scripting

this is one of the most important parts of shifting.

scripting is basically writing a fan fiction of yourself in your desired reality. your script can be as detailed or generic as you want i recommend more details, but you can do whatever you prefer.

you can make yourself...

a character in a book/show/movie (ex. make yourself be katara from avatar or superman)

the exact same as you are in your cr

a whole new character that you make up

here are some ideas to help you write your script

gather ideas: before you start writing your script, you want to think of general ideas

what's your desired reality like? is it from a book, show, movie, comic, anime, manga, webtoon etc. or did you make the whole thing up?

when and where does your dr take place?

is your dr a fantasy world or based on real life?

who are you going to be?

                  a hogwarts student?

                  a princess/prince?

someone that already exists? (ex. a celebrity, a character from your dr, etc.)

                  an anime character?

         what is your family like?

                  are they rich?

                 do you have any siblings?

                  is your family famous?

where do you and your family live? do you live with your family?

is your family closely bonded? why or why not?

does your family have a tragic history? if so, why?

you can write down rough ideas until you have enough to write a script with.

starting to script: depending on what you want so script, you can use these kinds of scripting for good organization

the timeline - i recommend doing this before moving on to more detailed scripts. you'll pick out important events in your dr self's life. if possible, pick out exact dates and write a bullet point or two describing the event. here's an example:

09.04.1971 - my birthday, born as oldest child out of three children, born in hospital in wellington, new zealand

june 1983 - my family moves to the united states for my mom's job, blah blah, blah blah

september 1986 - blah blah, details

date - details, blah blah blah

making a timeline is a great step towards creating a whole ass script because you can get a rough idea of what you want to script.

character scripting: this is scripting a specific character.

can be a family member, friend, enemy, crush, whoever you want

it isn't necessary, but i highly recommend it

at least script the yourself, closest friends, family members (unless you don't see them much), enemies and crush

scenario scripting: this is a good way to visualize your dr.

you can show a person's true identity by writing about their reactions and actions. your scenarios don't have to be super detailed, i think the more you have the better, but your choice ofc

when you're reading your script, you should be able to see the character's emotions, actions and reactions.

scenarios are a good way to connect your dr self

make sure to stay in your perspective

always always always write in present tense (unless you're writing about something that happened in the past)

examples:

(present tense) he picks up his sandwich from the counter. "where do you want to sit?" he asks me.

(past tense) when i was younger, i watched cartoon network every saturday.

when using scenario scripting, you should only write a short story about a day or two. if you plan on staying any longer than 3 days, i don't recommend this method of scripting

bullet point scripting: this method is definitely the easiest, it's what i use

write down some bullet points about the the things you want do/happen in your dr

this type of scripting is most useful for listing things that are different from your cr

examples: your dr self's talents, hogwarts house, just broad ideas

adding pictures or music/playlist

music sets the mood and can trigger a certain emotions

pictures can give you a visualization of a certain scene/scenario

pictures and music will set the right mood

example: you and your dr best friend go to a coffee shop for a study session. you can insert a picture of that coffee shop you're going to. you can also insert a song or playlist of songs that they would play in a coffee shop or that would incite a certain emotion you'd feel while in the shop.

setting the mood: scripting scenarios with strong emotions is super important

         helps you to visualize easier

try to feel like your dr self, be them. try to script exactly how your dr self would react to certain situations

         pack in the emotions

scripting with fitting emotion helps with:

         visualize

         emotionally connecting to your dr

since you script scenarios in first person, you'll learn more about your dr self (their actions, reactions and emotions towards other people)

tips for scripting:

perfection doesn't exist. don't try to make your dr perfect. if you do, you'll never finish scripting. if everything in life was perfect, it'd be boring.

you can't always be happy. don't get me wrong, you can be happy. but if you want your dr to be as real as possible, you'll let yourself feel every emotion. i know being sad isn't great, but bad things are bound to happen, that's what makes life interesting.

remember that the people in your dr still have feelings, they're real people just like you. so please don't torture these poor people

changing the past will change the future. i know what you must be thinking, uh duhh that's how the universe works. but remember if you change things in the past of a storyline that already exists, it's bound to change the future of the storyline.

words like no, not, never. you can use those words in your script. i saw quite a few comments on a tik tok asking if they could use no/not/never (don't listen to tiktok loves, no offense shifttokers). they were asking because those words usually have negative meaning behind them. so, yes, you can use those words, they won't mess with the positive energy you're trying to create.

"do i have to script out every scenario?" I'm not tryna sound mean or rude, but hell noooo. i actually do not recommend it. if you live around eighty years in your dr, just imagine how long your script would be if you put every single little detail. that'd be a long ass script and it's take forever to write.

wow, that was a lot. if you have any questions, please ask (i have nothing else to do lol).  like i said, scripting is pretty important and i highly recommend it, plus it's fun and gets me excited to shift. happy shifting loves
