my cherry red car beeps as i press the lock button on my keys. i walk around the front of my car and i am met with a tall, brunette, muscular man who is blocking my path; aka george's apartment neighbor.
"hey cutie." he calls out to me. i flash a fake smile in response and try to push past him. instead, he steps in front of me and i dramatically roll my eyes. "i see you come by here often, your parents live here or something?" his accent is thick and deep. i simply shake my head no, not wanting to have to communicate with this stranger for a more second longer . "well anyways i have to say you're pretty hot and i'm gonna take you to dinner later tonight. how's 8 work for ya?"
with that, i freeze in my position. i know this man, who i have never talked to in my life, did not just try to force me on a date with him. i try to collect myself but the bad bitch inside me knows i have to respond with something witty.
"no 8 does not work for me. in fact, no time works for me because i rather drag my bare ass against burning coals for the rest of my life than go on a date with you." he looks stunned. as if no one has ever rejected him before. "and by the way that was the worst way to ask out any lady so i recommend maybe taking some flirting classes. now if you could move the hell out of my way my boyfriend is waiting for me." i try to again push past him feeling satisfied with myself, but he stops me right in my tracks, towering over me.
i glance up to george's bedroom window which can be seen from the sidewalk. i see that his curtains, which were previously closed, are now slightly peeked open. i'm internally praying he's seen me being bothered by this obnoxious idiot and is coming down to break it up.
"excuse you bitch, i complimented you, offered a free meal and a night with me. you don't get to say no." there's no way this guy is serious. as soon as i'm about to go off on this douche i'm interrupted by a familiar voice.
"hey! get the hell off." the tall man turns and reveals george standing at the door. george walks towards us and swiftly steals my hand. i squeeze it tightly and smile at him.
"dude who the fuck are you?" the stranger asks. george and i both laugh mischievously and we get even louder when we notice the puzzled look on his neighbor's face. "doesn't matter just leave us alone dUdE." george responds. the douchebag scoffs and tries to step between me and george. george is quick to pull me to his side, and i purposely stick my foot out to trip him, making him lose his balance. he stumbles over and crashes on the dry concrete sidewalk. he groans in pain as george and i make eye contact and smile. i glance back down to the sidewalk and bend down to his level.
"we're gonna be going now but you have fun at dinner alone i'm assuming." he looks up to me and rolls his eyes. i step over his torso as george leads me back to door of his complex. the elevator ride up to his apartment is silent but comfortable. finally we make it to his door. i rest my chin on his shoulder and watch him fiddle with his keys, searching for the right fit. he unlocks the door and we step in, the warmth hitting my face almost immediately.
"that man was disgusting." george says, breaking the silence. he walks to his kitchen, resting his elbows on his marble island. i laugh i walk over to him and his eyes follow me. i hop onto the island and scoot over to him. he placed his hands on my knees and i lean forward. "great thing you were there for me huh?" i say lowly, almost in a whisper. he hums and weakly smiles.
i rest my arms on his shoulders and out foreheads touch. at this point his hands have moved up to my thighs as my legs part, giving him space so i can pull him closer. i finally break the tension and plant a slow but sweet kiss on his soft lips. i feel his cheeks burn against my skin. good to know i still have that effect on him. i pull away and run my fingers through his hair. "you have all my love george." i say and pull back in for a second kiss.
