"Hello—?" Malak hesitantly spoke into her microphone after placing her headphones on and connecting to the server's ongoing discord voice call that consisted of Tommy, Tubbo, and Schlatt.
"No, but if you think about it," Schlatt insisted. "The process of singing the birthday song and cutting the cake is extremely satanic."
"Hi, Malak!" Tubbo chirped happily.
"Malak!" Tommy exclaimed. "Also, what?" he scrunched his nose.
"No, but seriously, imagine it this way," Schlatt proceeded to explain. "A small amount of people huddle around an object on fire, chanting ritualistically a repetitive song in unison until the fire is blown out and a knife is stabbed into the object."
"Wow," Malak chuckled. "You must be fun at parties."
"Birthday parties," corrected Schlatt.
"I'm adding inviting you to my birthday party on my bucket list," Malak laughed. "At least you'll be more fun than playing fucking Monopoly."
"You're friends with Zayn right?" Schlatt remembered. "Yeah, and the twins too."
"Yep," she nodded.
"Man, sometimes they won't shut up about you," Schlatt stated. "It's so fucking annoying."
"Ouch?"
"Yeah— but I can see why!" he quickly added. "You're fun."
"I'm sorry, did you just compliment me?"
"I'm stating the truth," he retorted. "They keep talking about how funny it is that you're what 5'7 or 5'8? The worst thing about being tall is people who are like 'Do you play basketball? You should play basketball!' Well you fucking leprechaun do you collect gold you snivelling pile of shit?"
Malak burst out laughing.
"Well," Tubbo said. "The worst thing about being short is tall people using us as an armrest."
"Nobody asked you, you fucking gremlin," Schlatt replied and both Tommy and Malak laughed loudly.
Someone else joined the call.
"Hello?" Dream said.
"Hi, Dream!" Tubbo greeted.
"I can't stop laughing," Wilbur wheezed.
"I'm sorry," Tommy recalled. "Malak, did you say you played Monopoly for your birthday?"
"No," she grumbled. "Why must you remind me?"
"Yeah, what happened?" Tubbo asked.
"Bro, we were gonna go to the beach, my friends and I reserved a whole fucking club to ourselves but it started raining, so we had to go back inside the hotel. We played Monopoly when half of us were drunk!"
"Wow," Schlatt said.
"But I'm gonna say, nothing feels better than winning Monopoly. Not love, not sex, not free pizza, nothing."
Dream coughed.
"I'm sorry," Wilbur said. "But have you tried Pizza?"
"Yes," Malak replied. "And it doesn't compare to owning half the board and watching the light die in your friends' eyes as you're taking their money and feel your friendship slowly deteriorate."
The call went silent.
Dream coughed again, louder this time.
"You know what, Malak," Schlatt finally spoke. "I like you."
"HA!" Tommy yelled. "LET'S GO!"
"And if we don't play Monopoly sometime together, I'm gonna be really upset," Schlatt added.
"I don't think you'll be able to handle losing against me," Malak pointed out, smirking.
"Funny of you to think you'll win in the first place," Schlatt retorted.
"Let's see who'll be the one laughing after I do."

"THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTING!" Wilbur hollered and the others winced.
"We're not fighting?" Malak replied.
"Also, we're sophisticated adults," added Schlatt. "Just last week I purchased a vegetable."
