All of them were on the small living room with the tea prepared by the couple earlier.
"So...how did you two knew each other?" Lisa asked motioning to Jennie and Baekhyun
"I remember attending the same school as him back in middle school"
"But you went to an exclusive school....?" Chaeyoung asked her wife
"Yeah, He's the youngest son of Byuns from Gyeonggi. Owners of a ceramic-producing company" Jennie answered to her wife "How come you didn't tell them?" as she continued asking baekhyun
"It wasn't necessary. I left my life there so that's it" Baekhyun answered "Maybe same reason as Roseanne have here on not telling us she's your wife"
"I've told you I was married to her, you just didn't expect that it is her and yeah, It's all in the past. No need to dig into it" Chaeyoung replied
"That's true" Chanyeol added "So...are you coming back here now? like, back to basics but with plus one?" as he glanced at Jennie who's obviously still not fond of him "Why are you looking at me like that? Your wife here did it to me first before and It's just my payback time"
"You kissed this human?" Jennie amusedly asked her wife pointing at the taller guy
"I pretty much kiss all of my friends love..."
"especially when you're drunk" Lisa continued
"especially when I'm drunk. Exactly. It's a long story" as Rosie tried explaining her side "Anyway... Nope, we're just here to settle things and properly bid goodbyes since were settling back there in SoKor" she continued while holding into her wife's hand
"Hey chan, you can't just call this tiny human a plus one when she owns ninety percent of the companies there in Korea and literally been on Forbes list every year" Lisa stated in a matter-of-fact tune
"I'm a music-inclined person, not a business person Pokpak, so shut it" as chanyeol bit back "Speaking of, Roseanne the Interscope called again—"
"Mama!" All eyes went into Jamie's direction
"Yes bub?" Jennie answered as they saw her daughter with magazines on her hands
"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt" as the kid noticed that the adults were talking
"It's okay Jams, What's up?"
"I just want to show mama my photos" as Jamie sported her gummiest smile
"Well, duty calls. Excuse me, everyone" Jennie announced and made her way to Jamie and they both went back to her room
"Don't tell me you didn't tell her yet?" Chanyeol asked the blonde subtly
"Tell her what?" Lisa butted in "What's going on?"
"Interscope contacted me after I sent Roseanne's song demos since I had the connection with some producers and obviously, they loved all the songs we sent and now they wanted to meet her"
"Oh my God Chaeng, That's good news! Why you didn't inform us?"
"I wasn't sure about it yet and from the view of our situation right now, It's too risky" she explained
"What's risky about there? It's been your dream since you got into music. I thought you went home because of this" Chanyeol pointed out
"Hello? Again? She's Jennie Kim's wife?" Lisa answered for her best friend
"So?"
"You wouldn't understand, babe" Baekhyun butted in. He knows what exactly Lisa is talking about, He came from that kind of family too
"What's there to understand? It's Roseanne's dream we're talking about here. Is it that hard for her to have her own dreams rather than be under Jennie's shadow"
"Wow, that's a low-blow Chan" Lisa commented while she made her way to her best friend's side
"It's true though, You can't just give it up just because of her, you know?" as chanyeol continued
"Chan, stop it" his husband trying to prevent him to worsen the situation
"It is my decision, so please respect it. If they liked my songs, then so be it. I just don't want to do anything about it at the moment" Rosie replied obviously not wanting to open up the conversation even more
"We'll go home for a while and chill out for a bit guys, I know you've had a long flight and this is not really a good time to argue" as baekhyun eyed his husband "I left the keys at the counter"
"Right. That's a good thing to do" as Lisa stood up as well
"I'm sorry Roseanne, I didn't mean to —" Chanyeol motioned to the blonde
"It's okay, I understand your point. We'll just talk again if we're both on the same page"
"Alright. I'm sorry" as he side hugged chaeyoung before leaving their house
Chaeyoung slumped back on their couch while rubbing the bridge of her nose. The somewhat argument she had with chanyeol didn't help her jet lag either. They just got back and it feels like the universe is throwing non-stop problems into her and her family. She does get chanyeol's point, really, it's just that she has a lot of things in her hand right now that her friends have no idea. She can't help but wonder how would it be if they didn't come back to Seoul?
