The party at the palace had ended with a lot of fanfare. Green was made to do the hero pose as the people said their farewells and left. He finally could relax and get a bite to eat, as he got up he noticed Red coming towards him holding a plate filled with food for him. He smiled at his long time best friend and partner, he couldn't wait to say they were lovers. But he understood Red's choice of becoming stronger first before announcing something intimate like that to the world.
Red handed the plate to him, "Got you a pick me up."
Green took the plate, "Thanks Red, I'm legit exhausted, who knew just sitting and watching would be so tiring."
Red smiled, "Could be worse you know. You could have been made to stand."
Green snorted searching his field, "They fell asleep."
Red nodded, "Yeah, I have kept half an eye on them for a while now. They are still in the castle like they said they would be, only sleeping."
Riley joined the two holding a muffin, "Who are you talking about?"
Green smiled, "Our younger brothers."
Riley blinked, "You can tell where they are?"
Green shook his head, "Not exactly, more like pinpoint their general direction."
Red nodded, "We need more practice before we can tell where exactly they are located provided they don't move far."
Riley whistled, "Now that's pretty useful. Think you could teach the sensors this method?"
Red, "Sensors?"
Riley nodded, "There are many types of Psychic and Aura users. Sensors are just one of them. The others are listeners, healers of specific field of course, front line hitters and spies."
Green, "I read about something like that at one point. It could make things so much easier for us if we taught some of the others. What do you think Red?"
Red hummed, "I can see the pros and cons for this and the pros outweigh the cons. Why not?"
Riley grinned, "I'll tell Arwen later. I think, she'll be interested in having more sensors out there."
They were joined by Cypress soon enough who looked around for the kids, "Where are your brothers? Are they sleeping already?"
Red nodded, "Yup! They were playing earlier with the Pokemon and fell asleep half way. We'll have to go pick them up later."
Green snorted, "Typical, they would fall asleep while playing. Guess, it's one of their more adorable quirks."
Riley pouted, "I never thought I would say this, but I'm very jealous right now. I wish I had a younger sibling to gush over too."
As the humans were talking the Pokemon had gathered as well to the side. They were having their conversations.
Lucario, -Welcome back!-
Riolu, -Welcome back Elder!-
Luc, -Thank you! How was your day?-
Lucario, -It was interesting all things considered.-
Riolu pouted, -Watching the tournament was fun then we had to do the boring job of patrolling.-
Luc flicked his head, -Now now! A duty is a duty no matter how boring it is.-
Snivy, -You are my Master's parent's Pokemon. It's an honor to meet you Elder.-
Luc, -It's a pleasure to meet a new family member. A word of advice little one? Never call any of the Ketchums Master. That's asking to be thrown into a therapy ward.-
Snivy blinked, -Eh? What?-
Fennekin snickered, -They don't like being called Master. They say, there is something really wrong with those who expect Pokemon to call them Master and such people should be locked away.-
Snivy, -Oh, I had no idea. No wonder, he was uncomfortable.-
Kadavra, -They mostly prefer it if we were friends or even better family.-
Luc nodded, -Correct!-
Lucario, -Your humans are very curious people. They do not brag about meeting Mew but treat it as a normal occurrence.-
Luc sighed, -Lords and Lady Mew are a complicated subject for them. The three of them adore the youngest two of the family and well.... -
Before Luc could finish however they heard a clatter coming from the group of humans. They looked at the group and found Green and Red looking worried and annoyed. Luc had a feeling he knew what happened, but he still approached them anyway.
Luc, -Partner?-
Cypress looked at Luc then at Red, "Son? What's wrong?"
Red looked at his father face pale, "They are gone!"
Green nodded a little pale faced, "They just disappeared. How could they just disappear?"
Cypress put two and two together, "Oh no! Not again!"
Ilene who had returned from saying goodbye to the guest heard Cypress groan, "What's wrong?"
Cypress, "My son and his friend has disappeared again."
The Head Maid with the Queen blinked, "They were playing with the Pokemon before, I saw them going to the furthest tower which is closest to the Tree of Beginning. There is no exit from that tower to outside the castle only inside towards the Castle grounds. They could not have gone far."
Red shook his head, "Not like that. I mean they disappeared like someone teleported them."
Riley frowned, "The Guardians are located everywhere in the castle grounds. They would not have allowed a Pokemon that's at a high level like that to come close to the two kids."
Green looked at Red who was frowning, "Red? Do you think it's one of those three?"
Red pursed his lips, "I have no doubt! Who else can hide as a normal Pokemon and enter the Palace at this point?"
Lucario tilted his head, -Who are you talking about?-
Cypress sighed, "Mew! And if I'm correct about it then we'll soon have a bunch of irate Pokemon on our hands."
Just as he said that a couple of Pokemon burst into the ballroom which earned a 'Called it', from Cypress. Red gave his Dad a 'really' look to which he just grinned sheepishly. He and Green got down to Pikachu and Eevee's height. They were talking furiously and making angry motions.
Red, "Slow down you two and explain what happened."
Green nodded, "Yeah little bud, you are talking too fast."
