[this message was brought to you on may 1st] guys my stepmom just pulled up not shy and wannabe dance practices, and while she was watching the girls dance i was dancing to everything for fun and she was heavily shocked when she saw i could do the dances almost perfectly 💀💀 i don't know whether to be embarrassed or happy-

"w-what ryujin unnie?" denise asks as she looks at ryujin with shocked eyes, ryujin raises an eyebrow and repeats her question, "...will you be my girlfriend denise?"
denise looks at alex with shocked eyes and an agape mouth, before looking back at ryujin and yelling with a voice crack, "oNE MOMENT UNNIE-" before she grabs alex's arm and rushes out of the entry way, into the kitchen
ryujin stands there awkwardly, she then decides to eavesdrop on the two girls who are trying to talk quietly:
"she just asked me to be her girlfriend unnie!!"
"i don't know denise.. that seems a little suspicious and out of the blue...."
"what?! you know i've had a crush on her for years!!! are you saying i should reject her!?"
"i-i don't know! you know how much of a jerk and bad person she is, she'll probably just be with you for a week and then break up with you."
as ryujin listened, she started to feel guilty for all of the bad things she's done... she's been so mean and harsh in the past, people have gotten the wrong idea about her..
this all happened because she was alone.... without her bestfriend... and now she has her back, but her chaechae doesn't remember or care about her.
she sighs and continues to listen in on the other two's conversation:
"...no she won't!! i've known her for years!"
"denise please!!!! i don't think this is a good idea...i don't trust her.."
denise huffs and walks out of the kitchen, ryujin hurries back to her previous spot to not look suspicious, and she raised an eyebrow again as she crossed her arms, giving denise a questioning look
the taller[i'm sorry i want to see these two standing together- same with denise and alex dENISE SEEMS SO TALL COMPARED TO THEM-] nervously sighed and played with her fingers as she mumbled "w-will you break my heart unnie?"
ryujins eyes widened at the question. does dumping her as soon as chaeryeong realises her feelings for ryujin count as breaking her heart? probably not, right?
so she shook her head and walked over to denise and said softly, "no... i won't. i genuinely want to be with you denise" denise smiled happily as she hugged ryujin while whisper-yelling, "yes yes yes!!!" ryujin smiles slightly at the younger, giving her a pat on the back because she doesn't like hugs
ryujin did however see alex with her arms crossed, glaring at ryujin with a death gaze before she mouthed, "hurt denise and i'll hurt you." while sliding her thumb across her neck and pointing at ryujin, basically saying she'll kill ryujin if she does anything bad to denise. ryujin did feel threatened so she just nervously nodded, continuing to pat denise's back as the younger was still hugging her
"now!!! let's do our science project!" denise says as she drags ryujin into her bedroom, leaving a very annoyed alex in their living room
"chaeryeong ssi!! ready to go?" heejin asks as she grabs her bookbag, looking at chaeryeong who is an organized mess- she was running around her bedroom, mumbling to herself while trying to make sure she had everything she'd need.
they're currently getting ready for a sleepover, at heejins house- heejins aunt is out of town, so she said the girls could have the house to themselves as long as nothing badbad was going to happen, which made the girls excited because they've never had a sleepover that wasn't ruined by one of chaeryeongs many roommates-
chaeryeong huffed, clearly annoyed at her obsessive compulsive behavior- she sighed and nodded, grabbing her bag and leading heejin out of her house.