"Wanna talk about it?" Lisa came back after sending their friends home
"Not really"
"Okay. You know I'll be always here for you, right?"
"Of course. What would I even do without you"
"As nice as it sounds, I'm really worried that you're saying it without sarcasm" Lisa knows her best friend deeply. That includes when Chaeyoung gets sappy on sharing her feelings, things are about to get serious
"Maybe it's the jet lag that's talking for me right now, we really need to rest"
"Yep. We'll just order takeouts later since we literally have nothing on our kitchen"
"Okay. I'll do the groceries tomorrow"

Night came along and all of them are already settled after they had dinner. Jamie's fast asleep in her room, same with Lisa that was obviously tired from the flight earlier. That left us to the couple that was obviously been distant after chaeyoung had the talk with chanyeol. Rosie knows that Jennie probably heard it earlier but she's just too tired to acknowledge it. She went to Jamie's room earlier only to find Jamie playing alone whilst Jennie just got back from the bathroom. The CEO was quiet and didn't even bat an eye on her. It goes on until dinner and thank god for Jamie and Lisa that are always saving the awkward atmosphere. After kissing their daughter goodnight, it's already a routine for them that Jennie would take the bathroom first while chaeyoung wait and prepare clothes for her. They literally did it smoothly just like any other nights. well, except for not talking to each other. After chaeyoung finished her bath, she went out immediately noticed that Jennie's still isn't on their bed.
Few minutes after her bedroom door opened again and Jennie entered quietly.
"I just checked on security, They'll be having rounds on duty and they also have a place to stay just not far from here" Jennie informed her wife while rummaging her suitcase that was neatly placed on the floor
"Oh okay...That's nice. I hope they're having enough rest"
"They are. We have lots of them with us"
Chaeyoung just nodded, not really sure how to answer her wife that's obviously talking to her in her monotonous tone.
"I will go to get groceries tomorrow, Do you wanna come with me? We should bring Jamie too since Lisa will not be around but if you don't want, you can just stay here" Rosie, sitting on their bed, informed the brunette while looking at her in her every move
"It's fine. We can go with you tomorrow" Jennie answered and made her way to chaeyoung's side
"Alright"
"Let's talk" Jennie reached for her wife's hand
"You're not mad?"
"Well, I mean It's making me sad since I thought we established that we will not gonna hide anything from each other again but here we are"
"I'm sorry"
"Tell me about it?" the CEO asked and rosie already know what they were talking about
"So...you already know that I had a background in music when we were in college, right?" Jennie nodded in understanding. She has heard chaeyoung sing before but the latter never made an attempt in making music so this is kinda new to her "Yep. That and when I came here, I mean, little Jamie and I settled here, I admit I wasn't in the right state or somehow I needed something to vent out my emotions. First I tried to paint but when I sat down, brush and paint on my hands and canvass in front of me, I can't move or even think of one thing to make. It happened for a few days up until I heard Lisa playing her ukelele and that made me think about doing music again. So I settled myself with a piano, played songs that I knew and then I was starting to make melodies and words came with it. It was pretty much obviously about you and what I feel at that moment. Two years after when chan and baek transferred next door, we got to meet them and it happened that chanyeol also writes music too. I didn't expect him to like my work but he helped me through it. I didn't even plan on making it public since it became my most prized possession because it contains our story and I feel like it'll make me vulnerable if all people can hear it and see right through me. But then, he was persistent so we finalized it and sent it to the producers and a week ago, chan called me saying that they liked it and want me to sing it myself.
"Wow..." Jennie muttered, she never thought her wife would be amazing like this. I mean, she's already amazing but knowing she has more potential and talent to offer, she can't help but fall in love even more. "That's big deal love..."
"Not really..."
"It is!... and I'm sorry"
"I'm sorry for what?"
