Levin POV
The people in the cafe I recognize. They sit and joke while ordering their coffee, except for one of them, who looks confused and disturbed.
That young man again, Sasaki, and his subordinates sat at a table in Re, all of them relaxing apparently. I stared at him for a long time, wondering why he's looking like he is.
Touka takes their orders with the kindest smile I've seen her out on... ever. Was she playing it off because their investigators? Or was she sad about something, that smile had a tinge of sadness, as if remembering something painful.
I look down at their order, as Touka handed it to me, saying that she'd take care of it, going in the back to make it. I keep quiet, trying not to make myself noticed. But luckily they don't notice me.
Touka gives them their coffee, and suddenly... the investigator starts to tear up, after drinking the coffee.
Everyone starts joking, telling him to stop the jokes. He wipes his tears with a napkin Touka handed him.
"It's good... really good." He said slowly while having a gentle smile.
Touka smiled sadly. "Thank you."
She walked to the back, in the kitchen, and I walked in, but stopped myself, hearing something i didn't think was possible.
Touka was sitting at the dining table, her hands enveloped on her face as she wept, tears falling onto the table and her body shook as she breathed in. Why was she crying? Why was she sad back in the cafe?
I frown, seeing Yomo walk past me in the hall, I stop him, grabbing his shoulder. "Who is that investigator? Before it looked as if you knew him, and now Touka is crying over something after seeing him? Your hiding something." I said.
Yomo gave me a blank look, then, "It's nothing you need to know-"
Anger flared in me, and i grabbed Yomo's collar to his shirt, pulling him down to my height, meeting him eye to eye at the same level. My eyeglasses into him.
"I need to know! There's something going on that I don't know about, and I want to know!" I yelled.
Yomo closed his eyes. "Just because-"
"I'm tired of being in the dark!" I yells in his face, making him open his eyes again and glare at me.
"It's none of your business." He said simply.
I flinch, my eyes going wide with surprise. None of... my business? Was it really none of my business? It wasn't... and I know that... but...
I want to know.
I don't care if that sounds selfish, I want to do something to help, I don't care if I have to beat the crap outta someone to do that! I clench my fist harder to the point that I'm almost ripping his shirt.
"fine..." I said, letting go of his shirt and letting my face linger downwards, my hair covering my face, shadowing it.
I brush past Yomo and stop in front of my room. "Then I'm leaving sooner than expected." I said.
Yomo flinched, probably thinking of how Yoshimura would react if i left before my week of training. I don't care if he'll get in trouble.
"But Yoshimura said-" He started again, but i interrupt him, annoying him a bit.
"Apparently it none of my business, meaning you have nothing to do with me... so whether I leave early or not is none of you damned business." I said with a dark tone.
Yomo kept his mouth shut, knowing i basically told him out. I quickly enter my room and throw my stuff in it, staring at the gun for a moment before stuffing it into my bag.
I need to get away from this, all of it. If Yoshimura really wants me to be here for some reason, then he can tell me what's him and the others are hiding, more like who their hiding. It all revolves around that investigator...
I walk out to the cafe, my bag on my back and my coat on. I walk past the other doves and stop in front of Sasaki, making him flinch when seeing me stop. For a moment, I stare into his eyes, both of us silent, the other doves look over at us, wondering what were doing.
I turn and walk out the door suddenly, Sasaki's eyes following me all the way out the door.
Sasaki POV
What was that about? I stare at the back of the kid that stopped in front of me. Blue hair, dark eyes... but he didn't speak, just stared at me for a moment, as if thinking.
He seems familiar somehow... oh yeah! I saw him at that restaurant one time about a couple days ago. Small world? I frown while cupping my hand on my chin.
"What was that about?" Urie asked, his boorish eyes still dull as ever.
I smile. "It was probably nothing, one with the case, right?" I asked.
Shirazu sighed. "What a weird kid..."
Mitsuki smiles nervously. "I-I think he's quite close to our age, by the looks of it."
Urie groaned an annoyed groan. "Lets get on with discussing the new case, Nutcracker, was it?"
I swallow, kind of nervous. Yeah, a ghoul woman that kidnaps men and crushes their nuts, and slurping them up after killing them. Disgusting... I put the file on the table and Mitsuki snatches it up, reading it carefully.
"It's actually really disturbing seeing that file..." Shirazu said, scratching his head.
I nod. "Just another reason to take this one down. But we still don't know her face, so I have a feeling we'll need to do some extra investigation." I mumbled.
The others were quiet as we all got up from the table and I left a bill. That coffee... and that girl... I remember them, I think. I know for a fact now that i knew her before... but does she recognize me? If i were to ask her about myself, would she tell me?
I frown. I'll see that in the future, I'm going to have to face my past self, but I'm afraid of what I was like. If I remember, will I become a total different person? Or will I stay as Sasaki Haise?
??? POV
Somewhere in the 1st Ward...
"And what of the Crow that escaped his cage a few months ago..." Asked one of us who sat in a circle.
Another one of us smiles. "He is having a pleasant life right now." He said.
I smirk. "Oh, that's too bad. He is the most important thing since the Yoshimura incident... sometime in the future he's not going to have such a nice life anymore." I said with dark intent.
A man with long black hair flinched. "But Ma'am... what about Vincent? Isn't he a problem that can give away our secrets?" He said.
I smiled wider. "Vincent is not a worry as long as we have him in custody. But it seems our primary thoughts are on Yoshimura, he's been trying to make him stay away from us in that cafe of theirs." I said, stirring my coffee with a small and thing spoon.
This is mine. My organization, my city, my pawns. I look at the chessboard in front of me and smile. I bet if Yoshimura saw me, he'd definitely try to kill me, just like we ordered him to do to his wife. What a poor man, unable to defy us.
"Meeting adjourned for now. Focus on Crows activity and how close Yoshimura is getting to us... and if he is close enough, wipe him out." I said, as the others in the council walked out of the room.
Oh Vincent... why did you leave us? You were such a great addition to us, but right when you looked promising, you left...
Vincent Valhalla... what a particular name...
I smirk as I move a piece on the board.
"Looks like it's your turn, Nest..."
(Yay! Finally busted out another part, sorry I didn't update for the weekend, but I had lots of stuff to do, and I work, so that's new... Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed!) - MnMs171
Levin quits his job if Yomo and Yoshimura don't tell him about Sasaki. Sasaki is revealed to be thinking about Touka, wondering if he should talk to her. And a shady organization that has ties with the death of Yoshimura's wife and Vincent? Who are these people that believe they own this city?