Eevee took a deep breath, -We were playing all of us. Checking this place out, the garden, the secret passages, the tunnels, towers etc. We were having fun like we used to.-
Pikachu nodded fuming, -Then Mew joined us by pretending to be another Pokemon. We warned him, we warned that bloody damned annoying legendary not to try anything. But that thrice damned legendary still does this type of Giratina level crap. I'm so furious right now!-
Snivy looked at Luc, -Wao! So this happened!-
Luc simply nodded exhausted while Lucario was blinking at the amount of swear words that came out of the normally sweet Pikachu. Red sweat dropped understanding half the angry words Pikachu was saying but he figured in his defense it was understandable.
Charmander, -Mew has chosen our partners. Following him was the best choice we made.-
Litten nodded, -Aye! Just shows how awesome they will be once they become proper trainers.-
Pikachu and Eevee looked at the two Fire types, (¬_¬) -These two battle obssessed idiots!-
They would have tackled the two Fire types and fought them, if Red and Green had not picked them up and started to calm them down. They whispered words of comfort to the two worried Pokemon and how lucky Ash and Gary were to have such awesome, caring and wonderful Pokemon like them. And no legendary Pokemon in this world would replace them as from what they have seen their younger brothers don't want that type of attention on them.
Pikachu calmed down a bit, -What do we do big brother?-
Eevee was frustrated and grumbling, -Yeah! They were taken when we were asleep.-
Green pat Eevee, "Don't worry, we'll get them back. We just need to know where they would go."
Ilene spoke up, "May I ask what happened?"
Red explained everything the Pokemon had told them much to the Queen's surprise, "Are you sure Mew took your younger siblings?"
Green nodded feeling exhausted, "Yes! It wouldn't be the first time either."
Pikachu and Eevee nodded in agreement looking just as much tired as they felt. It didn't help it was past midnight and already morning at one o'clock. The Queen rubbed her forehead trying to understand this situation, true things went missing before but never children.
Cypress spoke up, "How about we all get some rest first? We all look like we are about to fall unconscious any minute. We will talk about this in detail tomorrow. Red, Green keep Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander and Litten with you. I don't want them running around and panic searching for Ash or Gary."
Ilene, "I agree! Get some rest first we'll talk about this come morning."
The group broke up to go to their rooms to get rest. Red and Green looked at the beds in their room which were for their younger brothers and looked outside while comforting the Pokemon. They wondered where their two youngest were and what Mew wanted from them. The first time they saw them it was curiosity about their siblings, the second time to play, third time they wanted Ash and Gary's attention making Pikachu and Eevee jealous and last time they saw Mew, their abilities were awakened.
Red sighed, "Come here Pikachu, let's sleep. We'll search for Ash tomorrow after resting up properly okay little bud."
Pikachu was grumbling barely stopping himself from running out, -I hate this! Why can't they find their own partner why mine?-
Charmander was holding his tail, -We will get them back.-
Snivy spoke up, -This has happened before, if I am understanding this right and they have returned safely right?-
At Pikachu's nod Snivy continued, -Then believe you will get your Ma... Partner back. My Partner and I will help you too.-
Pikachu nodded determined, in another room Green was having a similar conversation with Eevee, his Pokemon were fascinated by the fact Mew was here. They decided to call it a night and sleep, something told them tomorrow they would have their first official mission. The next morning they woke up and went to the breakfast hall, Pikachu and Eevee were restless and the only thing keeping them settled were the presence of the older siblings and family.
Ilene, "Good morning everyone! I'm glad you are all here. Please eat, I'll explain what I know while we fill our bellies."
The Queen then explained the legend of Mew and her suspicions that Mew had most probably taken the youngest children to the Tree of Beginning. She then proceeded to explain the history of Rota and the connection between the Tree of Beginning and Mew, how it is believed to be the birthplace of all Pokemon. She then got up as they finished their breakfast and took out an envelope that she handed to Riley.
Ilene, "This is your assignment. Riley I want you to take Aura Apprentice Red and Psychic Apprentice Green with you. Psychic and Aura users have a strong rivalry, however when it was necessary they would work together to solve the problems. This is a chance to better the relationships between the two."
Riley took the envelope and nodded, "I understand, my Queen."
Ilene then looked at Lucario, "Lucario, I know you still have questions. Might I suggest you join them on this quest?"
Lucario blinked, -My Queen?-
Ilene, "Legend has it Sir Aaron actually went to the Tree of Beginning to end the war. Perhaps you might find your answers there."
Lucario nodded, -I understand. It is possible he left a clue there or at least something that explains his actions.-
Riley smiled, "Welcome to the team, Lucario."
Riolu, -Welcome!-
With that said the group decided to prepare for the quest. Pikachu and Eevee ate their fill and joined Red and Green to prepare for the journey while Litten and Charmander were with Lucario. Cypress still had to patrol but he promised to keep an eye out just in case the boys returned first with Mew. The three boys were ready to hike up the mountain after a few minutes and with Lucario leading the way they made their way into the Tree of Beginning.
