ZENIA'S POV
(TW- MENTIONS OF ABUSE)
THE AMOUNT OF LIES MY MOTHER FED ME AND I BELIEVED IS LAUGHABLE. She's not sober and within a week of me being here she got a new boyfriend instantly chucking me to the side. They would get drunk out there minds together and when mums new boyfriend was drunk, he got angry and what does Avery do? nothing.
History repeats itself.
Avery took my phone within a couple days of moving in with the excuse that she needed it more then i did and that she'd by me another later. It had been two weeks. I have to get out this place.
Bruises and cuts pepper my body but by now i've learnt how to take care of them. I've been saving up money making sure to keep it well hidden from Avery because if she gets a hold of it it will be gone on alcohol within minutes. I have just enough money for a few bus tickets to get back to the dumping ground in order to escape this horrible demise. I knew i had to stay strong for Mike and Liam.
This morning i had packed a bag with majority of my belongings in just in case it gets bad again an i have to leave in a hurry.
It's currently 9pm and Avery and her new boyfriend were just back to go out for more drinks. I was in the kitchen just drinking a cup of water when Jack (mums new boyfriend) came up to me and yanked me by my hair.
"You better behave yourself"
I couldn't help but yelp at the forcefulness of his tug "Get your hands off me!" I shout as i swing at him hitting him in the side of his head.
"Don't be so ungrateful you bitch!" He snaps gritting his teeth as he draws his fist back connecting it straight with my face. The force causing me to fall back into the tiled kitchen floor. I look up cradling my soon to be black eye and look into my mothers eyes with show no sign of remorse or regret. I feel blood trickle from a gash just oh my cheekbone caused by Jacks ring.
He door slams as they leave. I quickly rush to my room and grab my bag, waiting a few minutes just be be sure they're gone. Throwing up my hood i walked out the door and went immediately to the bus station which was near by hoping on a bus, trying to ignore the weird looks i got from others.
Half an hour later the bus man kicks me off due to the fact i only had enough distance to go half way although he was kind enough to give me a tissue for the gash on my face.
The sky darkened as i walked though the silent streets constantly looking over my shoulder in paranoia. The thing that drive me to keep walking my fatigued body was the thought of seeing Mike and Liam again.
This is it, my thoughts roam as i stand outside the dumping ground door at 11pm hesitation overwhelms my body as i raise my hand to knock.
I wait a few minutes for the door to open but it doesn't, i sigh and decide walking to the back door. There's a spare key hidden, not very well might i add, under the mat so i bend down and collect it pulling open the door.
The silence dances through the house as i slowly wander through the kitchen, down the corridor and upstairs. A smile appears on my face as i look around at my familiar surroundings. My first thought was to go to Liams room but i decide it's probably best i go to Mike who i know sleeps here on Thursday.
I gently push open Mikes bedroom door and smile when i see him sleeping. I missed him. I missed my dad. I quietly walk over the side of the bed.
"Mike?" I whisper whilst shaking him lightly. He stirs a bit but doesn't wake up so i try again. "Mike?" This time a bit louder and shaking him a bit harder. He opens his eyes letting them adjust to the darkness.
"Zen?"
"Please don't make me go back" I start to cry.
He quickly gets out of bed and turns on the light to get a glimpse of my state.
He gasps at what he seems and runs over to me. He so shocked, he can't form any words.
"Let's just say that history repeated itself" I comment as a state to look at his tear filled eyes. He wraps me in a gentle hug which i immediately turn into.
"I should never had let you go back" He cry's into my hair.
"It's not your fault Mike, please don't blame yourself"
He pulls out of the hug and brings his fingers towards my head lightly grazing them over the cut and a sob escapes him.
"It's not as bad as it looks" I lie to try and reassure him. To which he tilts his read and raises his eyebrows. I fill him in on exactly what's gone on and he lets a few more tears slip through his eyes and tells me that he's going to sort it out.
"Look, would you like to clean up first or just go to bed? You're rooms the exact same." Mike asks.
"Can i just go to sleep please?"
"Of course you can" he replies hugging me again and kissing the top of my head.
LIAM'S POV
Frank and I race down for breakfast nudging others out the way as we run past despite their complaints. When we reach the kitchen i grab the cereal and pour myself a bowl. By now everyone had reached the kitchen. As i sit down i notice the expressions of Mike and Gina. Mikes eyes were red and blood shot whilst Gina wore a grim expression. "What's up with you two?" I ask nervously as i've never seen them in this state before and it was quite worrying.
Everyone looks at them with my comment and stop what they're doing. Mike and Gina exchange nervous glances. "Right" Mike starts "Please can all of you stay away form Zenia's room for today"
"Why?" Sapphire asks as Gus brings out his note book.
Gina continues for Mike "She needs rest"
I shoot out of my seat "Zen's back! Why? Wasn't she living with Avery for two more weeks?"
"Trust me she's never going back there" Mike grumbles with anger.
"What do you mean? Can i go see her? She ignored all my texts" Saff states. "Mine too" i agree.
"We're not going to say anything else but just give her time yeah?" Gina says "If she wants you to know then she'll tell you".
I sit back down and glance at Saff who held the same face of confusion as i did. What's happened Zen?
ZENIA'S POV
I end up waking up at 6pm and decide i should probably have a shower. The water cascades down my bruised aching body washing away dried blood from my face and body. I stare at my reflection wondering how i could let something like this even happen to me.
With a shake of my head i get changed and walk down the desolate hallways because i know everyone's already down there eating dinner.
I can hear laughter coming from the kitchen and a smile spreads along my face. I walk into the kitchen and everyone falls silent as i look up.
"Um hello?" I say squirming under everyone's gaze. Liam is the first one to stand up and walk over to me and embrace me into a hug. I can see him gaze at the scarred over cut on my forehead and his jaw clenches but he decides not to mention it.
"I've missed you so much Zen" He whispers into my hair.
"I've missed you more Dono"
Everyone else starts to stand up a crowd around me and Liam eventually they all joking in the hug. This is what home feels like.
