The North Tower was where my next class was- Divination. On the way up, Daphne was telling me about how Professor Trelawney was absolute rubbish at the class. I didn't mind taking the class, however, at Ilvermorny it was a simple but fascinating class. Hopefully it will be the same at Hogwarts.

Because Divination is an elective, there are Gryffindors, Slytherins, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuffs all in one class. I'm still getting used to the houses being divided- everyone at Ilvermorny was friends with everyone, regardless of house.

The North Tower stood at the top of a spiral, twisty staircase. The staircase lead to a trapdoor in the ceiling, which opened to reveal the classroom. The room was decorated with lamps, perfumes, crystals, etc. It gave a strange aura.

"Good day," The woman, Professor Trelawney I assume, says a few minutes after Daphne and I sit down. We decided to sit with the rest of the Slytherins- Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Blaise, Daphne and I.

Professor Trelawney is a tall, thin woman with enormous glasses covering up most of her face.

"Today, my dears, we will be studying our Horoscopes. Your astrological sign corresponds to your date of birth- if you don't know your sign, call me over and I'll help you out," She says lightly.

"I'm an Aries," Daphne turns to me proudly.

I nod, opening up my Divination textbook to the Horoscopes page. "I'm a Gemini, I believe," I tell her. I've never really studied horoscopes often, but I believe June 5th is the Gemini sign.

Professor Trelawney nods at me. "Correct. You look very familiar...." She trails off. "You're Edeline's child?" She asks me, an eyebrow raised.

"Yes," I answer her.

Trelawney's expression doesn't change. "I remember her, we were classmates many years ago," She says before turning around and helping some Hufflepuff students with their horoscopes.

"Grey," Draco whispers from behind me.

I turn around with a blank expression. "Yes?"

"Do you know what sign the fifth of June is?" He asks me, his voice still in a whispery tone. I can tell he's being quiet to avoid the other Slytherins noticing us talking. He must be really embarrassed of me if that's the case.

"Screw off, Malfoy," I say, "Who told you when my birthday was anyway?" I ask.

Draco wrinkles his nose. "I was asking you about my birthday, you twat," He tells me. "It's a shame we share the same birthday, I'll never be able to look at the fifth of June the same again," He sneers.

Professor Trelawney stands up from her desk abruptly and stalks over to the two of us. "Did you two say you were both born on the fifth of June?"

I turn my head up to her. "Yes, sorry for being loud, I was just helping Draco with his astrological sign-"

She holds her hands up. "Oh no! Don't be sorry! I apologize for bothering the two of you, you may continue!" She says flustered, throwing a wink at me.

Draco rolls his eyes at her before burying his head in his own work. Daphne lightly taps my shoulder and I turn around to face her.

"Look! My horoscope says that something will go my way!" She says excitedly, oblivious of the comments that Professor Trelawney just made to Draco and I.

"Wow..." I say, trying to sound as non sarcastic as possible. Daphne doesn't realize my lack of interest.

"What is yours?" She asks.

I look down at my book. "Uh-" I stammer, hastily trying to find the reading for Gemini.

Nothing lasts forever. Focus on the future or you will find yourself lost if you dwell on the past.

"Sounds like a load of rubbish to me," Blaise says, taking the vacant seat next to me and sitting down.

Daphne scowls at Blaise. "And what was your horoscope, Zabini?" She asks incredulously.

Blaise clears his throat dramatically. "You will not find love. Love will find you," He announces loudly, obtaining the attention of all the Slytherins and Ravenclaws. Embarrassed at the attention, Daphne turns red. I playfully hit his elbow and shush him.

The class ends shortly after, with Professor Trelawney giving Draco and I a weary look. I roll my eyes once she turns around and exit the North Tower. Daphne abandons me to chat with Blaise and Draco heads off somewhere with his minions, so I decide to join Harry and Ron. Hermione wasn't in Divination, so I assume she'll be joining them soon.

