Innumerable curses upon Shimr ibn Ziljawshan,
The enemy of Allah who journeyed to Karbala to kill
Aba Abdullah after Ibn Ziyad received a letter from
Ibn Sa'ad falsely stating that the Imam promised to
Go to Yazid and offer his hand or to go away to an
Islamic border-town. May they dwell in eternal
Damnation and punishment for fighting the Imam!
Kirman, a retainer of Abdullah ibn Abi Mahl—the uncle
Of Ummul Baneen—brought a document of security
From Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad to the sons of Ummul Baneen;
Abbas, Abdullah, Ja'far, and Usman, but they turned him
Down saying "Convey our greetings to our uncle and tell
Him that we are in no need of his security. Verily Allah's
Security is better than that of the son of Sumayyah."
Woe betide those who desired them to betray their brother
Husayn and submit to the accursed sons of accursed fathers!
Woe betide those who offered them security and
Denied Imam Husayn! Woe betide the foes of Allah!
On Thursday, the night of 9th Muharram—Tasoo'ah,
Ibn Sa'ad proceeded towards Imam Husayn with his army.
Hazrat Zaynab ran towards the Imam when she heard the
Hue and cry of the troops, while he was reclined against his
Sword with his head on his knees and was dozing off. She
Asked him "O dear brother! Do you not hear this hue and
Cry advancing towards us"? And the Imam replied "I have just
Seen the Prophet of Allah (S) in a dream and he told me that
Tomorrow I shall be united with them." Hearing this,
Hazrat Zaynab started beating her face and wailing.
