Lillie's POV-
I stared on in awe and delight at Snowy as she stood there on the battlefield. She was battered and bruised after being hit by Clefable's Brick Break move, yet she still stood there, ready to fight on and continue pushing forward. In a way she's many times stronger than I was back then, and might even be stronger than I am now.
My eyes began scanning the battlefield, and taking in the sight of all the debris and cover that was between Snowy and Clefable. I took a deep breath after a few moments of considering all the options, and the best way to go about beating my very first Pokemon.
"Snowy, are you ready to make our counter attack?" I questioned her, making sure to get her attention as I spoke to her.
Snowy turned her head to look back at me, as she let out a cry of approval in response to my question.
"Alright Snowy, let's start off with Double Team, make sure they can't tell which one you are." I told her, as I heard a scoff from the otherside of the battlefield.
When I lifted my gaze from Snowy, I found Lusamine laughing as she looked back at me. "You think a simple move like Double team is going to trip me up during all of this? Oh how naive of you." She said as she let out another condescending laugh.
Her laughing was like nails on a chalkboard to my ears, but I couldn't let that get to me right now. "You know Lusamine, it's that kind of ignorance that's gonna make you lose this battle!" I shouted to her.
Snowy's body started glowing with a light blue outline, as copies started appearing from her, and began forming a circle around Clefable. Once Clefable was fully encircled, I waited for Lusamine to make the next move. I knew where Snowy was in the double team, we had practiced it on the day we trained with Ash.
Lusamine snickered and looked at me. "Aww, you're still not gonna call me mother, that's hurtful to me dear daughter." She said in a mocking tone as she spoke. "But alas, it's time to end these games, Clefable, I think you can tell which one is the real one. Use Meteor Mash and destroy the little runt." She continued.
Clefable's fist started to glow yellow as she rushed towards where it thought Snowy was, which was the completely opposite direction of where she actually was.
I grinned to myself and decided to try and fake out Lusamine and Clefable. "Snowy, dodge and rush Clefable, then use Ice Beam." I told her, as I waited for Snowy to rush Clefable from behind.
Clefable put all of it's momentum into the swing of it's Meteor Mash, certain that it was going to send Snowy flying. so much so that when she struck the copy and passed right through it, she lost her balance and almost fell over. That's when Snowy dropped the double team and rushed Clefable.
Snowy crossed the distance of the battlefield very quickly and in a matter of moments was almost ontop of Clefable. Snowy didn't risk getting too close to Clefable, but from where she was, there was no way that Clefable could dodge the attack. Snowy opened her mouth and a blue aura formed at her mouth as she got ready to fire her Ice Beam.
"Clefable, make yourself useful and use Flamethrower." Lusamine told Clefable, as she stood there with an almost sadistic smile on her face, she knew exactly what would happen when the attacks would connect.
Clefable turned on Snowy and opened her mouth, letting forth an intense flame that rocketed towards Snowy, as Snowy let forth her own Ice Beam. The two attacks made contact in the space between them, neither one giving any ground. Only a few moments passed before the attacks combined and the space between the two of them exploded, sending both Clefable and Snowy flying back towards their respective sides of the field.
Clefable and Snowy landed on the ground a little ways away from each other with a loud unnerving thud. both of them laid there unmoving on the ground as a silence settled on the battlefield. As I stood there I silently prayed for Snowy to get up as I waited with baited breath for one of them to move.
My prayers were answered soon afterwards as I watched Snowy slowly getting up. It took a few moments, but she finally stood victorious while Clefable was knocked out on the field. I smiled and looked back at Infernape, and waved him to me, so he could come along with me as I walked onto the field, to act as a bodyguard of sorts for me.
I ran onto the field as Snowy staggered and fell onto her side. Once I reached Snowy, I knelt onto the ground beside her and slowly ran my hand through the cold yet dirtied white fur on her head.
I gave her a soft smile as I looked down at her. "You did amazing Snowy, I'm really proud of you." I said to her as I smiled at her. "You deserve a long rest, treats, and a bath when we get back home." I told her, as I reached down and scooped her into my arms.
Snowy let out a weak cry of approval before closing her eyes and laying her head back in my arms. As I stood up and started readying myself to walk back to my side of the field, I heard Lusamine yelling at Clefable.
When I looked over to Lusamine and Clefable, I saw Lusamine bringing her foot back and slamming it into Clefable's side over and over again, each kick eliciting a small pained whimper from Clefable as it just laid there. The sight alone made me upset, but what I heard next enraged me In a way that I didn't think was possible.
