"Mama! Did you hear? There's a mass murderer, he's escaped Azkaban Prison in England. This is crazy!" The young witch ran through the halls of her family's mansion, in pursuit of her mother. Her excitement fizzed in the air around her, her bare feet slapping against each marble tile. The adrenaline pumped in Estrella's veins as she twisted and turned through the many corridors until she finally reached the living room.

"Mija! Slow down!" Her mother laughed as she bounced towards her flapping the paper in her face. It was this morning's issue of  "The Daily Prophet." ( Estrella had spent the early hours of the morning waiting outside the No-Maj's shop for it ), and as Estrella's bright eyes scanned each line of the article her voice grew louder and louder until she gasped dropping the paper.

"He is the first person to ever escape? Wow!"

"You mean to say nobody has done it before?" Her mother dropped her sewing needle and placed her glasses on the bridge of her nose. She bent down, picking the golden sheets back up, and shook them lightly before peering closely to the writing. "How did he do it?" She breathed.

"That's the mystery!" The young girl jumped up, standing on the vast coffee table, and started to pave up and down. "Maybe he Apparated?"

"If he could Apparate, would there even be a point in the jail itself?"

"Maybe he broke out? In the middle of the night and ran? I read he was an exceptional Quidditch player when he was at school."

"Azkaban prison is surrounded by water, he wouldn't have been able to get far."

"Fine then," She huffed, sitting down in front of her mother. "What do you think?"

"I think he was disguised. They didn't catch him because he wasn't himself.  An Animagus." Her mother nodded her head, watching as the gears started to turn in her daughter's head.

"An animal disguise, Dementors can't sense animals! Mama that's genius." Estrella exclaimed, rambling on about how far she wondered he could reach. Why did he escape in the first place? To murder again? To avenge the maniacal Dark Lord, Estrella has heard oh so much about? Her train of thought was soon brought to an end when a timid voice sounded out from behind them.

"La senora?" The two turned their heads to see their small house elf stood by the door. "Senor Consuelas is home."

Estrella's stomach had flipped and her heart dropped to the pits of her stomach. She dreaded when her father had arrived home, it meant she would have to suffer the next few hours pretending to be the little angel she had to lead him on to believe she was. To any other young girl, their father may be their haven, their best friend, but to Estrella, her father was nothing more than a bully.

You may think she is overreacting, but the bruises littering her skin would say otherwise. "I wonder what bad news he's brought home today." She mumbled under her breath, turning around to let her mother sort out her hair.

With one small swish and tap of her wand, Estrella's brown locks rose and started to intertwine with one another until she was finally left with two long braids down her back, tied off with a small blood-red bow. Her father's favorite colour. It made her sick.

"Buenos Tardes amor." He smiled wide seeing his wife sat in the same place she always was. Sewing a piece of cloth as she always was and without a fail, having his daughter sat in front of her. His pride and joy, the hopeful lady of his earth. "Buenos Tardes Mariposa." He bent down and kissed her cheeks lovingly.

"Buenos Tardes Papa." She smiled sickeningly sweet as his lips connected with her cheek. She watched as he shrugged off his coat, unraveled the scarf from his neck, and untied the tie from the collar of his shirt. He slowly undid the buttons of his cuffs and rolled them up to his mid-forearm. All of these were signs that not only was there bad news to come, but Estrella could also sense she wasn't going to like it.

"Mija come here." He smiled, patting the space on the couch next to him. The young witch tentatively took small steps towards him until she was sat next to him, rigid as stone. "I have some news for you and I hope that you will be as excited as I am."

"Okay." She smiled tensely, forcing herself to relax a little bit. Her father raised his hand slowly and placed it on her knee making the girl flinch. Her father noticed this and took his hand away, instead stroking one of her braids.

"I've decided that Castelobruxo, isn't quite fitting for your education."

"But Papa, it's the best wizard of school in South America?" Her eyebrows furrowed.

"Si, but it isn't the best in the world. And if my daughter is going to have an education, she is going to have the best." He smiled his left eye twitching. Estrella could tell she had already upset him and by the sound of his ragged deep breathing, he was trying to control his anger.

  "I'm transferring you to Hogwarts."

"In England? Papa that's so far!" Estrella stood up, her eyes wide and full of worry. "No! I want to stay here with you and mama!" That was partially a lie. She wanted to stay with her mother, of course, her father just came in the package deal.

"You will do as I tell you!" He snapped. "And if I say you are going to Hogwarts, you are going to Hogwarts."

"But that's not fair! What about my friends? What about my teachers? How do you know I'm going to do well, I could end up fai—"

Her useless protests were cut off by a sharp sting on her right cheek that made her stumble back and tears build in her eyes. "Failure is not an option." Her father seethed. "You are going to excel in that school Estrella Consuelas. You are going to come out top or so help me Merlin you will not live to see another summer having with our name."

He was joking...he had to be. He wouldn't disown her overcoming second. Would he?

Estrella slowly stood up, her breathing shaky. She looked up at her father with watery eyes, biting her lip as she gave him a hard glare. Say something! Speak up! She pushed herself. She slowly let her bottom lip free and opened her mouth to say something. She sniffed harshly, her nose stinging as she blinked back the many tears trying to escape. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry.

"Si Papa, I'll get packing right away."

She turned her back to the tyrant and walked towards the door, kicking herself for not shouting back. No matter how hard she tried to stand up for herself she knew she wouldn't be able to win. Her father would always have the best of her.

"I mean it Mariposa," His cold voice rang out from behind her, forcing her steps to a halt. "It is an Honour to be a Consuelas, do not think you can mock it lightly."

Estrella didn't bother to turn around and nodded her head silently, walking out of the door and slowly broke out into a run to her room. She closed  the door behind her and rested her head against the oak, trying to control her breathing.

She had the urge to look in the mirror, to see the damage her father had done. As she took small steps towards the tall mirror, the young girl slowly let her eyes rake up her refelction and lay on the nasty red mark on her cheek, and slapping a hand to her mouth turned around as she allowed a sob to escape her lips, and the thousands of tears escaping their confinement

It wasn't fair for a thirteen-year-old's life to not be theirs. It wasn't fair she had to live with brusies for speaking her mind.  And it certainly wasn't fair that nobody else was going through it. Why was she stuck with the abusive father? It was just her luck.

I wish I didn't have parents  She thought. I wish I was alone.
