor stands up to join Y/n's side. Lowering her spear.
'Loki As in your brother?' She asks and Thor nods.
'Bright minded I see...'
'Watch it...' she replies and he smirks. 'I like her...'
'You didn't answer my question, what are you doing here?' Thor is a bit more demanding this time.
'Father needs you back... mother is worried... everyone in the kingdom is looking for you.. and I am certain if they find you here with a gladiator nonetheless.. they will riot...'
'Former gladiator... I don't do that anymore...' Y/n retorts.
'Y/n, would you like to come with us?' Thor turns to the girl and her eyes go wide.
'That's a horrible idea..'
'I.. weirdly agree with your brother... that is indeed a terrible idea..your father-'
'Won't do anything... he will not harm you in any way because he would compromise the future of the throne and with that the future of Asgard...'
'What?'
'If he harms you I will leave..with you..'
'Why?, why would you do that for me?'
'I saw things from your point of view...' he smiles.

'Thor!' His mother yells as she runs for her son. 'I was worried sick, where have you been?' She asks before looking over his shoulder, seeing her other son and a very beautiful woman.
'Who is this lovely lady?' She asks as she looks at Y/n.
'She found me, I was badly injured, she nursed me back to health and I... I couldn't help but fall for her...'
Frigga walks over to Y/n, who bows. 'Let's not make it so formal child..' she smiles before gripping her in a firm hug.
Y/n chuckles as she looks at Thor, who's smile is just as bright, it's not his mother he's worried about.
'Son..' Odins voice echoes through the throne room, Frigga lets go of Y/n, she immediately moves over to Thor.
She might be a fierce warrior but Odin can be quite intimidating.
'Why have you brought her here...'
Thor takes her hand and squeezes it a little while his face hardens at his fathers tone.
'She protected me and nursed me back to health.. I've grown fond of her...'
'She is not welcome here...'
It's like a dagger to her heart, she was once his greatest fighter, his greatest pride when it came to the arena.
'Why not?'
'She is banned from ever entering Asgardian territory again...'
'What for?, she has done nothing wrong!'
'It is not good for the people of Asgard...' he simply answers.
'Thor..' She mutters at him, making him look down at his love. 'I will go... I can't keep you away from them and I clearly am not meant to be here...' a tear slides down her cheek.
'No...'
'This isn't up for debate... you will find someone else...' her voice is raw from trying to keep the tears away. The lump in her throat getting bigger and bigger.
'Do not return here Y/n...ever...'
'Father you cannot do this!' Thor raises his voice.
'I can and I will!'

It's been weeks since Y/n brought thro back to his family, she didn't think it would be this hard to let go off him. But it hasn't been easy.
She never felt more pain than the amount she does now. She finally had a chance of real love and it was taken from her, by the same man.
And somehow she is back in the castle again, but this time around she has to fight someone entirely different, Dark Elves have taken over Asgard and have stormed the castle.
So there she is, swinging her sword and protected whoever she can find.
She runs through the castle trying to find Thor or any other family member, she has to know if they're okay. She makes her way to the royal quarters and sees Frigga is about to get attacked.
'Hey!' She yells before shoving the sword through the Dark Elf.
She pulls it out again before moving to slice the other in half. She cleans the sword against her clothes before staring at Frigga and her handmaidens.
'Go to the throne room.. I will meet you there...' Y/n pants before rushing off again.
'Thor!, Loki!' She yells over and over again.
'Y/n?'
She turns around and is met with Thor himself. He rushes up to her and lifts her into his arms.
'You came back...'
'Yes to protect the one I love...' he puts her down and she gives him a soft smile.
'I haven't been able to find my mother-'
'In the throne room... I send her and her maidens there...'
'That's where he is...' his eyes go big before he pulls her with him.
'No!' Odin yells but fails to fight off Malekith. He falls to the ground.
Y/n's hand tightens around her sword, she may still have some of her old instinct left. Protecting the Allfather.
She runs up to the scene and before Malekith can shove a sword through Odin, hers stops it. She raises it and kicks him away while Thor goes over to help his father.
'Ah.. as if it isn't Odins great warrior.. or was...'
'Leave Asgard... or you'll regret it... you've hurt enough people as it is...'
'How sweet, a girl defending a family that doesn't welcome her...' she swallows visibly.
'At least I have someone left to defend...' she retorts.
She swings her sword and misses by a mere inch. Malekith raises his own and manages to cut her upper arm. She hisses before swinging at him again.
He blocks her attempt and shoves his own sword through her. She gasps before wailing out and sinking to her knees.
'You're tired... all those years of fighting...fighting to live, to love... I will put you to rest..' Malekith pulls the sword back and Y/n falls to the ground.
Thor lets out a yell before slaughtering Malekith himself. He then kneels besides Y/n, taking her hand.
She looks at him, tears staining her cheeks. It's quiet around them. Everyone is holding their breath.
'You shouldn't have come back...you wouldn't be hurt if you would've stayed away...'
'But then your mother would've been dead... I will always fight for this family... even when it's not mine...' she coughs out.
'Odin... we need to do something...' Frigga speaks and he weakly nods. 'Help her...'
Frigga raises her hand and snaps a couple of times, getting the attention of her maidens. She walks over to Y/n while Loki pulls Thor away.
'What are you going to do to her?!' He asks angry, the question directed to his father.
'What I should've done earlier... I'm allowing Frigga to help her, she saved us, now we should save her in return...'

Bright light fills the bedroom, Y/n's eyes flutter open and a smile forms on her face when she sees the outline of a man beside her.
She moves to sit up with a groan, her abdomen still sore form the sword going through it a couple months prior.
She slides out of bed and makes her way over to the open doors leading right to the balcony.
She leans against the doorframe and chuckles softly when she hears someone come up behind her. She tilts her head and Thor's lips lovingly press against hers.
She used to be a gladiator, feared by most and then hated by all, all but one. Soon to be more.
She was once a warrior and she now would become a queen with that. But most importantly, she finally got what she always wanted. Someone to love.
