Bolt's POV: (P.S. This takes place right where Chapter 2 left off. But Chapter 3 was the next day. It will come together don't worry!)
As I get off Mars' bike, I take off my helmet and Mars asks me, "So, how was training." "Good." I tell him. I decide to not tell anyone about Master Oka telling me to 'be ready for anything' thing since I didn't know what it meant so probably no one else will. Mars and I walk inside and I see my mom in her cooking apron making spaghetti. My dad is at the kitchen table reading his newspaper. Yup, just a normal family. "How's your day Phoebe?" My dad says flipping a page of his newspaper. "Good." I say setting my bag down. "Do you have any homework?" My mom asks. "No." I say running to my room. I wanted to talk to Crystal. I haven't talked to her in a while. I grab my T-phone and lay on my bed. I type in Crystal's number and wait for Crystal to pick up. "Hello?" A voice asks. "Hey Crystal!" I say. "Hey Bolt! How you been?" Crystal says to me. "Good! How have you and Donnie been doing?" I ask. "Great! The other day, Donnie and I spent the whole night working on a new invention! It turned out to be a bust but I was still happy to watch him work so hard." Crystal tells me. "Glad to hear it. I miss seeing everyone face to face." I say. "We miss you too. I'm sorry but I gotta go. I promised April I would study with her for a history test tomorrow." Crystal says to me. "Oh, uh, well that's okay. Bye." I say. "Bye!" Crystal says hanging up. I sigh. Ever since I came back home I barely get to talk to my friends. It stinks. I don't have any friends here because they all think I'm weird and a freak for going away for a year and wearing a mask everywhere I go. "Phoebe! Time for dinner!" My mom hollers at me. I sigh again and head downstairs. After dinner, I decide to go to bed. I put on my polka-dotted pajama pants and a white tank-top. I take off my mask and put it on my nightstand. I crawl into bed and look at the stars as they start to come out of the night. I see the pizza constellation that Mikey created. I would give anything to see my friends again! "I wish I could go back to New York City. I'll do anything." I whisper as I drift off to sleep.
I wake up from a knocking on my door. "Phoebe! Wake up! You're going to be late!" Mars says. I look at my clock and see that I have one hour before school starts. "Mars! I have one hour!" I yell at him. "Yeah, but don't you wake up a hour and a half before school?" Mars asks behind the door. "Whatever." I say getting up. I forgot to set my alarm last night. I grab my clothes: A blue T-shirt, a leather jacket, and jeans. I take my shower, brush my hair, and put on my mask. I walk into the kitchen. My mom hands me a plate of bacon and eggs. I sit down and eat. Mars walks in. "Are you driving me to school today?" I ask. "Yeah, but I can't pick you up." He tells me. I finish eating, and grab my bag and Mars drops me off at school. I go to my locker and open it. I see Helen at the corner of my eye. "What do you want Helen?" I say. "Nothing, I just wanted to do this." Helen says. "Do what?" I ask looking at her. I see Tyler and he pushes me. I step back and look at him. I cross my arms. "Do you think that was a good idea? That counts as attacking." I tell Tyler. Tyler gulps and takes a step back and puts his head down. "Wimp!" Helen tells Tyler and walks off. Tyler follows. Luckily, school ended quickly, and I was excited for my lesson with Master Oka today. Maybe he'll finally tell me what he meant yesterday. I begin to walk out the door, but then I see Tyler. "Hey, I'm sorry about Helen and I." He tells me. I was a little shocked. I never imagined Tyler would apologize to me. "You are?" I ask. Tyler nods. "Hey, if you got a minute, I have something to show you. Turn around." Tyler tells me. I stupidly listened to him and turned around to see Helen, opening the janitor's door. Tyler pushes me inside with his foot, and I fall inside. Helen slams the door and locks it. "See you tomorrow freak!" Helen says. "GET BACK HERE COWARDS!" I yell at them. I pound on the door but no one lets me out. No one is left in the school. I pound on the door for another couple of minutes but nothing. I'm going to be stuck here a while aren't I?
I have been sitting in the janitor's closet for over an hour now! No one has come by! Master Oka must be so mad at me! I was so stupid to listen to Tyler! Wait a minute.......do I hear......footsteps? I put my ear against the door. YES! FOOTSTEPS! I can be free! "HELP I"M STUCK IN HERE!" I yell. "What the? Phoebe is that you?" I here a familiar voice say. I hear the door unlock and see one of the janitors named Joey. He knows me because I got detention once for punching Helen and with my punishment I had to help clean the school with Joey for a week. I didn't mind, Joey was really nice to me. "Joey! Thank goodness!" I say jumping out of the closet. "How long have you been in there? How did you get in there?" Joey asks. "An hour, and Helen and Tyler." I say. "Good greif, those two again? No wonder I saw Helen with my keys. Of course I got them back from her but I was wondering what she was doing with them." Joey says. "I need to go but thanks for letting me out!" I say running out the door. I run as fast as I can to the dojo and it usually takes me ten minutes even if I'm running. When I get there, I'm tired. I look at the dojo door and see a note:
Phoebe, Sorry, but there will be no class today. Practice your stances
today though. I'll check back in with you tomorrow.
Master Oka
I panted as I read the note from running so long. "Well, at least I wasn't late." I tell myself. By this time, it was starting to get dark. After I catch my breath, I begin to walk home. Home is about 30 minutes away walking from school, and about 40 from the dojo.
