"Did you guys wipe dirt off your shoes?" I asked the group who came inside. "Our hands are occupied Jules~" Jean said showing me the boxes. "Captain Levi won't care about that" I sighed to myself. "It's almost like we're back in the cadet corps" Sasha said reminiscing the past. "Yeah.. Um, Sasha? What did you just put in your bag?" I gave a deadly smile hovering above her. "N-Nothing b-bread related" she cowered in fear. The others joined the fun surrounding Sasha and then told her to put it back while I giggled to myself in a corner.
"What's the commotion about?" A sudden stern voice from behind us said causing us all to flinch. The members immediately when back to work while i breathed in relief. "What are you sighing about?" Levi whispered close to my ear as he ran his fingers through my back. "Mmm!" I gasped arching my back. "Woah, slow down babygirl. I haven't even done anything" a soft peck was left under my ear. Just as i turned around to give him a piece of my mind, he cut me off. "Hangi needs Eren for experiments. Come soon" he said before walking away. That 4 inch midget!
"Eren, what's wrong? The future of humanity is riding on you" Hangi shouted in frustration. "Hangi, he's not the same. You can see his ass hanging out" Levi commented which was indeed true and i know i shouldn't laugh about it but a chuckle escaped my lips. "That I know.. Eren, give us a signal or something" Hangi said. " ..I don't think he can" I said before going over to him and pulled him out immediately. "He's bleeding!" I shouted. "Whoa! Check it out, Moblit! Hurry sketch his face!" Hangi said in excitement to which i stared at her in shock. "You idiot" Levi smacked her behind the head while I tore Eren from his Titan form. Looks like we'll need more time.
Next Day
"Shouldn't you be resting?" I asked while stirring the soup to the boy who walked into the kitchen . "But I slept a lot Jules. Besides, it's my fault the strategy for retaking wall Maria got delayed" he said standing behind me as he fondled with my hair. "It's not your fault idiot" I turned around and flicked his forehead. "Go call Captain Levi and tell him the food is done. I have to switch places with Mikasa for the lookout now" I let him know and then put out the fire. Around 20 minutes later when I was on guard duty, Hangi-san came to the cottage. I was asked to join them which i did eventually after checking around. Hangi told us a big news and that was Pastor Nick was murdered.
"Don't blame yourself, Hangi-san. There are people who don't want the truth to be found" i consoled her rubbing her back. "Tell me something, how many nails were ripped off?" Levi asked sipping the tea that i served to all. "Huh? Oh as far as I saw, all" she replied. "People that talk, talk after one. That means Pastor Nick didn't turn away from what he believed, all the way till end. In other words, they have no idea that the heir of Reiss family is with us" he said to which we all nodded our head in understanding.
Later, a soldier sent from Erwin came and handed Levi a letter. He read the letter in silence before crumbling it up and throwing it into the furnace. "Everyone out. We leave now. Leave no trace that we were here" he said standing up. "Now? But why?" i asked in confusion. "I'll tell you all in the way. For now just listen to me"
"We're safe now" i let know the anxious team that was behind me. "But to go this far just to protect the wall's secret... And why do they want us to hand over Eren and Historia?" Armin asked. "Who knows, but it's clear that the enemy is after them. We are moving her and Eren to Trost district" Levi said. "But that's the same place Pastor Nick was killed" Hangi said. "It's worse to head towards the interior. With Trost in panic, it should be easy to slip in. Plus not knowing the enemy puts us in a tight spot. We need to find out who's behind this. And also I'll need Jules with me so Hangi you can go to Erwin with your squad" he said just when Hangi was about to drag me with her. "Tch"
Trost District
"Try not to walk in a cluster. We'll stand out" Levi said to us as we all followed him. My heart's beating so loud. I've never been this nervous before! I turned my head around slightly to see behind us. They're here! i signalled Levi instantly. "Watch out! Behind us!" he shouted. A wagon came from the behind and took Eren and Historia away with them. Levi and I exchanged glances before parting. I followed the wagon secretly and confirmed that the kidnappers believed Jean and Armin as Eren and Historia. Poor babies.. I thought as i watched Armin being 'mistaken' for a girl.
"Everything is fine" I said not meeting Levi's eyes as i recalled the scene i saw before. "But we need to hur-" I winced a bit as i felt the pain shot up from my leg. "What's wrong? Is it the leg?" he hurriedly made me sit and gently massaged my leg. "Sorry.. " "What are you apologising for? I should be the one to do it. This happened to you because me" i heard his voice crack a bit. Shit! Hurry change the topic Jules! "Um.. you know I can deal with those people alone. Why are the kids also involved?" I asked softly. "Something doesn't feel right to me. Hence, I'm leaving them under your care" he said looking down. "Hey, anything bothering you?" I asked worriedly caressing his cheek. He took a deep breath before seating beside me.
