(September 26th 2010)
It's been a week since homecoming and Cass is with Jeremy and Tyler in the woods, Jeremy has crossbow and Cass has her bow and arrows.
Jeremy shoots a can with a crossbow and Cass lines up an arrow for her shot at a can.
"Nice shot!"Tyler calls out.
"So what's the point of this again?"Jeremy asks.
"The point is I'm pissed at Caroline, Bonnie dumped your ass and Cass has nothing to do. The point is to get drunk and shoot stuff"Tyler tells him.
"Profound. Alaric finds out I took this he is gonna use it on me"Jeremy tells them.
Cass rolls her eyes.
"No he won't Jer"Cass tells the younger Gilbert.
Cass shoot at her can and the arrow goes straight through the can.
Jeremy then reloads his crossbow.
"So what's the deal with that? He is like your guardian now?"Tyler asks.
"It's not really any of our business Ty"Cass tells her best friend.
"It's fine Cass, yeah he sort of. I think he feels responsible for us"Jeremy tells them.
"Do you like him?"Tyler asks prying more.
"Yeah. Yeah-I like him"Jeremy starts.
Jeremy aims his crossbow and Tyler is in way.
"You wanna move out of the way?!"Jeremy asks.
"I'm a hybrid, Gilbert. You can't kill me unless you cut off my head or rip out my heart. And you're not gonna do it with that lame ass crossbow and neither can Cass with her bow. Go ahead!! Take a shot! Unless you don't think you can hit me"Tyler tells the two.
Jeremy and Cass look at each other and smile they both aim their weapons and fire and Tyler catches both their arrows and smirks.
The trio decided to go to the Gilbert household Jeremy and Cass go inside, Jeremy heads to the fridge and Cass stands in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Just in time! We're cooking"Elena says happily.
"Sorry, we are just passing through"Jeremy says.
Cass waves awkwardly from the doorway and Elena smiles at her.
"Ah, well I thought we would all stay in, have a meal together like a typical, atypical family"Alaric says to Jeremy.
"Why?"Jeremy asks confused.
"Maybe because you got fired and you didn't tell anyone"Elena says and Cass feels the air in the room change.
"Ahh- look, can we do this later? me and Cass made plans with Tyler. He's right outside"Jeremy says.
"Oh wait! I understand hanging out with Cass but when did you start hanging out with Tyler Lockwood?"Alaric asks concerned.
"I don't know...Does it matter?"Jeremy asks.
"Yeah, Jeremy! It matters. He was sired by Klaus. He's dangerous"Elena says.
"He can still hear you. He is right outside. Besides you of all people are gonna lecture me on who I can and can't hang out with?"Jeremy says.
"What is with the attitude?"Elena asks."Yeah, whatever, this is lame. Come on Cass, Tyler is waiting"Jeremy says.
The two begin to leave but Elena stops them.
"Oh, no no! You're not going anywhere, especially not with Tyler"Elena says.
Cass looks at her.
"It's okay Elena I've got him"Cass says trying to defuse the tension.
"Can you seriously not see why this is bad Cass?"Elena asks.
"I know and I understand but i'm also trying to keep the peace"Cass tells her.
Jeremy looks to Alaric for help.
"I'm with her on this, Jer. Sorry"Alaric says.
"All right, fine. You want me to stay in? Let's all stay in then"Jeremy starts.
"Yo, Tyler! Come on in!!"Jeremy shouts allowing Tyler to enter the Gilbert household.
"Jeremy!"Elena says angrily.
Cass mentally face palms
Tyler then walks in.
A few minuets later and Jeremy hands Tyler a glass water.
"Thanks"Tyler says sincerely.
"This is weird. Klaus has hybrids stalking me and now you're just sitting in our kitchen"Elena says.
"Wait what? Who?"Cass asks confused.
"Look, maybe I should go"Tyler says.
"Oh, stay. You're not doing anything"Jeremy says.
"Unless you have to, you know, check in with your hybrid master"Elena says passive aggressively.
Tyler laughs at this.
"It's not like that Elena"Tyler says.
"Tell me Tyler...What is the difference between being sired and being compelled?"Alaric asks.
"Yeah, Ty. What is the difference?"Cass asks.
"Compulsion-that's just mind control-like hypnosis. And being sired is...it's like faith. You do something because you believe it's the right thing"Tyler explains.
"So, you believe serving Klaus is the right thing?"Cass asks her best friend.
"I don't serve him. Klaus released me from a curse that was ruining my life. I owe him for that"Tyler explains.
"You owe the guy who murdered your best friends girlfriend, because that makes total sense"Cass says sarcastically.
