1) Neil Khanna: He is the new ACP of Mumbai Police. Avni's childhood bestie. His equation with Avni will be revealed further in the story. He was a jolly type of person but after Avni left he turned himself into a more of a emotionless and merciless person. He has extreme anger issues. He gets hyper if someone bad mouths Avni. He does not believe that Avni is dead and is waiting for her. He loves his family a lot. He considers his best friend, Ali and colleague, DD as his brothers. He isn't aware of Avni's past. He often locks himself in the dark room where all the memories of Avni are kept safe.
2)Avni Ayesha: The innocent and broken girl hidden behind the fierce and bold Ananya Verma. After her mother died she was completely left alone. Her brother was snatched from her, Her father blamed her for her mother's death, She was tortured and shot in the chest by her grandmother. She was rescued from these plights by her Neela Maa. She suffers from nyctophobia and hemophobia which is the result of the tortures she went through. She was bound to go away from her besties. Now she is back to take revenge from Dayawanti Mehta for killing her mother. She often dances to vent out her feelings. Avni runs a chain of orphnages and NGOs which take care of orphan children, abandoned ladies and old people.
3) Ali Khan: Avni and Neil's bestie. He considered Avni as his sister. He was heartbroken when people said that Avni was dead but Neil's belief gave hope to him. He is waiting for his baby sister. He owns a cafe named as 'Chamko Cafe'. He is a fun loving and jolly guy. He didn't let his behaviour change after Avni left. He is the same as he was in childhood.. He could not tell Neil about Avni's past because Avni had convinced him for not letting Neil know anything about Dayawanti as she can harm him. He has a liking for Riya.
4) Riya Mehta: She is Avni's cousin. She is not negative here. She wanted to help Avni when she was being tortured but Riya got stopped by her father who would beat her up if she sides with Avni. She hates her family. She fears her dad and dadi alot as she had seen their actions towards Avni. She always felt bad for Avni and many times tried to save her from Dayawanti Mehta and Ketan. She is a fashion designer. She has a nice bond with Avni. She didn't mistreated Avni like they showed in NK. She treats Ali as her best friend and shares everything with him.
5) Aman Mehta: He is Avni's younger brother. He is made to believe that his mother lost her life due to Avni and he hates her to bits. He is easily manipulated by Dayawanti. He never got the love of his mother and his father was never near him. So he is basically like an orphan. The negligence from his father and the absence of his mother pushed him into darkness. He does not possess even a single quality of an good human.
6) Neela Parikh: Avni's foster mother. She is also a victim of Dayawanti Mehta's crimes. She is a very fun-loving person. She jokes a lot. She loves Avni a lot, She gets hyper if something happens to Avni. She often goes into self-blaming. She can do anything for her daughter. She supported Avni in all her decisions. The Khanna's never knew about her. Only Ali was aware that she is Ashish Mehta's second wife.
7) Ashish Mehta: He is the spineless father who could never accept Avni and Ayesha in front of the whole world. He blames Avni for Ayesha's death. He even made her arrested. He has blind trust on his mother. He doesn't know about his mother's acts. He never spent time with Aman after Ayesha's death. He left abroad and the reason given was he was only reminded of Ayesha's death and Avni's so called 'betrayal'.
8) Dayawanti Mehta: The main villain of the story. She was a lone mother. She single handedly raised her 3 children. She has a severe hatred towards the Muslim religion and hence she was in total denial of Ashish and Ayesha's relation. She killed Ayesha. She accepted Aman only because he was a boy. She tried to kill Avni by shooting her at the chest. She is a total psychopath lady. her luxurious life is under danger as she has a lot of loans and is finding ways to bring money.
9) Ayesha Haider: She was Ashish's lover. She is Avni and Aman's mother. She is dead. She was killed by Dayawanti Mehta. She was a lovable woman. She was best friends with Shwetha Khanna. She treated Neil as her own son.
10) Diksha Mehta: Dayawanti's daughter. She killed Neela's father. She also tortured Avni along with her mother and brother, Ketan. She is a divorcee.
11) Ketan Mehta: Riya's father. He tortured Avni with Dayawanti. He is Dayawanti's younger son and Ashish's younger brother. He hates Avni to the core. He beated up his own daughter when she supported Avni.
12) Hetal Mehta: Riya's mother and Ketan's wife. She always pitied Ayesha and Avni. She treated Neela as her elder sister. She tried to save Avni many times but failed in it. She is a good woman.
13) Harleen Khanna- Neil's Bebe. She loves Neil a lot. She treated Ayesha as her own daughter. She loves Avni a lot. She has her differences with Shweta but never ill treated her. Most of the time she would be teasing Shweta.
14)Prakash Khanna- Neil's father. He loves his son a lot. He respects his son's profession and the thought of standing on his own feet instead of using his father's name. He treated Ayesha as his sister. He is one of the richest businessman in Mumbai. Hence he became the target of Dayawanti Mehta. He respects Dayawanti.
15) Shweta Khanna- Ayesha's best friend. She treated Avni as her own daughter. She wasn't aware of all the difficulties Ayesha was going through. Ayesha never mentioned anything to her. She mourns the death of Ayesha till date and misses Avni with all her heart.
16) DD( Dakhal Dayal)- Neil's assistant. He informs every single detail about Neil to Shweta. He treats Neil as an elder brother. He is well aware of his sir ji's anger issues and tries his best that Neil getting angry could be avoided.
