"It's hot as blazes" she sighs
Shade from her straw hat gifting little relief
The sun beams down
Rays of heat soaking through her once innocent, now freckled and browned skin
Sun kissed without her grant of permission
The crisp air flows through the cotton field
The blessed breeze catching her attention as it hits her warm cheeks
She awaits for the sun to set to give her working hands relief
Pinto beans and cornbread ready on the table for her to soon greet