"Miserable old bat," Ron says to Harry as I join them in stride. Professor Trelawney took ten points from Gryffindor because him and Harry were laughing during today's lesson.

"Hello," I say to the two of them cheerily.

The two of them greet me enthusiastically, but Ron has a scowl etched upon his face. "This homework will take me all weekend to do-" He starts.

"Lots of homework?" Hermione asks, joining the three of us. "Professor Vector didn't give us any at all!" She brags. Ron grumps moodily but doesn't retaliate.  The four of us reach the entrance hall for dinner and join the end of the line when a voice too familiar rings out to us.

"Weasley! Hey, Weasley!"

Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle are standing behind us, looking thoroughly pleased about something. I take a small step in front of Ron, knowing that Draco has the tendency to tease him quite a lot.

"What?" Ron asks shortly.

"Your dad's in the paper, Weasley!" Draco says, pulling a copy of the Daily Prophet from his robes. "Listen to this!" He speaks loudly, so that everyone around us can hear.

"FURTHER MISTAKES AT THE
MINISTRY OF MAGIC

It seems as though the Ministry of Magic's troubles are not yet to an end, writes Rita Skeeter, Special Correspondent. Recently under fire for its poor crowd control at the Quidditch World Cup, and still unable to account for the disappearance of one of its witches, the Ministry was plunged into fresh embarrassment yesterday by the antics of Arnold Weasley, of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office."

Draco looks up, staring straight at Ron. "Imagine them not even getting his name right, Weasley. It's almost as though he's a complete nonentity, isn't it?" he crows.

Everyone in the entrance hall was listening now. Draco straightened the paper with a flourish and read on:

"Arnold Weasley, who was charged with possession of a flying car two years ago, was yesterday involved in a tussle with several Muggle law-keepers ("policemen") over a number of highly aggressive dustbins. Mr. Weasley appears to have rushed to the aid of "Mad-Eye" Moody, the aged ex-Auror who retired from the Ministry when no longer able to tell the difference between a handshake and at- tempted murder. Unsurprisingly, Mr. Weasley found, upon arrival at Mr. Moody's heavily guarded house, that Mr. Moody had once again raised a false alarm. Mr. Weasley was forced to modify several memories before he could escape from the policemen, but refused to answer Daily Prophet questions about why he had involved the Ministry in such an undignified and potentially embarrassing scene."

The Slytherins chortle with laughter, while the rest of the students remain expressionless. I burn in embarrassment that my house is always the one causing trouble. Draco flips the paper and holds it up to Ron.

"And there's a picture, Weasley! A picture of your parents outside their house— if you can call it a house! Your mother could do with losing a bit of weight, couldn't she?"

Ron was shaking with anger at this point. He looked as if he could punch Draco on the spot. I take another step forward, so that I'm face to face with Draco. Well, almost face to face- he towers over me and has to look down to see my face.

"You're nothing but a pathetic bully!" I angrily shout to him and his two goons. "Get lost before I jinx all of you!"

Harry takes a step forward so that he's next to me. He puts a gentle hand on my shoulder before turning to Draco. "Get stuffed, Malfoy," He says. "C'mon Ron..."

Draco cackles. "Oh yeah, you were staying with them this Summer, weren't you Potter?" He sneers. "So tell me, is his mother really that porky or is it just the picture?" His eyes trail to Harry's hand, which still rests on my shoulder.

"You know your mother Malfoy?" Harry asks. Hermione and I quickly grab Ron's robes to stop him from launching himself at the blonde boy.  "That expression she's got, like she's got dung under her nose? Has she always looked like that, or was it just because you were with her?"

Draco's face turns slightly pink. I can't help but gasp at Harry's statement- Narcissa has always been so kind towards me, she didn't deserve that slander. But Draco had it coming for him so I keep my mouth shut.

"I'd ask you how your mother's doing, but we both know the answer to that," Draco retorts. "And don't you ever dare insult my mother again, Potter."

"Keep your big mouth shut then," Harry states before turning away, leaving Ron, Hermione, and I dumbfounded.

BANG!
