"Lisa!"
The blonde turned away from her opened locker and smiled at the sight of the owner of the voice. She closed her locker with one hand while gripping her backpack strap with the other,
"Hey Miyeon." The smaller one grinned and sent a tiny wave before making her way in front of her.
"You left pretty early the other night. What happened?" She asked but instantly gasped with concern swimming in her eyes, "Was it my cousin? I'm so sorry! She's pretty aggressive I know but she's honestly such a softy but when she drinks a little too much and when it's mixed with attractive girls she becomes a sex maniac--!" Lisa cut her off with a laugh and a shake of the head.
"You're rambling." The blonde pointed out with a playful grin that eased the tension in Miyeon's shoulder. The brunette puffs out air and runs her fingers through her hair, still having the same anxious look in her eyes,
"I'm sorry, I just..." she pauses, gnawing on her bottom lip with an obvious look of worry. Lisa furrowed her eyebrows and took a step closer. She reached over and placed her hand on the girls shoulder. Lisa then bent her head down to be eye leveled with the other girl, trying to catch the wandering eyes,
"What's wrong?" She asked softly. Miyeon slowly met her eyes and sighed again,
"My cousin, I love her but she tends to ruin friendships that barely started by having sex with them and breaking their hearts," she huffed with an eye roll. Lisa chuckled and squeezed her shoulder gently,
"Well you don't have to worry about that. I may have slightly fallen for her charm the other night but I wouldn't have started anything with her and ruin this new friendship," she reassured. Miyeon smiled appreciatively but something flickered in her eyes that had Lisa quite curious and a little nervous. Mainly towards fact that the smile slowly turned into a smirk.
"Is it because you already like a particular girl?" Lisa widened her eyes and removed her hand and took a wide step back. That only heightened the amusement shown in the brunettes features.
"Particular girl?" Lisa asked nervously, jaw clenching and heart palpitating. Miyeon hummed with a tiny shrug.
"Should I explain further?" She locks her hands together behind her back and walked closer to Lisa. Lisa visibly gulped and continued to back away but then squealed the moment her back hit the lockers. "How does this sound for you?" She asked teasingly before leaning closer to the taller girls ear, "Jennie Kim."
Lisa's eyes widened and she swore that her face must be the color of a damn tomato. And, when Miyeon backed away with the same taunting smirk, the color turned even darker in her cheeks. It had the other girl giggling in amusement. Lisa narrowed her eyes and scoffed forcefully with a dry chuckle,
"Pfft..what? T-That's ... You..." She couldn't even get a word out and that definitely answered all Miyeons questions. Miyeon chuckled and looked around the hallway, but that happy smile slowly turned devilish again and Lisa had a very bad feeling about it. Especially when Miyeon faced her once more and stood even closer.
"What're you doing?" Lisa stammered out nervously.
"Checking out a theory of mine so, for just a minute, bare with this okay?" Lisa was indeed confused, but that confusion turned into utter surprise when Miyeon's hands reached over and gently placed Lisa's blonde hair behind her blushing ears.
Her gay panic erupted.
Miyeon glided her fingers down her hair and twirled it with her finger, "Alright, that should do the trick," she taps Lisa's cheek and smiles warmly before backing away and walking down the hall. Not before waving and sending a wink, "See you later Lis."
And, the moment she was out of sight, Lisa exhaled loudly and slumped against the lockers.
Pretty girls will be the death of her.
"What a way to start my morning," She sarcastically whispered to herself. Not noticing a presence beside her.
"My sentiments exactly."
Lisa yelped in surprised, well squealed. The tone sounded harsh, maybe even confused. The blonde looked to her right and grasped onto her chest, panting,
"You scared me Jen," Lisa laughed. But her laughter died down as she gazed into furious feline eyes that had her blood running cold. The doe eye'd harshly swallowed and forced out a nervous smile, "G-Good morning.."
"Just a friend, huh?" Jennie scoffed with an eye roll. Her attitude confused Lisa immensely. What had the younger one done to be graced with such an angry girl in the early morning on a Monday? Jennie Kim, what a confusing girl.
"Pardon?" Lisa asked only to feel a tad annoyed when she earned another eye roll from the smaller one. "Okay, what's wrong now?" Lisa sighed out, suddenly feeling drained.
