I was laying on my bunk bored as fuck until the warden said something to me catching my attention
"You have a cell mate Mcdaniel! Congratulations!" The warden said "wait- I thought I wasn't allowed to have a cell mate" I said looking at him through the bars annoyed
"Things changed and be nice" he said to me opening the cell and pushing her in making her stumble a little bit I hopped back up to my bunk minding my own business
"Rude." She said getting her Balance and she tried to get on the bottom bunk of my bunk
"No. That ones mine." I spat out harshly rolling my eyes
"I didn't know" she said rolling her eyes climbing to the other bunk sitting at the top
"Watch the attitude" I said looking at her with those dominant eyes, it was a key characteristic of mine
"I'm sorry" she said quickly but softly as she flinched a little
I felt bad once she flinched. I was just like her when I first came here I was scared and helpless it took a while for me to get my street cred here
I sighed "it's all good.." I said softly to her
"What are you in for?" I asked her. She looked too soft to even hurt a fly
She was really pretty she had long blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes which were now red and puffy which meant she was crying
She has very potent freckles scattered on her face and a scared puppy look was written all over her face
"Uh armed robbery and drug possession...you?" she asked me softly obviously she was very shy and it was cute but you can't be "cute" in a place like this it what gets you ran over
"Murder. Gang affliction. Drug possession. Robbery. Uh...stealing..gun possession" I said plainly as she looked at me with shock "you don't look like the type of person to do all of those things" she said
"You don't look like the type of person to rob nor own drugs" I said cracking a smile a she smiled back
"The drugs were mine but the robbery was my boyfriends— well Ex boyfriends idea. He thought I'd be a great idea to try and rob this lady at her own house and he basically gave me the gun and left me in the house while the cops came" she said
"How many years you got?" I asked her curiously "17. You?" She said "20. It would've been more but I was 16 when I got caught to I spent 2 years in juvenile then they brought me here for the 18 years left but I've been in here for a few months" I explained to her She nodded
We had a long conversation about everything you could possibly think of which isn't like me. The guard I made friends with is gonna bully me for this

I hopped down from my bunk and she followed me "Anna sit." I said feeling protective of the small girl "ag I-" "sit." I said cutting her off as she sat on my bunk like she was before
"She would never survive if she goes out there. They would kill her instantly and might even try to get inside of her pants and I'll be damned if I let that happen so you let her stay with me or I'll tell Jefferson that you tried to move her to a place here you know she'll get hurt and you know she wouldn't like that so I'd advise you leave her alone or you get fired for "endangerment of Prisoner" and we both know you don't want that." I said Inching closer and closer to him through the bars
"I-I-m sorry" he said as he walked off as Mendez, the guard I made friends with looked at me with a smirk on his face
"Hm..for you to not care about people you're being very protective of her" he said laughing making me roll my eyes "shut up" I said turning around and walking back to my bunk sitting next to Anna

"Lunch time girls!" The warden yelled making Anna jump "it's ok, you'll get used to the yelling after a few days I promise" I said as I hopped down from the bunk and she did the same thing as the bars opened and we walked to the cafeteria
Peoples eyes immediately made their way to Anna who was standing behind me and she looked at me with pure fear
"It's ok. They won't mess with you. Don't talk to anyone ok?" I said pulling her Infront of me as she nodded and got the low quality food they give us and we sat down she sat down Infront of me
She picked at her food and I don't blame her
"C'mon a you gotta eat something, the fruit isn't that bad, it's bearable" I said to her as she looked at me then slowly ate them
"See they aren't that bad" I said cracking a smile at her but it soon faded
Jail is no place for love. If i were to fall for her they'd take her away from me and put her somewhere else and I don't want that for the sake of her
These ladies are ruthless! They'd do anything to her and feel no remorse and might even keep doing it because they know she wouldn't tell anyone and even if she did they wouldn't do anything about it
I looked at anna and sighed looking away soon after looking down
She started talking to me telling me how much she liked me and loved me and I wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying, she was such a sweet girl and I wasn't...I'm not good for her and I think she knows it but she's writing a check that she can't cash
"shut up anna!" I said as she jumped and flinched slightly "I-I'm sorry" she said quickly as I got up and walked back to the cell and paced around
"What did I do wrong?" She asked me softly "Anna leave me alone" I said sat on my bunk and she sat next to me but I pushed her away
"Anna get away from me!" I yelled "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's wrong anna grace" she said as she sat in my lap looking at me, she knew sitting in my lap would calm me down but that's not the case today
I pushed off of melooked at her "I-I think it's better if I'm not around you" I said as she looked at me teary eyed
"Ag please.." she said softly and it hurt me but it was for the best, she climbed back in my lap and I was about to push her off again but she held my wrists down
"Tell me what's wrong" she said as I just broke down not being able to hold it In anymore
"Anna I can't fall in love you. We're in jail! This isn't the place for love and I'm not good for you and you know but you still want me" I said to her
"And I always will anna. I don't want anyone else but you and I know you feel the same way about me. It's ok. You aren't Gonna loose me and I'll be dammed if I loose you" she said to me as she kissed and she kissed me
"You're all mine regardless of you aren't mine." She said to me as I looked at her "I'm always gonna be yours" I said to her as she kissed me again
"Hey hey hey we can't do that" Mendez said peeping around the corner making us look at him "I'm kidding just don't get caught" he said flashing a smile at us then walking away as Anna just sat in my lap and I held her never wanting to let her go
