Muzza began walking out of the barracks when the door opens to Darth Zannah.
"Lieutenant it's time to brief your men on the siege," Darth Zannah said looking at Muzza
"Understood," Muzza responded
Muzza and Darth Zannah walked out of the barracks to the hangar. Muzza put in a fresh DC-15LE Cartridge and then put his rifle on his back. Muzza and Zannah walked to the huge crowd of troopers and watched them all stand at attention. Muzza did a hand motion to gather the troops around the holo table to begin his briefing.
"listen up, this is the Republic FOB here on Ossus around the FOB is trenches made by the 985th Valath Platoon. We will have 3 paths for the 597th troops." Muzza said "The 81st infantry will move up the middle of the canyon with the 53rd Armored. Republic Intelligence says there are 2 communication relays for the separatist main base"
Muzza points towards relay 1 position
"Mudjumpers will be moving to relay 1, Havoc Platoons Tempest squad will be assisting us with taking our Relay 2," Muzza says
"What will you need of Guardian?" Lich asks
"Guardian will be covering the skies of Separatist Gunships, stopping the Inserts of Droids" Muzza Responds
Lich acknowledges and walks towards the gunships, Muzza looks at everyone and nods. Everyone goes to the LAATs to prepare the drop off at the FOB. Muzza is approached by Lord Davarok and Sergeant Major Avor.
"Lieutenant Muzza, Whiskey Company is at your disposal at all times where would you like us?" asked Avor
"Avor, I'd like for Whiskey Company to be in the front with the rest of the 81st and 53rd. Once we make it to the temple I want Whiskey Company to pull security around the temple. No one goes in or out." Muzza responded
Avor nodded at Muzza and then walked away with Davarok to the rest of Whiskey Company who began boarding the LAATs. Muzza boarded a LAAT with his mudjumpers and Darth Zannah. The doors of the LAATs closed and took off towards the ground forces in the FOB. The LAAT doors open once they were closer to the ground, Muzza saw the troops already running out of the LAATs into the trenches to repel the incoming droid attack. The LAATs landed and Muzza immediately began directing troops to their locations and their armored vehicles. Muzza sees his commlink blinking and answered the call.
"This is Tempest actual to Mudjumper Actual over" Said Ace over the commlink to Muzza
"This is Mudjumper Actual, send it Tempest Actual" Responded Muzza
"Be advised there is a LAAT of recruits coming your way" Ace said
"Solid copy Tempest Actual, we'll handle em, Mudjumper Actual out" Muzza responded
The 4 recruits walked up to Muzza and then stood at attention. Muzza looked at each of them and then turned away and walked to his men. The recruits were startled by the fact he walked away and followed him.
"You 4 recruits shouldn't be here," Muzza said.
"Sir with all due respect, Sergeant Major Galek sent us to give you intel," one of the recruits said
"And this intel is?" Muzza replied
"The Radio relays that you are supposed to destroy won't matter for the droids communications," One of the recruits said
Muzza stopped in his tracks and turned to the recruits
"Let me guess, Tactical droids," Muzza said
The recruit nodded and then continued
"Each tactical droid on the field transfers its knowledge to one another, that's their orders and communications, we take them out we stop the droids from getting orders"
"And how do we find these tactical droids, they will be in the huge amounts of droids, if we try to kill them we'd just be slaughtered," Muzza said
The recruit pulled up a hologram of the plan
"the tactical droids are at the relay's but have a heavy security detail, we take out both relay and droid, we will have a clear shot towards the temple"
"then let's get moving troopers" Muzza responded
The mudjumpers moved out to the cliff that the relay was on, Tempest squad called in on commlink that they are in combat with the droids at their relay. The 81st infantry, and 53rd armored alongside Darth Zannah, Jedi Guardian Zara, and Davarok pushed the massive droid infantry in the canyon. The mudjumpers and 4 recruits push up to a couple rocks looking at the relay.
