Our world is complicated, there are things you would never believe.

There are two types of humans in this world: the normal kind, who are plain, simple and well think they are so much better than the Others. Literally the Others that's what they are known as by the regular's. The Others contain things like were's, shapeshifters and other types of misjudged people.

Then there's me.

As my mother always say's: I was born with a disease, some sort of virus.

I can hear people's thoughts, which at one point I had found exciting. That was until my mother told me that the truth about the human government secretly assassinating all known Telepaths. They didn't want anybody to overhear something too important for the rest of the world to know about.

But that isn't it, I have this other thing.

Whoever I touch, my bare skin to theirs, they see things in their minds. Clips of what I have seen through my eyes, things that I'm not able to control. Usually it's how I see them, my attitude towards them but sometimes it's parts of my past, bad things, good things I never know until I read their minds to find out.

There isn't a name that I know of for this thing, well you could say my mother had already given it a name. A virus.

At first my mother didn't know what to do with me but I was her flesh and blood so she felt the need to protect me from the crazed world we live in, so that is why she is the only person who knows about my.... My disabilities.

I used to have a doctor for them but he seemed to disappear off the face of the earth one day when my mother said he was hurting me more than he was helping and then there was also the fact he suggested that a few more doctors should examine me. So to stop people finding out the truth, I figured it was best to cover as much skin as possible. That way they can't touch me and won't get flashes of my past.

My mother is one of the many well-known business women in the world and at one point I used to be her main helping hand until things took to much of a bad turn for me in the mental department. Although to be honest every now and again she does give me the cases she doesn't want to work, like the one's that would have to deal with the Others.

I don't know who my father is or if he's even alive anymore but I stand out around here like a sore thumb. It's true, all regulars are white literally snow white, not even the slightest hint of color to their tones but me I have an olive color. Only the Others have different ranges in skin colors, so it clearly must of come from my father's side.

As most re-productively troubled humans do, they have children created in a laboratory. Which means we are made in the labs with our mother's eggs and father's sperms. Another thing? We are grown in tubes until we are ready to survive the world without assistance. My mother doesn't have a husband or a boyfriend so she was given a donation to help create me.

When we tried searching for him we were told that his DNA was not in the human's database meaning only one thing, he wasn't one of them. Giving us the final clue that he was one of the them.

I have a light olive skin color, bright green eyes with a golden ring around my pupils and my hair is a dirty sandy blonde which reaches the bottom of my spine. The human's around me are paper white with either black, brown or red hair and either blue or brown eyes which is why they all stare. They look at me weirdly like I'm an alien, because I am. I'm different.

Every human child is raised to hate the others, to despise them even though they are a big part of our world, our economy. Even I was raised to hate them, what's worse is I know I'm somehow one of them so how could I ever hate them? It would be real hypocritical of me and truthfully I would be hating a big part of myself.

A knock sounded sounded through my apartment coming from my front door and then a set of keys jingling which meant my mother finally wanted me to do business for her.

"Hello mother"

I call to her standing up from my sitting position on the couch and then striding towards the door she is now stood in. My mother has bright red curly hair, perfect white skin and aqua blue eyes which is why at first nobody believed I was hers, not even her.

"Darling I have a business case for you, I'd do it myself but I'm really busy. I would rearrange it but it is a very important account"

Oh yes hi, I love you too. Just get straight to the point I'm fine thanks. She could re-arrange it but I knew she didn't want to.

"I know you're going to hate it and I know you don't like them but it's with some of them, the others

She said it as if the words where Satan or it was cancer. There's the real reason for not rearranging, the other's. I honestly didn't have a problem with them at all, it was my mother and the rest of the regular humans that did that's why she's giving me the case because no-one else would take it.

"Okay"

"Okay?"

She sounded confused, shocked, why? But quickly she got over it and continued, probably worried I would change my mind

"yeah, Okay it's erm... Mr Lowe I'll send you the address when you leave and the meeting is soon so you better get going"

"That's fine mother, I'll leave now"

I was already dressed anyway, I already knew she was going to ask me. I was meant to stop but I had read her mind yesterday when she was in the meeting downstairs in the breakfast hall, that's how I knew she was going to ask. I even know where I'm heading because I also listened in on the woman who must have been his assistant, although it was strange because she was a regular human, the woman who had been arranging the meeting.

I had my black pants suit on with a white shirt and white gloves too. I had just started to walk through the door when I heard my mother's voice.

"And Annabelle, please be safe"

When you hear her say that you'd think she was concerned about me driving safely but no, she means make sure no-one touches you or you don't touch anyone else.

After getting into my black Mercedes I took off my jacket because it was summer and way too warm for it as well as the long sleeved shirt I had stupidly decided to wear beneath it plus the jacket had been form fitting so was slightly stiff to drive in. Starting the vehicle up I couldn't help but glance at myself in the rear-view mirror, my ponytail neat as always. The gold in my eyes slightly increasing from the reflection of the sun.

It took almost an hour just to get out of the city and it was another twenty minutes into the drive to wherever this company was. All that surrounded me was what seemed to be a forest full of huge pine trees, nothing but the path of this dirt road giving me a clue as to where I was heading.