they made it to heejins house pretty quickly, and once there, chaeryeong instantly dropped her many bags down on heejins floor, before looking around and saying cheerfully, "y-your room is nice heejin unnie!!"heejin smiles at her bashfully as she replies, "thank you!! it took me weeks to decorate!"
they weren't really sure what to do- they just stood there on opposite sides of heejins bed for a few minutes, they've never had a sleepover that wasn't interrupted by someone-
and they're both antisocial girls who don't do many activities with other humans so.. yeah it was definitely an awkward few minutes
until heejin cleared her throat and asked, "why don't we make dinner together? i know you like cooking slash baking and i run a cafe so-" chaeryeong nods at the older and smiles adorably as she says "yeah let's do that!!" heejin nodded back, and grabbed the youngers hand before leading them to her kitchen which is on the first floor of her massive house
chaeryeong is still amazed at just how big this house is- even after heejin gave her a tour- it's three stories, with a lot of bedrooms *every bedroom having it's own bathroom, a kitchen that's probably bigger than chaeryeongs house all together, and it even had a movie theater AND gym room. a fREAKING M.O.V.I.E T.H.E.A.T.E.R-
but after many turns and two large flight of stairs, they made it to the oversized kitchen!!
"soooo..what do you want to make?" heejin asked as she looked through the cabinets and pantry, chaeryeong saw some pasta noodles and her eyes lit up, "c-can we make pasta please?!" she asked excitedly as she ran to the pasta, looking around for any type of ingredients they could make into sauce to go with it
heejin smiled at the adorable younger, she nodded and replied, "sure!! we'll need a side dish though..." chaeryeong nodded and continued to look around[feel free to insult me for this, but i've said this before in other books, my knowledge on korean meals is very low which is confusing yes my life literally revolves around korea i know- so yes this is about to be a trASH MEAL] soon, the two girls found some rice of course, some kimchi, mini hot dogs, and an array of sauces and spices
chaeryeong looked at everything they found, and soon she came up with a dish! she looked at heejin and asked, "what about kimchi fried rice?! it's easy to make and we have everything here!!" heejin snapped her fingers at her and nodded, immediately agreeing with chaeryeongs suggestion
they got everything ready, and very quickly began making some basic-cheese'ish-healthy-italian pasta[there is a name for this i swear but i do not know what i'M SORRY, I'M A BASIC AMERICAN💀] with some kimchi fried rice becuase that's definitely a normal meal two teenagers make in their free time!!
the two had alot of fun in the kitchen together- it was especially fun when chaeryeong had dropped the hotdogs and screamed, "i DrOPpeD MyYY SAUsAgeS!!" in an oddly american accent- causing the other to bust a lung laughing, nearly burning their pasta as well- although it was also quite funny when heejin put the rice cooker over her head and said in a robot voice, "rice- head- has- been- act.i.vated-" all of it was overall entirely stupid, but the girls enjoyed it and got alot of wheezing / laughing out of it, at the end of the day that's all that matters, their happiness<3 i'm going all sappy now i'm so sorry-
but: being in the kitchen, cooking with someone she truly cares about, did bring back some memories of chaeryeongs past.. she tried not to think about that though, because her ryuryu has obviously forgotten about looking for her, as she promised she would do... and she has heejin!!! therefore, she shouldn't worry!! ....right?
"aaand dinner's served!!" heejin says happily as she pulls chaeryeongs seat out for her, displaying all of the lovely food the two made together as well. chaeryeong giggled and showed off her aBSOLUTELY ADORABLE SMILE!! which made heejin coo and uwu on the inside tremendously-
they both sat down and got their servings of food, heejin noticing chaeryeong not getting much- "yah! why aren't you getting much?" chaeryeong looked up at her and mumbled "becuase food is better when you're hungry...-" heejin looked at her confusingly, causing chaeryeong to groan before she continued at a very fast rate, "i only like to eat when i'm really hungry!! i'm not hungry enough now so if i only eat a little then wait until i'm really hungry, the food will taste better!!!"
heejin got a little scared from the youngers quite childish anger, but she didn't want to upset the adorable baby so she just nodded and slowly ate her pasta and kimchi fried rice, which surprisingly went pretty well together
chaeryeong soon started eating, but it was literally right after heejin finished- so heejin just sat there and wait for the younger to finish as well, watching her stuff her face with mouthfuls of rice and pasta because it was adorable; before they washed all the dishes, then they walked back up to heejins bed room
....they now also didn't know what to do-
"uhhh... movies?" heejin questions while looking at chaeryeong, asking her silently if a movie was okay. chaeryeong spaced out a bit..
"you guys always watch movie~!!"
"w-well we like movies mama!"
"and it gives me an excuse to hug chaechae..."
she came back to when heejin called her name a few times and was waving her hand in front of her, looking at her with a concerned face; heejin quietly asked, "a-are you okay chaeryeong ssi?" chaeryeong nodded with a fake smile and mumbled, "y-yeah i'm okay!! let's pick a movie now!" heejin didn't want to pressure her into saying what was wrong, and she definitely knew something was, so she just nodded back, getting out her movie collection.
they decided on the greatest showman, becuase chaeryeong loves musicals- they got comfortable on heejins kInG SiZe BEd, still reasonably distant though, and heejin played the movie on her massive flat screen tv

chaeryeong started crying whenever the family were having issues; and heejin noticed, chaeryeong was shaking and pouting while the tears came out like wATERFALLS- heejin tried not to laugh, it was adorable-
she chuckled to herself and crawled over to chaeryeong, wrapping her arms around the sensitive girl. chaeryeong hugged her back and sadly mumbled, "i-it's so s-sad!! e-even if they end up o-okay..." while sobbing dramatically, heejin nodded slowly at her words, agreeing with her to not upset her more
it was definitely an emotional time- heejin wondered what it would be like if they had watched bambi- she didn't wanna think of that though..
chaeryeong was pretty tried from the emotional rollercoaster[stream bicycle] she had been on, so she wanted to go to sleep as soon as the greatest showman finished. "c-can we go to sleep..?" she asked while rubbing her eyes tiredly. heejin nodded and replied, "yeah! we need to change and get ready for bed though...." chaeryeong groaned as she felt too lazy to do anything, but she did get up and do her night routine because she didn't want heejin to think she doesn't take care of herself-
the two were finally all ready for bed, and of course as soon as they got on their sides and got in their sleeping positions, they got on their phones.
chaeryeong was watching her nightly asmr, while heejin was scrolling through instagram
chaeryeong was up for about two hours watching asmr, while heejin had got off of her phone not long after getting on it.
they surprisingly both slept on opposite sides of the large bed, chaeryeong tried to not have any nightmares in the night-
"can i call you chaechae?!"
"i hope we can be best friends forever chaechae!!"
"wahhhh it's sow sad doe!!"
"shhshhh it's okay chaechae!!!"
"i'll always be here chaechae.."
"i-i..i wove you ryuryu!"
"BAHAHAHAAA YOU HAS FLOWOR ON YOURW NOSE!!!!"
"BOOO THIS MOVIE SUCKS!!"
"are these your song lyrics chaechae? they're so good!!"
"t-thank youu.."
"we'll be friends no matter what, alright?"
"a-alright.."
"I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE HER!!"
"YOU CAN'T MAKE ME LEAVE HER!!!"
"I-I.. I NEED HER!"
"r-ryuryu... m-my stepdad scares me.."
"why?"
"he looks at me weird.... l-like how you look at cookies!! a-and he put r-red marks on mommys arm.."
"i-i got you dis stuffie!!! h-her name ish tuk! she....wikes candy aaand her favowite color ish puwrple!!"
"w-why are you staring at me?" "you're really pretty.." "n-no i'm not...."
chaeryeong woke up hyperventilating, she sat up quickly. why does she keep thinking about her ryujin!!? she hates it so much. she pulled her knees to her chest as she sobbed quietly. she tried to stay silent though, to not wake up heejin
thankfully heejin is a deep sleeper.
she cried herself to sleep that night, hugging herself as she continued to think about her bestfriend.