"Alright, Skipper get up on that rock formation and get a good sniping position, the rest of you are on me we are taking them head-on," Muzza said
"You got it boss" Skipper said
The mudjumpers and recruits pushed into the droid communications relay and started gunning down droids. A commando droid pushes a crate out of the way and shoots one of the recruits in the shoulder. The recruit falls to the ground and then gets dragged behind cover by Merik. Muzza pushes the commando droid as it drops its E-5 and pulls its vibro-blade. The commando droid swings at Muzza with the vibro blade, Muzza ducks and grabs the droid by the head and blows its circuits out with his DC-17. Merik returns to the battle and points his DC-15A at the Tactical droid and shoots its head.
"nice work Merik" Muzza said, "how is that recruit?"
"He was grazed but he'll be fine sir" Merik responded
Muzza receives a transmission from tempest squad saying they have taken out the relay and the commando droid. Muzza grabs his binoculars and looks at the push into the canyon. He sees the droids retreating while the 81st infantry, and 53rd armored push in farther.
"Everything is going as planned, next push would be the temple," Muzza said, "Get the recruit up and let's keep moving, we are regrouping with the main force."
The troops nodded, picked up the injured recruit and began moving down the cliff to the main force. The injured recruit called out to muzza apologizing for getting injured.
"Listen, rookie, this is war there is nothing to be sorry about, scratches like those is what gets you far into the baddest platoon of the republic, so keep your head up," Muzza said
The mudjumpers reach the main force where the Spider walkers of the 53rd do 360 degrees security around the setup camp. Muzza walks over to the holotable where Davarok, Zannah, Zara, and Avor are standing speaking more in-depth of the plan.
"Whiskey Company will push up to the stairs of the temple and hold off the droids from there," Davarok said to Zannah
"Even if Whiskey Company holds the stairs of the temple, the 81st infantry would have to push into the temple that is in ruins. The droids will have corridors secured and can ambush the 81st infantry." Zannah responds
"There is a way to get around the droids, according to the Jedi council there are secret tunnels in the temple that can outmaneuver the droids," Zara says
"With the tunnels, we have a chance to retake the temple," Muzza said coming to the table
"ah, lieutenant it is nice of you to join us," Avor said, "We are just discussing the plan further,"
Muzza looks at Zara taking off his helmet and holding it on his side
"Sir, if I may ask what is in this temple that we are recovering?" Muzza asked
"There are many Jedi texts from the old republic in the temple but there is also a relic of Revan when he was a Jedi knight," Zara responded
Muzza put on his helmet, acknowledged the rest of the plans, and walked off to speak with Pierce.
"Pierce whats the sitrep on the spider walkers?" Muzza asked
"Let's ask my field technician," Pierce says turning around, "Oi Engi get over here!"
Engi runs over to Pierce and Muzza, salutes them both, and then stands at attention.
"Engi how are the spider walkers looking?" Pierce asked
"So far sir the Spider walkers don't have a scratch, we lost one spider walker in the battle to an Anti-Tank droid but we will be fine to still attack the temple," Engi answered
Pierce and Muzza acknowledge and walk away. Pierce goes to guide his men on resupplying the troops with ammunition and Muzza goes to the medics working on the recruit that was injured.
"How are you holding up rookie" Muzza asks
"Doing fine, just a scratch like you said. These scrap heads are going to regret messing with us" The recruit responded
"You're a real hardhead, rookie" Muzza responded, "When this siege is over, we will speak on the leviathon about your reassignment,"
The recruit saluted and Muzza walked away. Muzza walked to the rest of the mudjumpers who were sitting at the crates of ammunition seeing them resupply.
"seems like these recruits are going to be joining havoc platoon after this siege" Merik says
"Havoc needs more bodies especially after what happened on dantooine when the LAAT blew up" Skipper responded
"I agree with you both but for now they are assigned to us, so if we really want them to get into havoc then we gotta make sure they stay alive," Muzza said
