Being a guardian Angel is supposed to be the easiest job in the world. You have one job and that is to protect that human from any real danger, physical danger.
You're invisible to others but your form is human. There's only one thing that can kill you, well theoretically there's two.
1. Your human dies of natural causes, like old age.
2. Your human doesn't need you, well, your human cuts off the connection. That only happens to 1 in a million guardians.
'No no no no!, you are not serious..'
Well that really isn't the case for you here, being the guardian of a superhero with a thousand enemies that want to kill said human.
'I have to do this!, people will die...'
'Yeah... you and me...' you argue.
'Don't be so dramatic, besides you'll be by my side the whole mission, won't you?' He teases and you roll your eyes.
'You're lucky I don't wanna die Barnes...'
'Or What?' He asks walking into the jet.
'Or i would kill you myself...' you smirk.
Yup, it's not easy being a guardian to a superhero, but even since you became his guardian, you've felt like you finally found someone worth protecting.
You saw how much he really needed you, and it was nice being needed, it was also nice to be someone to talk to, someone he could rely on, someone he needed.
Until he didn't.
'Buck..'
'You are supposed to protect me!' He roars as he storms off with you closely following behind.
'I don't need you anymore...'
'Bucky don't-'
'I. DONT. NEED. YOU. ANY. MORE...' he swiftly turns around making you bump into him.
'I know you're upset but Bucky you can't just cut me off.... I didn't know you did that and I would've done something if I knew...'
'Would you?, because you told me you came in my life when I was still him. Was that a lie then?!'
'No but... I would remember if you killed his parents in front of me!, and I wouldn't keep it a secret either!, and if I recall correctly I told you not to go and look what happened!'
'Oh so now you're blaming this on me?!, you're the one lying here!'
'Oh am I now?, I have been nothing but brutally honest and patient with you!, you rely on me with everything and I am happy to help but you always fucking turn on me the moment you feel like it!, do you even know what cutting me off will do to me?!'
'I don't care because at least I will have some rest!, finally not have you pulling me back every single minute of the day!'
'You don't mean that...' your voice quiets down as tears fill your eyes.
'Yes I do!' He seethes back at you.
You hiss out when you feel this growing pain in your heart. You've never felt this before but you have a feeling this isn't good.
You groan out as you try to stand up, but your knees give in. You sink to the floor clutching your chest, you can't breath, you're dying.
'Buck-'
'No! I'm done!' He is seeing red out of pure rage at this point.
'Stop.' You try to tell him to stop trying to cut the cord connecting you two. It's quite literally killing you, but he won't listen, too enraged to even see what he's doing.
Until it's too late.
Bright light fills the room, and just like the flip of a switch, you're gone. It isn't until the quiet reaches Bucky, that the rage dies down.
'Y/n...?' He asks, eyes searching around his room to find you, but you're not there anymore.
It slowly dawns him what he just did. You begged him to stop and he didn't. He killed you, cut off all ties. He brought this onto himself.
'No...' he shakes his head as he starts pacing around the room. 'No... no I... I didn't mean it! Please! Come back! I didn't mean it!' He yells up at the ceiling, not sure if anybody will answer.

'I can get you back... this has to work...' Bucky speaks to himself. 'Come on... you can do this.. she will catch you...' He breathes in and out to calm his nerves.
Over the past few months, he has done everything he can to get you back. He went to church, he prayed and prayed, until he found one method that could actually work.
It's extreme, he'll give it that. It's the worst possible way but it's the only thing he has left to do. You've been with him for as long as he could remember, and now that he cut those ties, he feels like he cut the ties of a piece off of himself.
He found some lore about guardian angels. That they are made specifically for one human, to guide them and to prevent them from killing themselves. He chuckles softly when he read that, you always did prevent him from doing harmful things to himself.
He also read that only one in a million guardians died from getting the ties cut by their human, that part made him incredibly guilty. He was that one in a million.
But there is a way to reverse it. If a human is true about making a mistake giving up their guardian, it can be undone. The guardian can return. Everything will be okay again. He has one thing on his mind, and that is getting you back.
He tried everything to this point. From yelling at the sky to meditating, to eventually going a bit more extreme. Like doing things that could potentially hurt him in hopes of seeing you again.
But this? This is insane and could very well be the last thing he ever did. No kidding.
He's at the top of the Stark Tower, the wind rushing past his ears. His heart is pounding. This is so stupid.
'Okay Buck... come on you can do this.. she will catch you...she always does...' he tells himself as he looks down at the buzzing streets of New York. It's Friday night so a lot of people are out there clubbing.
He takes one last look at the lit up city. 'Come on... come on..' he hypes himself up.
He steps over to the edge, here goes nothing. He leaps forward while his teammates bust through the door leading up to the roof.
'Buck stop!' Steve yells just before he sees his friend fall down.
'Oh my god!' Nat clasps a hand over her mouth.
He's falling now. The wind rushing past his ears gets worse the more he does. He sees the ground coming closer and closer. Doubt starts to fill him. Regret maybe?
His hands come up to shield his body, not that it matters because the collision will kill him. Just before he hits the ground however, something pulls him up. Right up to the roof again.
He gets thrown onto the landing pad, it's not kind. But he doesn't care because all he can think of is that it's you, saving him.
'Are you fucking crazy?!' You seethe as your feet touch the space in front of him. 'Honestly Barnes what the hell were you thinking?! You could've died!'
He crawls up quickly and rushes up to you. His arms come around you while your wings fold back. You frown at him.
'You're back...' he breathes happily. 'You're back... I knew this would work...'
'I'm glad you're happy about it... because I'm not, what the hell... don't ever do that again you hear me?!' You scold.
'Yeah... yeah I'll never do it again.. I learned my lesson...' he holds you tighter. 'Then I'm glad to be back... but next time maybe don't give your friends a heart attack like this?'
'I promise...'
You chuckle before wrapping your arms around him as well.
'So Uhm.. Buck.. do you want to explain what happened?' Steve asks.
'I did something stupid... and I lost my guardian Angel, Y/n.. and now I brought her back by diving off of this roof...' he quickly explains.
'I'm gonna need a stiff drink..' Steve sighs. 'And its nice to meet you Y/n..'
'You too...' you chuckle. Bucky still holding onto you.
'I'm so going to kick your ass in training for this Barnes I swear to god...' Nat sighs before following Steve.
'You'll be there to protect me from her right?' Bucky asks.
'Oh no you kind of deserve that...' you reply.