Jennie was never one to be this annoyed without telling her the reason so, why now? Why has she been so irritated about almost everything? Jennie's eyes sharpened,
"Is there something going on with Miyeon and you?"
Lisa would've laughed. She wanted to laugh. It sounded way too ridiculous! But, Jennie looked dead serious so she knew better than to light the fumes. Tiredly, Lisa sighed and brushed her fingers through her hair in irritation.
"No, there isn't. Why are you being like this?" Jennie shook her head and completely ignored what Lisa asked.
"Why are you lying to me?"Her voice grew louder, it had Lisa ducking her head down in embarrassment from students who were now observing the two. "There's obviously something going on!"
"Can you lower your voice! You're embarrassing yourself and me!" Lisa suddenly hissed, catching Jennie off guard. The older one looked around and softened her tensed posture but that wasn't the only thing that Lisa took notice of. It was when Jennie turned to face her again, and instead of seeing the same annoyance, all she saw was hurt.
"I'm sorry, I don't know why I..," Jennie whispered. The tone of hers sounded so broken, it had Lisa's chest pinching and aching. "I shouldn't have embarrassed you like that. I-I have to go," Jennie weakly said. She went to turn around but Lisa was able to snatch her hand gently,
"Jennie, please, can we talk outside?" Lisa asked softly. Jennie shook her head and tried to rip her harm out of Lisa's grasp but the blonde was having none of it.
"Why are you like this Jennie?" Jennie stopped fighting but refused to look at her. Jennie as confusing as she was, Lisa still loved her, despite all the petty arguments they had over something similar to this. Normally, Lisa would let it go but she's had enough of being confused. Lisa needed to desperately know. It wasn't fair to her anymore.
"It's not fair. Why do you always act so angry with something like this? I understand that I'm your best friend and you want to protect me but, to this extent? Because, every time someone has an ounce of interest in me, you suddenly get not only irritated with them but with me as well! And then you shut me out for a whole day! Tell me please, Why are you always angry about this?"
"Why aren't you!?"
It happened way to quick. Jennie ripped her arm off of Lisa's hold and faced her with tears welling up in her eyes. The look she had took all the air out of Lisa's lungs and twisted her heart so painfully. The girl in front of her didn't look calm or collective like she always did. The girl in front of her looked broken, hurt, and just.. so sad.
"It's like you don't care whenever I talk to anybody!" She shouted leaving Lisa to feel completely flustered and completely bewildered. What the hell was Jennie talking about? The brunette dryly chuckled and looked up, blinking rapidly as if to hold in her tears.
"I keep trying to get something out of you but every damn time.. you just.. you never notice." Jennie whispered the last part brokenly. Her shoulders suddenly slumped and she looked defeated.
"Never notice what?" Lisa asked breathlessly. The pain that Jennie was in was completely new to her. She didn't know what to do or say. She felt helpless. Especially when she saw a single tear sliding down her cheek.
"I really thought that I've been obvious.." Jennie whispered before turning around and running away, bumping into students along the way. Lisa wanted to call for her, run after her even. But the confusion and pain felt like it covered her mouth and weakened her legs. So, all Lisa could do was slowly lean her back against her locker and slide down to the floor. Knees bent in front of her, she leaned her head back and closed her eyes.
What the hell just happened?
"Hey." Lisa didn't have to open her eyes to know who it was.
"I'm assuming you saw it all?" Lisa asked lowly. She heard the two girls seat themselves next to both side of her. An arm draped over her shoulder and she didn't hesitate to lean her head on their own shoulder.
"You both are so dense." Jisoo chuckled out with Chaeyoung humming in agreement and leaning her cheek on top of Lisa's head. Lisa ignored the remark and clenched her eyes tighter, wanting to forget the pained face of the girl she's in love with.
"You do realize all the guys Jennie dates only lasts a couple of days right?"
Lisa sighed and slowy opened her eyes, "So what?"
"And she only talks to them in person when she's in front of you..." Jisoo pointed out only having Lisa to grow even more confused. Of course Lisa noticed, but she only appreciated the fact that Jennie's relationships never lasted more than two weeks.
"And?" Lisa asked but yelped when Jisoo poked her ribs.
"Which means, she likes you too idiot! She's always liked you! She's been trying to make you jealous!"
Wait, what?