"I'm sorry if our situation gets in the way at the moment. I mean you can do it right now if you want to but if not I promise, after this, we will get through it right away. I'll do everything --"
"Hey...hey..." Rosie calmed down her wife that was obviously overthinking again "Calm down"
"I'm sorry if I got in the way" Jennie replied in a low tone "I'm sorry... If I shove my plans all over yours without thinking that you already have a life here and would probably do better without me. I just love you and Jamie so much that I wasn't aware that I am being selfish by just having you to myself and not--"
"Okay...Stop right there" Chaeyoung cuts her off "What we decided and where we are right now is because we both wanted it. I chose this path with you and we'll get through it together. Yes, It crossed my mind on what would it be if we didn't came back to Seoul but still, I'd rather be with you than anything else in the world. Alright?"
"But this is like, your dream..."
"Yeah, before or maybe there's still a little left in me but our family is my priority now, you and Jamie. I am glad about what It reached but I wouldn't trade it with you love. I'm contented and happy on where I am today so please stop thinking nonsense, I got this and I got you. You don't need to worry,okay?"
"I'm so--" as Jennie attempted to apologise one more, rosie stopped it by kissing her
"Stop apologising because you are not at any fault. Just stay with me, with us?" the blonde held her wife's face
"Okay" the brunette smiled. She can't still believe it but she literally got lucky to have chaeyoung as her wife.
and as for Rosie, she knows Jennie do this a lot, overthink and blame herself with whatever it is and she swore she will never get tired reassuring her wife all over again. Because that's what couple do, right? Figure things out together. So they slept that night with a light heart and smiles on their faces.

Three of them are on the local grocery store where chaeyoung does her grocery shopping since before. She's already accustomed to the people working and even the places of the things she needed to buy. It felt nostalgic for her even though she just left for almost three months. It was always exhausting to do it alone but now, she has her wife and their daughter with her whining about the gummy bear they both wanted.
Because the thing is, aside from Jennie's own money that she has, she also have her salary being the CEO and it all goes straight to chaeyoung. It's the money they spent on their food, bills, leisure or whatever they want. Though rosie has her own money too, the brunette insisted on giving her salary to chaeyoung because she has this mindset that "whatever you have is yours and whatever's mine is yours too". Jennie explained to her too that it's not for her to feel inadequate, It's her duty to provide for the family and rosie to manage everything they have. So they both figured it out and well, It works well for them.
"Mum, just this one, please?" Jamie sporting her puppy dog eyes showing her mum a pack of gummy worms
Chaeyoung glanced at her wife "What do you think --" and here they are, Jennie also smiling with another pack on her hands "Oh God... really, babe?"
"Please?"
"Whatever. Just that one, okay?" as Jamie nodded while shooting her candy at the basket same with her mama
Chaeyoung laughed at the two and continued to do her shopping whilst Jamie and Jennie push the cart for her.
"Love, here" as rosie handed Jennie her wallet while they were on the line "I forgot to get some oil, I'll be back before you finish up"
"Oookkayyy. Be back quickly!"
It was already their turn and Jennie slowly puts the grocery on the belt to give chaeyoung time to get back. The cashier eyes Jennie and of course, who wouldn't? Jennie's beautiful and having her in a foreign country makes her more even attractive.
"Hi, You're new here?" as the cashier tries to open up conversation, assuming that Jennie is delaying her shopping for some reason "I'm Julius, by the way" as he tried to subtly flex his body
Jamie looks at her mama that's obviously not interested in opening up conversation and keeping her mouth shut since her mummy taught her not to talk to strangers
"You have a cute sister" he continued
"Frowning doesn't really suits you, You're beautiful" Geez, how can chaeyoung be so slow
"Jamie, can you head to our car first?" she asked her daughter after she called out one of their guards
"Sure, Ma" as Jamie walked out with the security guiding her
"Is she your daughter? Wow! You don't really look like a mom already" as the annoying cashier keeps talking while packing the groceries but Jennie could only give him the fakest smile she had
"Is he bothering you, love?" Chaeyoung appeared behind the CEO and she can clearly see the brunette sigh in relief. Chaeyoung placed the bottle of oil and that seems to be their last item.