As I begin to walk home, my phone begins to ring. "Hello?" I ask answering. "What's up dawg!" I hear Mikey say. "Nothing much, just having the worst day ever." I tell him. "I'm sorry dude." Mikey says. "It's fine. So no patrol tonight?" I ask since Mikey called me when it was turning dark. "Yeah, Don has a date with Crystal tonight so Leo decided no patrol tonight." Mikey tells me. "AWW! Those two are so cute together!" I say. "Not as cute as you!" Mikey says to me. My face turns red. "Aw! You always know how to cheer me up!" I tell him blushing. "It's what I do." Mikey says. I hear a noise in a ally. I look around and I don't see anyone or anything. I peak into the ally but I don't see anything. "You still there?" Mikey asks me. "Yeah, I just AH!" I scream dropping my phone. I saw something run right past me! I look around but I see nothing. I slowly pick up my T-phone and see that the call ended probably because I dropped it. I had a bad feeling...... I put my phone into my bag. I act like nothing happened. I unzip my front pocket where I hide a shuriken for protection. Master Oka gave it to me. I hide the shuriken in my hand. I put my bag back on and listen for a sound. I hear something run past me, and I throw a shuriken at it. I look to see a ninja robot with my shuriken through it's head. "What the.....?" I say shocked. I grab my shuriken and examine the ninja robot. It had a bug eyed- looking mask and it was wearing a red headband with a foot symbol on it. Plus, sparks were coming out of it. "What is this thing?" I ask myself. I turn around to see about five more of the robot ninjas in front of me. "Oh, no." I say, beginning to run. The robot ninjas begin to follow. They are a lot faster then they look. One tackles me. and it's hand turns into a spinning blade. I slice it with my shuriken and the robot falls on top of me. I throw it off and two more attack me. I jump dodging there attacks. Weapons come out of there, hands and back too. I can't fight them bare handed, or with one shuriken! Then, I remembered there was a dumpster close by. Maybe I'll be able to use something out of there! I run to the dumpster as the four remaining robot ninjas follow me, trying to slice me in half. As I reach the dumpster, I flip open the lid and quickly reach inside. One of the robot ninjas swung it's blade at me and I threw at it what I grabbed. It was a old boot..... The robot looked at me like it was wondering if that was a joke or not. I peak inside the dumpster and see a chair leg with a pointed tip where the chair got snapped off. As one of the Ninja robots were about to attack I stabbed it with the leg. It's spinning blade coming a centimeter from cutting my nose off. The last three attack me all at once. I blocked and dodged all of there moves, some doing only scratches. I quickly bend down, and grab one of the ninja robot's legs and swing it against the other ninja robots making them crah into the wall. One was destroyed because it got caught by the other ninja robot's spinning blade. The other was trying to get up, and the one I swung around I smashed it into the opposite wall. As the last remaining one finally stood up, I threw my shuriken at it's chest. It went right through and it fell. It's fingers twitched and it made me feels uneasy. I kicked it a couple of times and it stopped. I threw the chair leg back into the dumpster. "Holy.....COW! .......What....the HECK!" I said shocked what I was just fighting. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and began to punch, but when I saw it was only Master Oka I let my arm fall to my side.
"Master Oka, what the heck is this?!" I ask. "It was your test." He says. "My test? Why did I need to fight five ninja robot things to meet your Master?" I ask. "He needs to know if you are strong enough to be reasonable for taking up his time." Master Oka says. Well, that's a bit rude....... "So, now can I meet him?" I ask. "It's Chris Bradford's choice of letting you go. Not mine." He says. "Well, where is he?" I ask. "Behind you." I hear a raspy voice say. I turn around to see a giant, bony, mutant dog! THAT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!!!! "Awesome!" I say. The mutant dog glares at me. I cough. "I mean, it is an honor to meet you Chris Bradford." I say bowing. "I was actually impressed to see you fight them off on your own. I think Master Shredder will be pleased." Chris Bradford said. I hide a smile even though I don't know who Master Shredder is. "I thought he would be." Master Oka say. "How would you like to go to New York City kid?" Bradford asks me. I smile a huge smile. "Yes! I would love that!" I say jumping up and down. "Sorry, she can get excited at times." Master Oka says holding one of my shoulders making me stop. "Don't tell anyone about this. Absolutely no one unless you have a death wish." Bradford says. I gulp. "I'll tell Shredder. Have her be ready by two days." Bradford says and then leaves. "I'm very proud of you!" Master Oka tells me smiling. "Thank you! But, why do I need to see Master Shredder?" I ask. "He is looking for a strong and bright pupil to train. He wants to train that pupil his ways of fighting and to go on missions for him." Master Oka tells me. I smile excitedly in response. "I'll convince your parents to let you go by telling them it is a ninjistu school that will train you to become a full kunoichi but it is a normal private school with it. And the school thought you were so perfect for the school, you have no charge." Master Oka told me. I frown. "Master Oka. I can't lie." I tell him. "Do you want to go?" He asks. I nod. "Just think of it as a little white lie. Don't you trust me?" He tells me. "Okay..... I trust you." I say to him. "Come on, I will walk you home and tell your parents everything." Master Oka tells me. We begin to walk to my home. This is alright to do......right? Technically I'm not lying to my parents, Master Oka is. Come on, Master Shredder is Master Oka's master! How bad can he be?
