KOLE

Penelope led me to the clinic in front of us when I suddenly felt sick. I moved away from her and vomited into the bushes. Penelope was glaring at me when I turned back around and I wiped my mouth.

"I'm sorry..."

"Just hurry up."

I followed her inside and we told the lady at the front that we were here. She left and we sat in the waiting room for a good bit. I looked at all of the posters in the waiting room of vagina diagrams and pregnancy progression charts. Where exactly were we? I thought we were supposed to be at a clinic or something? Suddenly, the door opened and a man came out.

"You must be Kole Sprint." The aged man said.

"Yeah... um..."

"Come with me."

We got up and the man led us down a hallway when I heard someone yell and a woman quickly left another room at the other end of the hallway. I made a face, wondering what kind of place this was. We went into an office and I sat in a chair next to Penelope as the doctor sat behind a desk.

"From what your mother tells me, you have no recollection of most of your life, am I correct?"

"Um... yeah, I guess... Who are you?"

"I'm Dr. Bluewater."

"Oh... What am I doing here? This looks like a place for people to have babies and stuff."

"Well, you're not wrong but I offer more services than that. Do you understand what's happening around you? How you got here?"

"No. I don't..."

"What do you remember?"

"Uh... I remember waking up in a hospital, not knowing what was going on. I don't really know my name, this lady says she's my mother, and something is wrong with me that I don't understand."

Dr. Bluewater made a face and drummed his fingers on the desk.

"Ms. Sprint, can I talk to Kole alone, please?"

"I guess so..."

She stood up and left, closing the door behind her. Dr. Bluewater looked at me and leaned back in his chair.

"Kole, I'm going to tell you something that you probably won't understand. Are you prepared for that?"

"I don't understand anything much right now anyway so... sure, I guess."

"You were taken by an alien race called the Elbaskins. They had abducted a friend of yours named Max Taylor about two years ago. Supposedly, Max died due to an... "experiment" and being beaten up by a young man named Dawaen. After about five or six months, the Elbaskins came back and you were abducted with Dawaen and another boy named Mars. You came back here with them a few days ago."

"Oh... Well, yeah, that does sound crazy."

"Not as crazy as what I am about to tell you."

"It's crazier than being abducted by aliens?" I asked, finding that already hard to process.

"Yes, even crazier than that. You see, these aliens were trying to do something when they abducted Max Taylor the first time. When he came back, it was revealed that these aliens were using him as a test subject for helping their race's species. In other words, they impregnated him. He was a success and so they came back for more... you and Dawaen. The reason you are not exactly of sorts is because you are pregnant."

I blinked at him and looked down at my stomach. I started laughing.

"Are you serious?" I laughed harder. "I may have lost my memory but I know that humans procreate with the woman being pregnant, not the other way around. If you were going to play a joke that badly on me, Doctor, you should have picked something different." I chuckled. "A pregnant dude..."

"Would you like for me to convince you?"

"Sure, sure, whatever makes you sleep at night."

Dr. Bluewater nodded and motioned for me to follow him out the door.

Penelope was out there and she turned when the door opened.

"We're going to take a sonogram of your son's stomach. Would you like to come?"

"I'd like to have a definitive answer." she said.

I made a face at her. "What do you mean?"

No one answered me as we walked down the hallway to another room. There was equipment set up and a bed there. Dr. Bluewater told me to go ahead and get on the bed. I obliged to his silly request and laid down on it. He pulled up my shirt and squirted some gel onto it, turning on the machine. He then put the wand thing to my stomach and started moving it around when this faint thud came from the inside of my stomach. I watched Dr. Bluewater as he moved the wand a little more and then it was clear as day. A thumping noise...

"There it is." he said.

I stared at the screen in complete shock. I couldn't deny it... It wasn't developed enough to look human but it was clear that it wasn't a tumor or anything because it was moving a little.

"Oh my god..."

"I knew it." Penelope said, standing up and pacing. "I fucking knew it..."

"I... I didn't..." I started.

"Ms. Sprint, this is really not the time to be like this."

"Time to be like what? Ashamed? Humiliated? Disgusted?"

With ever word, I winced, feeling like I was being cut open from the inside. I turned to Dr. Bluewater.

"Can you get it out of me?"

Penelope looked back and then looked at the doctor as well.

"Can you?" she asked, a hopeful look in her eyes.

Dr. Bluewater made a face and stood up, adjusting his glasses.

"I could, but I'm not going to."

"What do you mean?" Penelope asked.

"You see, Ms. Sprint, your son was there when Max Taylor was beaten within an inch of his life and then died by those injuries. He was an accomplice to the crime. Dawaen Cyrio may have beaten him up and killed him, but your son led Max straight to him, coaxed him and befriended him to gain his trust. The aliens came back to get your son and Dawaen because they were mad. You caused the death of their specimen... as punishment and a further way of researching, they decided to kidnap the ones who did it and experiment on them.

"So, no, I'm not going to do anything about this because your son deserves to be in this situation. He may not remember what he did, but everyone else does and if not for his involvement of the murder of Max Taylor, he wouldn't have had this happen to him."

Penelope snarled and grabbed my arm. "Then we will get it done some other way. We don't need you to get the job done. Come on, Kole."

She snatched me away from the bed and practically hauled me out of the clinic.

***********************

We went to at least seven different doctors that day and when Penelope mentioned my condition, no one would even let us stay in the building. We were kicked out and yelled at for most of the day. Even when we went to go get something to eat, we were shunned and scorned as if I was someone with the plague. What is with this town? Why do we even live here?

***********************

"I'm sick of this." Penelope said as we turned into our driveway. "We can't do anything because of *you."

"I'm not exactly thrilled about it either, lady..."

I felt a sting and realized that she had reached over and slapped me.

"Everything was going well until you came back. Not only did you come back, but you're pulling this amnesia bullshit that I know isn't real. You can stop the act. Now, I've got to deal with that disgusting issue growing inside of you, being shunned and pushed aside like the Taylors were when their son came back looking like you. You're a disgrace to men the world around."

"I didn't ask for this! I didn't ask to forget everything and I definitely didn't ask to be pregnant! I mean, jeez..." She smacked me *again and I gave her a dirty look as I tried to keep the sting from my cheek. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

"You make me sick. When we go into the house, you will keep yourself away from me as much as possible. I don't want you to talk to me unless absolutely necessary. When I make dinner, you will not address me. If I get take out, I will text you. You won't leave this house for anything, do you understand?"

"So you're going to keep me a prisoner?"

"I'm going to keep you away from the outside world. Maybe if nobody sees you, they will forget you exist."

"How can you be my mother when it's clear that you hate me?"

"Sometimes you end up with baggage you never really wanted and have to live with it for the rest of your life."

She left the car and I felt like crying. Why would she do this to me? Was I really that bad of a person?