"You're such a useless Pokemon, It's no wonder you used to be that little brats Pokemon, you're just a pair of useless, wastes of space!" Lusamine yelled at Clefable, as she was getting ready to kick it in the side of the head.
I looked to Infernape, who was visibly upset, as the flames from his body were bigger and bit more out of control than they normally were. I nodded to Infernape and pointed towards Lusamine. "Infernape, use Flamethrower, give her a little warning shot, and make sure to singe her foot a little bit while you're at it." I said to him.
Infernape nodded in response before opening his mouth and letting loose a plume of fire from his mouth. The fire traveled across the battlefield and hit ground between Lusamine and Clefable, burning the end of Lusamines foot as she let out a cry of pain, one of which brought a grin to my face.
Lusamine's gaze drifte back in my direction, her face contorted in pain and anger as she yelled at me. "How dare you do that you little runt, you think you can just get away with attacking me like that?!" Lusamine shouted, as her remaining Pokemon came up to stand by her side.
I glared back at her as I stood there with Snowy in my arms. "Don't you dare lay a single hand on Clefable, I'm already beyond enraged from what you did to Ash. Don't make this any worse for yourself than you alread have." I responded to her, my voice calm and collected, yet full of rage at the same time. There was a fire in my eyes, and a raging inferno in my heart, I wasn't about to let her get away with all of this.
Lusamine's expression faltered for a moment as she saw the fire in my eyes, and the deathly glare I was giving her. Though she recovered moments later as she started laughing. "You really think you can defeat me, you don't even have any idea what I really brought you here for. My goal was never your brother, it was never your little boy toy Ash either. I needed you for this machine behind me." She told me, as she pointed to the Ultra Space portal machine behind her.
"I plan on tossing you in there and using you as my guinea pig, I'll get rid of you, and I'll be able to test my new machine. I feel like it's a win-win for me." She continued as she snickered.
My gaze drifted from the machine, back to Lusamine, and then back to the machine again as I stood there with mild horror and fear in my eyes. "Why do you have it out so badly for me?" I asked as I looked at her again.
Lusamine grinned and looked me right in the eyes as she responded to my question. "Isn't it obvious? You've been nothing but a burden and a waste of space to this family. You've done nothing except ruin my life since you came into this world, you took my husband away from me, you turned my own son against me, and now you're trying to stop me from achieving the one goal I've worked towards since before you were born. So why don't you make it up to me and make yourself useful for one last time in your miserable, worthless little life. I'm sure your little boy toy would be much better off without you too." She told me.
I tried to not let it get to me, but it still hurt like hell to hear it all at once. I stood there with Snowy in my arms, the words slowly burrowed into my head and started consuming my thoughts as I began slowly shaking. The memories of the night my father died, and the subsequent years of abuse that followed afterwards came flooding back in an instant, as tears started slowly rolling down my face.
"Don't let her control you Lillie, you're not worthless, you're not a wast a space, and I sure as hell wouldn't be better off without you. I could never find someone as amazing as you, so don't you dare give up Lills."
My gaze slowly drifted over to where the voice had came from, and found Ash slowly sitting up from where he was laying. He was still bloody, battered, and bruised, yet he still had a grin on his face as he spoke to me.
"I-I know I shouldn't...It's just hard not to think about the years of hell she put me through, all for these made up and unreal reasons.." I responded, as I heard Lusamine laughing from across the field.
"How about you just give it up little boy, she's a worthless lost cause, and you'd honestly be better off just giving up on her and trying to save yourself." She said as she continued laughing.
I could hear an exasperated sigh come from Ash as he slowly shook his head. "Lusamine, can you just shut the hell up for like two minutes, your voice is so damn annoying. I'm trying to talk to someone who is actually worth a lot to me, not someone like you." Ash responded as he started slowly getting to his feet.
"How about i teach you a lesson about respect you insolent little runt." She responded as she nodded to the Asbol that was beside her. "Absol use Fire Blast on him, make sure there's nothing left of him." She continued.
Absol nodded in confirmation, as it stepped forward and opened its mouth and let loose a fiery blast that rocketed towards Ash.
I watched on in horror as the Fire Blast sped across the battlefield and towards Ash. Donphane and Sceptile moved to stand infront of Ash, as the Fireblast made contact and exploded, enveloping the group in smoke and dust.
Everything went silent around me, as the only thing I could hear was myself screaming in horror.
"Ash!!"
