Seokjin's P.O.V:
I had been practicing for almost six hours now. I was tired as hell but I knew that I was lacking and with our debut coming close, I felt I really needed to work harder.
Everyone had gone to take rest. Even Namjoon was gone as it was midnight now. I thought of sleeping after this last practice.
Just as I finished, my phone started vibrating.
I checked to see my mother calling.
Seokjin:
Hello mum. How are you?
Mom:
Hi Son. I am fine. How are you?
Seokjin:
I am fine.
Mom:
How is practice going? You are not overworking yourself, right?
Seokjin:
Practice is going great. I am not overworking myself. Don't worry.
Mom:
How can I not worry? You are eating regularly right. Don't skip your meals.
Seokjin:
Yes ma'am. I am eating healthy foods. You didn't just call me to ask about my meals, right?
Mom:
How did you know?
Seokjin:
I am your son. We talked in the afternoon and you asked about my meals, practice, sleep. You have never called me twice in a day and that too this late, so I figured. Now tell me, what is it?
Mom:
I got a call from your father. He found out you are staying in Seoul. He saw you.
There was silence on both sides. I didn't know what to say and my mother was waiting for my answer so she could continue.
I took a deep breath before speaking.
Seokjin:
What did he say?
Mom:
He wants to meet you.
I couldn't help but chuckle at this. How amusing.
Seokjin:
He didn't care before. Why is he suddenly so interested.
Mom:
Son, whatever happened between us is not related to you. He is your father. You don't have to-
Seokjin:
Yes, he is my father. But in the past six years he never tried to contact me. Things didn't work out between you two. But I suffered the most because of it. You both were wrong but didn't want to admit it. For the past six years, the man who was my role model didn't even ask if I was alive.
Mom:
Son, I understand but please. I don't want you to lose your father because of this.
Seokjin:
What do expect me to do? Forgive him.
Mom:
I won't tell you to do anything. Just please meet him, talk to him, hear his side of the story. Then you can decide what you want to do?
Seokjin:
*Sigh* I don't think I am ready for it?
Mom:
I know it's difficult. But at least try. You both had such a great friendship. I know you miss him. I don't want you to have any regrets.
I thought for some time. Mom was right. I wanted to know why he did what he did.
Seokjin:
Alright I will think about it.
Mom:
Okay, son. You should go and rest. I know you were still practicing.
Seokjin:
*Chuckling* Good night, mum.
Mom:
Good night.
I set the phone down. I rubbed my temples, thinking about the things that happened six years ago.
My parents had an arranged marriage. Although they didn't love each other, they still respected each other. My dad was in love with someone else and my mom didn't mind. She didn't want to force him.
Dad's family wanted a child and so I came into this world. Our life was going smoothly and my mom fell in love with him. My dad had started developing feelings for mom too. So he ended his relationship but everything came crashing down when dad's previous girlfriend decided to invade our lives again.
She came with a news of her being pregnant and caused my dad to be confused about his feelings. I was five years old at that time. My parents started fighting with each other.
She started creating misunderstanding between the two. And they fell prey to it. But she couldn't succeed in divorcing them because of my grandfather.
But after his death seven years ago, she succeeded in separating them eventually leading to divorce. She brought her son as well to take my place in dad's life.
Mom took me to her hometown starting a new life. In those six years, dad never contacted me or my mom.
I didn't know what he wanted to talk about but I knew that I wasn't ready for it.
My thoughts were like a hurricane. Sleep was long gone. Tossing and turning in bed, I finally found a comfortable position. Before I could drift off to sleep, a thought made me jolt up.
Miyoung was renting in dad's house. Maybe I could meet her if I went to meet dad. I have to meet him sooner or later. This could give me a chance to meet Miyoung.
I couldn't help but smile at my thought. I quickly grabbed my phone and sent her a message.
I knew she would read it the moment she woke up. I smiled to myself.
I laid down and closed my eyes drifting to dream land.
Miyoung's P.O.V:
I almost choked on my drink after reading his message. I quickly replied to it.
I had to wait for a few minutes before his reply came.
After he said that, I decided to get ready for the day. Today I had a plan to meet my friends at the amusement Park.
I was going to be there after a long time. I picked out clothes for the day and dolled up myself.
I was so excited.
If only I knew I was going to see him today. If only I knew how he looked like.
