{Rosemarie's POV}
"And that's why Ryker Pavesi can kiss my a—" Lachlan's hand was quick to reach across the table and cover Dante's mouth.
"Dante, that's my best friend's brother!" She scorned, with a warning glare.
Dante rolled his eyes, tipping back the rest of his whiskey. "I don't give a damn. That man ruined my life."
"No, he didn't—your vampires that got out of control did." She snapped and he sighed, slouching in his chair.
"I suppose you're not completely wrong."
"No, I'm not." She huffed, relaxing back into her chair.
I tried not to laugh at the two. I knew how infuriating Ryker could be at times, but I did agree with Lachlan when it came to who was wrong. I glanced over at Mathias who seemed to be enjoying his whiskey a little too much.
"Well, it's getting late. Thank you two for inviting us out for dinner and drinks, it was nice." I smiled, starting to stand from my chair.
"Of course, don't hesitate to come to visit again. Enjoy your stay." Lachlan smiled.
Mathias noted my goodbye and drunkenly stood from his chair.
Lovely.
I wrapped an arm around his waist as he threw his arm over my shoulder. "Just walk normally." I yell-whispered and heard his soft chuckle.
"Do you think I'm drunk, love?" He mocked as we started to walk away from the table.
"Looking at the empty beer bottles and glasses on the table from your whiskey, I'd think yes," I grumbled.
"It takes a lot for a werewolf to get drunk, Rose."
"Yet here I am helping you walk."
He let out a burp and shrugged. "Those tequila shots with Dante probably weren't the best idea."
"You think?" I snickered.
Our driver was waiting for us outside the restaurant and I curiously looked around hoping no one would see the Queen of the wolves helping her King into the car.
Once we were settled, I couldn't help but look over at Mathias whose head rested against the car's window.
"Why did you let yourself get so drunk?"
"Well, I started to take shots with Dante to be kind since he offered. Then he just got annoying and I found myself downing whiskey and beers. How I got here... I couldn't tell you."
I raised a brow. "I think you just did." I teased.
"Hm, did I? I can't remember." I giggled at his response, shaking my head.
I couldn't be mad at him. This was the first time I have ever seen him let loose like this— not a care in the world.
"Rose?"
"Yes, Mathias?"
"I'm so glad I married you. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."
"Likewise, Mathias." I leaned over, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"I'm serious. I can't wait to start a family with you."
I looked away from his heated stare, my cheeks flushed. "I can't wait either."
"Goddess I'm drunk!" He groaned, rubbing his face.
"Yes you are, King Mathias, and we are at our hotel." I winked, getting out of the car after my door was opened.
I walked around to Mathias' side and stood to wait as our driver opened his door.
"Good Goddess." He groaned, stumbling out.
I was quick to help him stand upright. "Smile and wave," I mumbled to him as people gathered around the front doors of our hotel.
Our security easily made way for us and I watched as Mathias expertly smiled and waved as if he wasn't completely hammered.
He never fails to amaze me.
We made it up to our room surprisingly easy and the minute we walked inside, Mathias was quick to run and jump on the bed face down. I laughed at his starfish position and made my way over to him.
"Mathias?"
"Hm?
"Are you okay?"
"Just peachy." He slurred.
I held back my laugh, taking his shoes off and tossed them to the side.
"I'm going to shower, try not to throw up while I'm gone, will you?"
"Can I join?" He was quick to perk up.
"Not in the shape you are." I pointed a finger at him.
"But—"
"No buts. You can join me in the morning." I replied, turning on my heels.
"That is so far away!"
"It's a few hours! Have you looked at the time?"
He glanced down at his watched and raised a brow. "Yeah, I'll wait." He dropped his face back into the comforter of the bed and I shook my head, grabbed some clothes, and walked into the bathroom.
As I was showering, I heard a loud crash causing me to yelp.
"Mathias?!" I called out but got no response.
I quickly hopped out of the shower, throwing a towel around me and darted out of the bathroom.
I halted, seeing Mathias' Lycan form growling at the door.
"Mathias?"
His head turned and glanced at me from the side and he shook his head as if saying 'don't come near'.
Confused, I slowly backed up.
'Nikobe, what's up with him? I can feel his anger through the bond?'
I heard her snicker. 'He's drunk and isn't realizing he's in vampire territory at the moment. He can smell the vampires outside the door. I think it's housekeeping.'
"Oh my Goddess, Mathias, it's housekeeping!" I grumbled, walking towards him, but his huge paw reached out, gently pushing me away.
I growled, dropping my towel and shifted into my Lycan form.
'It's housekeeping!' I yelled through the bond.
I shoved him out of the way, reaching for the door but he pushed me away from it again.
Nikobe's anger spiked and she was quick to take control and forcefully pushed him a few feet away letting out a short roar. She threw the door open and the maid who held bedding was quick to let out a shriek and speed away.
We watched her zooming figure dart down the hall and Nikobe shrugged, shutting the door.
'I don't think she likes Lycans.' Nikobe chuckled. 'Now pick up the damn table you knocked over, you baboon.' She snapped at him, giving me back control.
It was amusing to watch Mathias' Lycan form huff and pick up the table and gently place its things back on top of it.
I shifted back, picking up my disposed towel and wrapped it around me. "Can you please shift back now so I can finish my shower? And put some clothes on."
Mathias slowly shifted back and rolled his eyes as he grabbed some sweatpants and pulled them on. "How was I supposed to know it wasn't a threat?"
"Oh I don't know, did you not hear her say 'housekeeping'?"
He looked away from my glare and slowly shrugged. "People lie."
I scoffed, turning away from him. "Are you sobered up now?"
"Slightly... Nikobe is a bitch when she wants to be."
"Serves you right." The voice wasn't mine but Nikobe's.
"Screw off." He grumbled, dropping back onto the bed.
"She doesn't like your tone and neither do I. I don't like drunk Mathias. Drink some water." I glared.
"Oh please, you love me."
"Sometimes."
He gasped, looking up at me and I smirked at his baffled face.
"That hurt."
"Oh, you poor baby." I mocked.
"Keep talking like that and see what I do about it." He warned, raising a brow.
I couldn't help but grin. "Do what? Stumble to me?"
I let out a shriek as he got up lightning-fast and jerked me to him as he stared down at me with a devilish grin. "You were saying?"
I stared up at him speechless. "Cat got your tongue, Rose?"
"I don't know whether to think that was oddly hot or slap you," I replied.
"I'd go with the first one." he winked, leaning in for a kiss.
I pushed his face away and shook my head. "No kisses until the morning."
"Buzzkill," he grumbled, letting me go, and retreated back to the bed.
"Goodnight, Mathias."
He looked back over at me and couldn't help but smile. "Goodnight, babe."
