I woke to my mother's vioce as she shook me....Just what I wanted I thought getting up slowly.
"Wake up Clare." She said, almost tying to sound kind.
"What?" I said confused, rubbing my eyes.
"We need to talk about last night..." She said more unsurely.
"What do you have to say about last night, huh?" I said sitting up, my eyes angry. My mind wanting to rip her to pieces.
"I'm sorry. I acted completely out of hand. I'm just worried your hanging with the wong people. And that Elijah boy."
"You mean my boyfriend?"
"Ehh....your dating that boy."
"Yes I am mother. And hes the best boyfriend you could imagine. Hes pursistant on giving me a birthday present. And he understands my boundaries." I said smiling smuggly, thinking of him.
"I.....I undestand I guess. But also, that Adam....boy?"
"Hes a transgender, and it isn't his fault that he isn't perfect. But what you did last night was ude, and wrong!"
"I know, I know Clare. I was just stunned. Diner didn't go as planned but I'm sure things will settle and maybe things will change..."
"What do you mean change?"
"Well honestly Clare I thought Eli was just a joke, I thought he was part of you plan to keep me and your father together. I hadn't realized you were really involved with this boy. I don't think he is what you need."
"No hes more. So don't do this. You did this with Darcy and Peter and look how that ended. She got raped, and still stayed with him. You pushed her closer into him. And ended up messing with your own daughter." I said tears coming to my eyes.
"You know that isn't true Clare."
"Darcy went out that night because of you!" I shouldn't, slumping back down into the bed.
"When your ready to pull yourself together and stop acting like sucha child, then you come out." She said leaving the room, "I'm leaving in an hour."
"Hmmf.." I said crossing my ams, not bothering to respond. She rolled her eyes, closing the door behind her. I quickly got up, picking up phone to see one text from Alli.
Alli:Hey Clare, sorry for the bad birthday dinner. Maybe you wanna' chill at my place tonight my parents are gonna' be out yaay!:)
I smiled at the text, I wasn't planning on sitting around here for long, And I needed to see Eli.
I began rushing around my room, picking up random articles of clothing and shoving them into a bag. I hoped Eli would be there tonight. Or atleast Adam. If not this would be completely piontless, since I really don't wanna' hang out, nor in anyway party.
"Where are you going?" My dad asked as I came out from my room, carrying a bag filled with clothes and what not.
"To Alli's for the night."
"Umm, were you planning on asking?"
"Sure, now can I go?....Please."
"Ughh......fine. Are you planning to come back tomorrow?"
"Yes dad, I'll be back. And I'm guessing mom already left?"
"Sadly yes." He sad looking down at his watch, trying to amuze himself with the ticking of the clock.
"Bye."
"I love you!" He shouted after me as I slammed the door, guilt got to me quickly as I didn't bother saying it back. I walked quicklier down the pavement sidewalks, knowing Alli's house was just around the conner.
"Heeeeey!" Alli said wrapping her arms around me as I stood in the door way. Seeing Drew and KC, and Jenna behind her sitting at the couch. The awkwad feeling I always seemed to get around them began choking me once more.
"Hey Clare!" Jenna said getting to her feet and walking over.
"Hey Jenna...KC, Drew." I said smiling and waving awkwardly. KC waved awkwardly back and Drew just smiled as he always did.
"C'mon in, your early people will start showing up around 6ish."
"Ahaha, cool. Umm is Eli or Adam coming."
"Clare everyone was invited but ummm......Adam isn't gonna be coming out anytime soon."
"Why?!"
"My mom isn't lettinghim." Dew volinteered.
"Becuase of dinner....right.."
"Yeah...sorry." Drew said turning back to what looked like a football game.
"Anyway, I sorta knew you and Eli wouldn't get the chance to talk or hang if you stuck around your place. So I guess in a way this party was for you guys." Alli said over excitedly as she locked arms with me, dragging me through her house, and back into her room.
"Haha, well then thank you Ms. Extremely awesome Alli." I giggled plopping down on her bed.
"So were doing your make up deffinatly. And I'll let you borrow something okay?" She said glancing at my bag, obviously telling that I hadn't really packed for partying.
"Ughh fine." I replyed, slooching comfortably into her bed as she searched for make up through her drawer.
"Stop moving!" Alli yelled as she tried to put eyeliner on me. A worried expression on my face the whole time, I didn't quite trust Alli with eyeliner and my face, haha.
"Okay I am finally done." She said turning me in the mirror
I went speechless. I saw my eyes, the thick eyeliner bringing out my blue eyes, dark blue eyeshadow fierce around the eyeliner. Making me feel fresh, invinsible.
She had forced me into a short dark blue flower print dress, with a bold yellow belt. And yellow heels that could kill with one step. I felt like I were the only person alive, with adrenilin running through my hot veins.
"Like it?"
"Ehh.....Alli your amazing!" I said turning, gripping her shoulders as if I would fall to pieces if I let go.
"I do my best." She said with a cheery grin, already pulling me out the door. We could already hear people pouring in, a smile forming across my face when I became anxious to see if Eli had arived yet. But when I appeared at the short staircase it seemed as all eyes were on me, shocked expressions and dropped mouths staring into my big blue eyes.
"Clare! You look amazing!" Jenna shouted, wrapping her arms around me in a friendly hug, it appeared completely geniune as if begging for a fresh start. Which I could finally give her with the strength of my Elijah.
"Thanks, Jenna." I replied patting her back softly before letting go to see if Eli were here. My eyeswidening happily when I saw Eli arrive behind a bunch of jocks.
He looked at me, eyes widening and jaw dropping, but quickly replaced with a smirk as he closed in on me, wrapping his arms around me and whispering in my ear, "You look beautiful Blue eyes."
"Ehh....Thank you."
"C'mon lets go somewhere more private." I said smiling, taking his hand and pulling him back into Alli's empty room.
"Hah." He laughed, following quickly behind me.
"So Ms. Edwards, what would you like to do?" Eli said with a crooked smile, sitting down on Alli's bed, staring up at me.
"Talk." I said stubbornly. He soon realized what I meant, rolling his big green eyes.
"Its over Clare."
"No it isn't....and you acting different, like theres something you want to say but you can't."
"Well I'm just uneasy with the thought of your mother.....of you being like her someday. I know its a dumb thought and so untrue but its eating away at me Clare." He said looking back up at me, a sickening feeling eaching me as I peared into those green eyes.
"Your kidding me right? You know something Eli, I hadn't expected such from you." I said getting up, opening the door to him.
"What ae you doing?" He asked confused as I opened the door gestering for him to leave.
"Get out." I simply said. His eyes seemed to widen a bit as he stood to his feet. He smirk his usual smirk, only it seemed sader, or maybe forced. He lightly gabbed my hips, pulling me into a light kiss, turning it passionate quickly before letting me go and walking out the door.
I was so confused now....what exactly just happened?
