The next morning, Biana woke early, still blissful from the night before. She was committed to talking to her father before he got busy. She found the king in his office, doing some paper work.
"Dad? Can we talk?" she asked, shutting the door, and sitting in a chair.
"Good morning, Sweet Pea! Of course... anything for you." he answered focusing on her.
"Well, you see with the wedding two weeks away, I have to tell you something."
"Ok, go ahead. I'm listening." he said.
"Daddy, my heart is somewhere else. I cannot marry a man I do not love."
"But... Prince Keefe! You two make quite the attractive couple..."
"Yes, but Keefe has another girl at home. Jensi is too loud, and Dex is too quiet. None of the princes live a life I want to live." she said, "you do want me to be happy, right?"
"Well, of course honey, but it's England's tradition to be married by age 18. This system is the best we've got!"
"I know... that's why I will be married in two weeks..." Biana said
"But to whom?" Alden asked, "there are no more princes..."
"My best friend, Tam. Daddy I love him." Biana said cutting him off. "ever since we met at age six. I know he's the one. Last night was... last night was perfect, daddy. And I know he's just a stable boy but surely there's something you can do about it! You are the king..."
"Ahh baby, I don't know. I like Tam. He is an honorable man, and I can tell he loves you and will protect you with everything in him. If it was up to me, you would be married tomorrow. But with all the laws we have...I'm sorry... but..." he said, changing his answer when he saw her eyes. "I'll see what I can do."
Biana squealed and hugged him tight.

Biana and Tam sat on her bed, after a full day of a painting class. Biana was reading a magazine on her stomach, and Tam sat above her, playing with her hair.
"Sooo... I talked with daddy today." she said looking up at him with a grin.
"And..." he asked his hands going still.
"Hmmm... I don't know. Should I tell you??" she said.
"B! Tell me!" he said, anxious for the truth.
"I don't know... what's in it for me?" she asked mischievously.
Tam smiled, and lowed his face to her mouth, kissing her. Biana smiled against his mouth. He knew her too well. They kissed, but Tam pulled away, forcing her to answer.
"He said he was doing everything he could to make us happy!" she squealed out.
Tam's face went pale. "Are you joking?"
"No of course not. Why? Are you upset?" she said.
Tam's eyes went misty as he said, "No, of course not. It's just I didn't expect it to be this easy."
"Well, I would say we got lucky..." she said, sitting up and kissing him again.

Biana sat with Keefe in the main hall. She were supposed to be practicing her French, but she got caught up telling Keefe about Tam.
"I knew it!" he shouted when she told him. Dex and Jensi looked up from where they were sitting.
"Shhhhh... keep it down! No one's supposed to know yet..." she said, quieting him.
"Aww but I'm so happy for you! When's your birthday again?"
"A few weeks..." she answered.
"Well, has he proposed yet??" he asked, grinning slyly.
"No..." she said.
"Well he better. There's only a few days left! How's everything coming with the wedding?"
"Everything is planned. We're just waiting on the guest lists to be sent out."
"I am SO excited." he said, assuming he was invited.
"Well, I think you're the only one who feels that way right now. I'm all nerves!"

King Alden made his way to Biana's room, ready to make his announcement. He knocked and Linh answered, bowing to him.
"Daddy? Is that you??" Biana yelled from in her closet.
"It's me, darling." he said walking in her enormous room.
Biana came out, and tried to read his face for an answer. It was expressionless.
"Oh tell me, dad. I can't wait another minute! What did they say?"
He grabbed her hands, and said, "Honey, you can marry Tam. The--" he was cut off with her squeal and grunted as she hugged him tight.
"Oh daddy!!! Oh I'm so excited! Wait till Tam hears. Oh daddy thank you!!!" she said, hugging him again tears in her eyes, "how'd you get it passed?"
"Things are a bit easier when you are king..." he admitted, "now, go back to whatever you were doing." he hugged her one last time, and as he walked out, he motioned for Linh to come near.
He whispered in her ear, "Tonight is the night. Make sure she's surprised but wearing something suitable for camera." Linh smiled and ran back into the room. King Alden walked to Tam's house excited to tell him the good news.

There was a rap on Tam's door, and he answered it. It was the King! Tam started to bow, but the king stopped him.
"Tam, you don't have to bow to your future father-in-law." King Alden said to Tam with a grin on his face. Tam went pale.
"Your Majesty! Are you kidding??" he said. With a nod, Alden stepped forward and Tam threw his arms around him. Tam was laughing and crying.
"You take care of my daughter, you hear? Treat her right..." Alden said.
"Yes sir. I've never dreamed of this moment!!" he said, still not believing it.
"Well, you better start soon then because tonight you will propose. Everything is ready for the wedding and in a week, you will be married to your best friend."
Tam smiled, and started to get ready...
