"Are you home?"
Aya asks after I've answered her call
"Yes babe I'm home, everything ok?"
I ask her
"I... can I come over?"
She asks
"Of cause you can"
I say and then we say our goodbyes
"Everything ok?"
Yanga asks walking into the room, I nod. Mila slept at Yaya's house last night. Yaya always wants the grandkids at her house. I think she enjoys the noise since all of us moved and have our own places. Marriage life has been great, Yanga is an amazing husband and a father to our child. I'm really genuinely happy with him, of cause we have our petty fights every now and then but the fights are not bigger than our love for each other.
"That was Aya, I think she may have argued with Roland"
I say as he climbs on the bed
"So now I can't enjoy my wife because my sister needs her"
He says towering over me, I giggle
"Sadly you cannot. Aren't you meeting Kyle to discuss a case?"
I ask him and he frowns
"I am but I was hoping we could give Mila a little brother or sister"
He says kissing me on my neck making me giggle
"Stop it"
I say giggling but he doesn't stop, he continues kissing me making his way to my boobs when our moment is disturbed by his ringing phone. I huff in frustration when he stops
"give me two seconds"
He says and then take his phone getting off the bed
"Hello"
He answers, I watch him as his expression changes
"Ok. I'll be there in a few minutes"
He says and then he cuts the call and lets out a sigh
"What?"
I ask him
"My past seems to be catching up with me"
He says and I frown
"Meaning?"
I ask him
"Apparently Tiara was really pregnant with my child and she's dead and left a note with DNA tests and everything"
He says. I don't respond or react, he walks over to sit beside me
"that was her sister calling and she says she doesn't have the means to take care of the child with Tiara gone, the child might go into the foster system"
He explains
"It's fine, go"
I say
"Honey look at me please"
He says making me look up at him
"I didn't mean for this to happen"
He says and I nod
"I know, you should go. We'll talk about this later"
I say and he nods and walks to the closet to get dressed. i slide down the bed and lay on my side. I don't know how I feel about my husband having a child, honestly I think I need time to process all of this. It doesn't make sense why this would come up now of all times. Things between us are so well, I think if the baby had came up before then he and I wouldn't be together right now because being a step mom was never part of my life plans. I really don't know what's going to happen from hereon but I can't hold this against him because he also didn't know about this child of his
"Honey"
I hear him call out to me, he uncovers me and then he plants a kiss on my forehead
"See you later"
He says and I nod. He takes his phone and then heads out. A few minutes after his departure Aya calls me telling me that she's at the gate. I get up and wear sweatpants and then go and open for Aya. She drives in and the parks the car in front then gets off. She takes of her shades when she gets to me
"You look like you've been crying"
I say pulling her into my arms, she sobs as I lead us inside. She pulls away from me
"Honey what happened?"
I ask her, she walks over to sit down. I walk to get her cold water and then place it in front of her
"Aya please talk to me"
I plead
"My marriage is over"
She says and I frown
"Why? What happened?"
She drinks the water and when she is finally calm she places the glass on the counter top
"Roland is a gangster"
She says and I can't even hide my shock
"My husband is part of the most dangerous group to ever live. He was involved in dad's shooting"
She explains, I place my hand over hers
"I'm sorry but to leave him Aya? That's a little drastic don't you think?"
I ask and she shoots me a look
"he almost killed my father. Lord knows what else he's done"
I let out a sigh
"Aya you are a little emotional and right now you letting your emotions cloud your judgement. You need to rest and think this through ok?"
She shakes her head
"I can't be with him Mercy, being with him will probably put my life and the kids lives in danger. I can't do that to myself and my children"
She says and I nod
"I understand that but Aya I think you and him should hear him out and then make your decision. If you really love Roland then you are going to sit down and understand him. Dad is alive and he's walking like nothing ever happened to him"
She shakes her head
"What about our children huh? This is no longer about me or dad but our children and their lives being in danger because of him. I can't do that to them Mercy"
She says
"Yanga has a child with Tiara"
I blurt out and she stops talking and looks at me
"I don't understand"
She says and I nod
"Yeah, me too but it happened. Sounds like she wasn't lying about being pregnant"
I say and she nods
"I am sorry to hear that. How are you holding up? When did this happen?"
She asks and I sigh
"We found out a few minutes ago. Tiara is dead and she left a note and DNA results proving the child to be Yanga's"
I say and she sighs
"Mercy I am really sorry to hear that. So what now?"
I shrug
"I don't know. I can't even get mad about it because the child happened years before we got married, before I even forgave him for the cheating you know"
I say and she nods
"Yeah but you allowed to react considering this child has to come and live with you guys. Will you be able to do it?"
She asks and I shrug
"I'll never make a child pay for his or her parents mistakes that's for sure but I need time"