The blonde eyed the cashier and knew right away that he's a new hire of the store. She will surely report him to the manager right after.
"Oh, I already know your styles,ladies. You're only friends and backs up one another to stop us, boys, from --" as the cashier's jaw dropped when chaeyoung slowly grabbed Jennie's face and kissed her infront of him. Good thing that people were minding their own business as they do.
As much as Jennie liked the kiss and was turned on because of Chaeyoung's jealousy and possesiveness, the blonde ended it with a smirk on her face while looking at the cashier. Rosie picked out some cash from her wallet that was held by Jennie and paid their total bill.
"Next time, watch the hands" As rosie lifted both their left hands that shows their matching wedding rings. "They'll get the bags for us" as rosie announced while he motioned the security with them.
Still, not able to talk, Jennie was amused about her wife's action. Rosie held her hand all the way out still frowning. "Why you didn't tell him you're married? You just let him talk to you like that?" the blonde is fuming
"I don't want to cause any scene"
"But we just made out in public?" as they stopped in front of their car in parking lot
"Well..." Jennie smiled, looking at her wife being jealous is really driving her crazy
"Oh God, Stop with that smile. I'm about to rip someone's head off"
"You're hot when you're jealous"
"Really? That's what it is?"
"Yeah"
"Whatever. Go and give him your phone number then" as the blonde entered the driver's seat of their car, sulking.
Jennie could only laugh at her wife's action. She entered the car while rosie's still looking straight forward. It's rare to see chaeyoung this jealous and for her, this somewhat a gold moment.
"Chill out, love. I didn't even replied to him one bit"
"Oh yes! Mum! The cashier told mama she's beautiful" as Jennie wide-eyed, not expecting her daughter to tell her mum about that. Not really helping jamie.
"Oh, does he, now?" Rosie eyed her wife
"What?"
"Damn it, It's true though" the blonde replied still annoyed but then Jennie reached out for her free hand and kissed the back of it
"I love you" she said while smiling. She loves seeing this side of chaeyoung and of course, she would do anything to remind her that she's still madly in love with her
Chaeyoung pulled her hand from her wife and placed it back in the steering wheel "...love you too" she whispered
"What? what was that again?" Jennie clarified
"I love you too" chaeyoung answered as she quickly glanced at her wife
"That, you definitely do" Jennie replied still sporting that smug smile on her face

Jennie's birthday came and of course as CEO's wish, it was a lowkey birthday just for the four of them. Jennie was extremely glad even though she woke up extra early but with a nice gift from her wife ;) and was woken up again after she slept a few hours more after chaeyoung tire her out by her daughter with a birthday card and pancakes. They had a simple lunch together that chaeyoung had prepared that consists of all her favourite homemade food. They also spent the afternoon watching the gift that Lisa gave the CEO which is the compiled home videos of Jamie ever since she was born up until her last birthday. Lisa pretty much spent her time editing it and was glad that her new friend loved it.
At dinner, they planned to eat outside together with the byuns and the team that helped Jennie with the gala that are all based in Melbourne. They were glad to meet each other again and of course spent time on talking about the exeperiences they had.
Jennie could only think how simple their life would be if they aren't on the spotlight. Back in Seoul, all eyes were on them, she didn't ask for it but still thankful for her parents for the opportunity that they have given for her to give her family a nice life.
They've enjoyed the day especially Jennie that spent all throughout the day smiling on how lucky she is. But then, all of it was just a mask of what it is to come.
The day after her birthday, Chaeyoung went out to go to the school where she teach back then to settle her files and resignation as well as Jamie's transfer. Jamie, Lisa and her are just chilling at their living room watching netflix, waiting for rosie to get back so they can head out and resume their sightseeing around Melbourne when Alfred called her.
"Jennie, I think you need to cut your vacation short"
"Why? What happened Alfred?"
"It's about Ma'am Jisoo" and there, Jennie's face became pale while looking both Lisa and Jamie
