"I'm back~!" Mina's mom shouted as she put her groceries down on the table.
"Okaa-san, welcome back" Mina said as she walked in the kitchen.
"I bought some fruits for you to snack on. Like banana, melon and strawberries" Mina's mom smiled widely at the fruits she bought.
"Strawberries..." Mina thought, reminding her again of that person.
"I also bought another tray of eggs since we ran out of them. And also, ketchup!" Mina's mom excitedly held the big bottle of ketchup in her hands while looking at Mina.
Mina loooooves ketchup.
Mina smiled at her cute mom and took a sit. She glanced at her mom who's singing a melody while putting her groceries to where they should be.
She feels nervous. She doesn't know why. Her hands are fidgety. Her anxiety is rising and she's started to tremble but she shook her head.
"Calm down Mina... You're just going to ask about... Love... So calm down"
Mina gulped before opening her mouth to speak.
"Okaa-san?"
"Hm?" her mom hummed while putting scallions on a container.
"I want to ask you about something" Mina said and her mom put the container inside the fridge before sitting in front of Mina.
"Yes honey? Is something wrong?" her mom asked worriedly.
"Ah no... I just want to ask how you and Otou-san fell inlove" Mina said a bit awkwardly.
Her mom smiled widely. Her children never really ask her about their love story but she'll tell them anyway.
"Well~ I'm a working student at that time and I worked in a book shop/library. Your Otou-san always go there to study. What I didn't know is that, that's not the only reason"
Mina can feel herself cringing inside but she needs to listen.
"One time, I was in charge behind the counter. I stamp books if they were being borrowed or I punch them if they were being bought. Then your Otou-san gave me a book. I asked him if he'll borrow or buy but he didn't answer me instead gestured me to open the book. He highlighted words each page and it was a letter for me" her mom giggled.
"All in all, the message was about how elegant I was. How pretty and so calm I am. My voice sounds sweet in his ears. Then he asked if I can be his girlfriend" she giggled again, remembering the old days.
"But surely, you didn't answer him right away. Right?" Mina asked and her mom nodded.
"How could I say yes if I don't really know him? So he courted me. I don't feel love or like towards your Otou-san but as time goes by, I see his efforts and that's enough to make my heart flutter" her mom smiled and Mina nodded.
"He'd take me to dates. Brings me food and drinks. Treated my friends rightly. Everytime he saw me, he'd compliments me right away. Despite his busy and tiring course, he always made time for me that sometimes I kind of felt bad" her mom chuckled and she smiled.
"Chaeyoung's like that too..." Mina smiled sweetly at the thought.
"So I answered yes. He was really, really happy. He hugged me tightly and swing me left and right. Funny, he asked me for permission for him to kiss me"
The both of them chuckled and smiled afterwards.
"But why'd you ask honey? Someone's been occupying your mind lately?" her mom asked and Mina gasped a little.
"H-how do you know? You know how to read minds?" Mina asked horrified.
Her mom laughed and shook her head.
"Of course not. But I figured since you don't ever ask me or your Otou-san about our story"
"Yet you tell us anyways" they laughed again.
"But uhm... I don't know if I only admire this person's personality or the person itself" Mina confessed and her mom smiled warmly.
"Well, why don't you tell me about him" her mom said and Mina gulped since it's a she but she did it anyways.
"The person is like Otou-san. H-he's uhm very caring. Treats me well. He uhm puts me and others first before himself. He's always happy. He has a cute dimple and smile" Mina smiled unconsciously making her mom giggle.
"He's a bit short but perfect for a hug. He always smell nice. He's very funny, I think but my members find it corny" Mina giggled.
"He's a great rapper-"
"Oh he's an idol?" her mom asked.
"An artist Okaa-san. She also paints"
"She?"
"I mean he! Haha my vocabulary is haha" Mina said and laughed tense.
"Alright, go on" her mom nodded suspiciously but shook it off.
"Although sh-he is very well-known, he's very down to earth. He's very kind and gorgeous"
"Georgeous?"
"H-huh? Yeah uhm he's a gorgeous man! Very gorgeous" Mina said and smiled nervously.
"Hm. But the way you talk about him, you sound like me" her mom smiled.
"Like you?" Mina asked and her mom nodded.
"Like inlove but I guess no too inlove. Maybe like"
"I-inlove? L-like? But I can't!" Mina started to shake.
Her mom got worried and hugged her. She caressed her daughter's hair and slowly pats her daughter's back.
Mina calmed down a few minutes after and her mom let go.
"What's wrong honey? Is there a reason why you can't love or like him?" her mom asked.
Mina's throat felt dry. Like her voice got taken away from her. She swallowed her saliva and opened her mouth.
"Uhm... I'm an idol, he's uhm considered a legend. And also, he's a great friend of mine... What would happen if I said I like him?" Mina asked.
"Me confessing to Chaeyoung?... No way. I can't! She'll feel disgusted... Wait... Am I accepting that I like her?!" Mina panicked at the thought.
"Honey? Honey calm down. Breathe for me" her mom said and Mina calms herself down.
"There's no wrong confessing your love to your friend. And maybe he likes you back" her mom teased.
"B-but our friendship will be ruined!" Mina exclaimed frantic.
"What the fuck am I saying?! Am I seriously considering to confess to Chaeyoung?!"
"I think your friend is mature enough to know what to do. And if he doesn't like you then it's his loss. I have a beautiful and kind and elegant and the perfect daughter and just to be rejected? No~, you better find another man" her mom said and giggled.
Mina giggled but she's worried. She now knows that she likes Chaeyoung but she knows as well that she can't.
"Uhm one more thing..." Mina said and her mom gave her a look to go on.
"W-what do you thing about... Uhm... Girls getting together?" Mina asked. Now she regrets asking that. She just wants to crawl into a hole and just die there rather than hearing her mom's answer.
"Why honey?" her mom asked.
"Uh uhm... Uh... M-my fellow member! Yeah uhm you know Sana right? Yeah! She's uhm gay...." Mina reasoned.
"Sorry Sana!"
"Oh... So she likes girls?" her mom asked and she nodded.
"I'm not in the place to judge her preference. And I can't tell her to be straight" her mom chuckled and Mina did awkwardly.
"So I would just let her be. Kudos to her and her girlfriend. Who's her girlfriend by the way?" her mom asked and Mina panicked again.
"Uhm... Uh... T-tzuyu! Yeah! Haha they're together haha" Mina said.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry Tzuyu!"
"Oh! Your other member right? Well your friend Sana has a beautiful girlfriend. Visual couple" her mom giggled and so did she but nervously and awkwardly.
"S-so you don't have any problem with girls liking girls?" Mina asked stuttering.
"Of course not and you should be too. We don't discriminate and we don't hate. Remember that my daughter okay?" her mom said and pinched her cheeks.
"Now, I'll prepare some snacks for you and your Otou-san. You can watch TV in the living room" her mom said and smiled.
"Hai Okaa-san~" Mina said and smiled back.
She unknowingly skipped her way to the living room and her mom giggle while watching.
"I somehow felt relieved~" Mina said to herself and turned the TV on to watch.
