Like prisons and cages
My heart's the most solitary of places
Like words trapped in pages
I'm like a closed book
Like there's something underneath
The layer of my soul
Stuck in my throat
Making it hard to breathe
Clouding my thoughts
Raining down through my eyes
Making it hard to see
You were the wiper of my windshields
When tears eclipsed them
Until the world sent you that notice
That notice.....of eviction
And I never said goodbye
To the part of me
That left with you
And you ....had forgotten about..
The part of you ...that was left behind
So I hope this.... can remind you
As the seeds you sowed remind me
Everyday
Bearing fruit...
All around me
Maybe it's enough..
They see you ...when I smile
Maybe it's enough..
I remind them of my brother's eyes
Maybe it's enough..
To keep them going for a while
At least till they forget..
And move on with their lives
Maybe..
I'm still upset