"That's different Cass"Tyler says and Cass just rolls her eyes.
"What if he asked you to jump off a bridge?"Alaric asks.
"He wouldn't! And even if he did I'd be fine. I'm a hybrid"Tyler replies.
"Okay, so what if he asked you to rip your own heart out?"Elena asks.
"Again, he wouldn't"Tyler tells her.
"But what if he did?"Cass asks curiously.
"I don't know! Then I'd rip out my heart!"Tyler tells them seriously.
Cass is taken aback by Tyler conffesion.
"What the hell Ty?"Cass asks.
"You guys sound like Caroline, getting all freaked out over something you don't understand"Tyler tells them.
"You're right Tyler I don't understand. Klaus has terrorized every single one of us and you're just blindly loyal to him"Elena tells him.
"You're over-thinking it. I can still make my own decisions"Tyler tells them.
Cass notices Jeremy on the phone with somebody.
"What was that about?"Cass asks her little brother figure.
"It's nothing"Jeremy replies.
Cass is unconvinced and feels a cold shiver run down her spine and something is telling her something is wrong.
"I got to go. Umm, thanks for the food offer, but..."Tyler says nervously.
"Next time"Alaric says.
Tyler leaves.
Alaric turn and looks at Elena and Cass.
"That was illuminating"Alaric tells the two.
"So, Tyler Lockwood is a lunatic who has access to our house"Elena says.
Elena the notices the saddened looked on Cass face.
"I'm sorry Cass"Elena says.
"My life just keeps falling apart"Cass says seriously.
"I mean this whole sire bond thing is...wild. I don't even think Tyler is fully aware of what little reason lies behind what he's saying. It's this weird cult logic"Alaric says.
"Well, great, that's a wonderful influence for you Jer"Elena says.
The two turn around and Jeremy is gone and that same cold shiver runs down cass's spine.
"Jeremy?"Elena asks.
Cass then notices Jeremy protection ring on the table.
"Isn't that Jer's protection ring?"Cass asks.
Elena picks up the ring.
"Where did he go?"Elena asks concerned and panic.
The trio head outside and Jeremy is stood in the middle of the road.
"Jeremy? What is he doing??"Cass asks concerned.
Suddenly a car comes whipping around the corner and heads straight in the direction of Jeremy.
"Oh my god! Jeremy!!"Elena shouts.
"Jeremy!"Alaric shouts.
"Jeremy move!"Cass shouts.
Cass and Alaric both run out and Cass spears Jeremy out the way and Alaric protects them both and gets hit by the car.
Elena runs over to the two and the car pulls up next to them.
"There I go again. Bumping into people"The hybrid says.
The hybrid drives away and Cass and Jeremy both get up and run to Alaric to check he is okay.
"He's gonna be alright. Are you all right?"Elena asks Jeremy.
"I don't understand"Jeremy says.
"Who was that on the phone earlier?"Elena asks.
"It was Klaus!"Jeremy tells the two.
"You were compelled, Jeremy! We've gotta get him inside- help me!!"Cass says going into to nurse mode.
Cass helps the two take him inside.
Elena then turns to Cass.
"Go home, stay safe and make sure none of your siblings have been touched"Elena tells her.
The sudden realization of the possibility of her young siblings being put in danger sends a shock through Cass's spine.
Cass takes off like the flash and runs as fast as her human legs would carry her to her home.
"Jasper! Bellamy! Liam!"Cass shouts at the top of her lungs and she runs in the door, the three children come running in from the garden and her dad comes running down the stairs.
"Cass? Cassy? What's wrong? What's happened?"The panic'd look on his daughters face is enough to send Ben Ryder into full papa bear mode.
Ben sends the three kids back outside and sits his oldest child down.
"What happened?"Ben asks.
"Klaus nearly got Jeremy run over put I pushed him out the way and Alaric protected both off us he's recovering but Elena said I should check everyone over here was safe"Cass tells her dad in tears.
"The boys have been in the yard, your step-mom is at work and I've been here with the boys, we are all ok, you hear me"Ben says reassuring his daughter.
"I'm so scared dad"Cass confess.
"I know"Ben says cradling his crying child.
A few hours later and Cass heads out to confront Tyler and sees him sitting on a log.
"I've already had an earful from Jeremy, I don't need one form you Cass"Tyler tells her.
"Well your gonna get it. What the actual hell your master said jump and you said how high, this insist some random stranger Tyler, That was Jeremy!"cass shouts at him.
"I'm sorry Cass but what do you want me to say?"Tyler asks.
"You need to get help Ty"Cass says.
Cass then walks away from Tyler.
Things are only gonna get worse before they get better but is Cass ready for it.