Another ten minutes down the dirty road was when my engine started to splutter and make ridiculous noises. I didn't like the sounds it was making, they couldn't be healthy. That's when it halted to a stop making my body jerk forward.

"What the hell?"

I screamed getting out of the car and kicking the side causing a tiny dint in the metal. I looked around there was nobody in sight, just trees. What was I supposed to do now? I had left my mobile in my apartment thinking that I wouldn't need it. Who's the idiot now! I guess my only option now would be to get walking... Hopefully then I'd see someone, see a house or at least something useful. So that's that, I started walking down the dirt path leaving my broken down car on the road to save later.

A couple of minutes into the walking idea I heard some rustling noises from the trees to my left and then a low grumble as just seconds later some big brown furred beast was striding towards me. It was just a bit smaller than me in height yet almost triple my width. Slowly more followed the animal out into the open, every single one of them different. One looked like a cheetah with its spots and another was a tiger. There was five altogether but I couldn't see the two at the back only green leering eyes in the shadows.

Hey guys looks like we got an invader. How could I understand its mind, they were animals. Or... Shapeshifters.

"Please don't hurt me"

I plead not knowing whether they hate humans as much as the regulars hate them. She's not shifter or were Damien, but she can't be human I can smell her from here.

I had a shower this morning, I do not smell. I see what you mean, the beast said taking a cautious step towards me and then inhaling loudly. Well guys any of you want to have a little run, might scare her from coming back where she doesn't belong. I swear I heard a snigger when he finished the sentence.

Damien, Jake won't like that, at all. I looked between both animal's, what was happening? Jake's not here is he? Plus she shouldn't even be up here anyway. Without another warning the big brown thing snarled at me his teeth clashing together barely an inch from my face, so yeah it's safe to say i started to run. I ran straight into the forest on my right hoping for some sort of cover yet I could hear their heavy paw prints galloping right behind me.

I couldn't breathe, my lungs are on fire, I don't know how long I'd been running for and I hadn't even saw a single home or a single person in sight. But I couldn't stop because I could still hear them chasing me. I quickly changed direction. Instead of running straight, I turned left so I was running the way the dirt road would of originally taken me.

I couldn't breathe for sure, my legs felt like Jell-O and for a full second my eye sight completely blurred. I made the biggest mistake of trying to shake it away because the motion of shaking my head caused me to trip over some sort of root which was sticking up about a foot from the ground. Glancing down at where I was about to land there was a sharp edged rock, I knew that rock was going to hit my face the second I landed yet there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

I felt the sharp slice as my head pushed against it as I face planted the floor. I could feel the pain of my hands grinding against the dirty stone, stick and leaf filled floor while trying to slow the motion of my body down from the harsh fall. More agony as the same rock sliced it's way from my face all the way down to my hip bone where the pressure finally stopped and gravity had stopped edging me forward. I flipped myself onto my back taking deep breathes trying to ignore the pain running through me, which was not working out at all.

I could feel the tingling of blood dripping down the right side of my face and the cold from where the rock had easily sliced my shirt open and now the air was chilling my warm blood as it rushed from my body. My head drooped to my right, having no more strength to hold it up. Four of the five animals halted to a stop around, the fifth nowhere to be seen.

Oh god! This was not meant to happen. That came from the same brown furred cat that ordered them to chase me, what was they expecting to happen? They just stood there staring while I lay still feeling the damp beneath me as my blood slowly spilled into a puddle on the ground around me.

That's when the missing cheetah suddenly halted to a stop behind the cats but then barging past the lot of them was a huge black panther.

It stopped right next to me looking me up and down then looked to the rest of them, what have you done?  They all put their heads down to the floor and ignored the question. I looked back to the panther but it wasn't there anymore, it was now a human. A male human, a very tall and very muscular handsome male human. He was hot and big. At least if I died I'd be happy with my view.

The first time I actually see a guy naked and I could die, literally.

He had dark just off the shoulder length wavy brown hair and his skin was a little darker than mine but I couldn't see his eyes. I couldn't help but admire his look's hoping to distract myself from the painful truth. He knelt next to me as if he was going to pick me up.

"Don't...Touch...Please"

I got the words out through deep breathes of inhaling the fresh air, he looked confused almost angry. How am I meant to help if I can't touch you?  He told himself in his mind, he sounded disgusted but he still reached out to pick me up. I felt his heated arm hook under my body and around my back as he touched his bare skin to mine. I heard an intake of breathe at the shock of what he must of been viewing, I didn't want to even know what he was seeing but I had to.

So I looked into his mind, just great. He was seeing and hearing my thoughts about him. I would have moved my arm over my face to hide the embarrassment if I could but I had absolutely no strength. I saw the edge of his lip move to a fraction of a smile then he carried on picking me up into his bulging warm arms. My head weakly flopped onto his chest as he picked me up, it felt good to be in his arms, he smelt good and he was so hot against my cold body. Abruptly he started to run, fast. Where was he taking me? What was he going to do? Why should I trust him as much as his pals

"Relax I will never hurt you" he whispered into my ear as if he had read my mind, with them kind words I went under and was unconscious.
