Locklan's pov
I followed Lydia's scent and I ended up at two big oak doors
I see Suzan and Amelia excite
"um hey is Alpha Maze in there" I point to the doors, and Suzan turnt to me to reply
"yeah, but I would wouldn't go in I would wait outside the room for her"
"okay thank you"
With that they both walk off hand in hand, I envied them
I waited outside for a while feeling more anxious as each second passed
I then heard Lydia's groawl and some shouting
It took all my will power to not storm in there and see how had upset my mate
But then it went pretty silent again making me worry something happenes
I take a deep breath about to walk in
When the doors open and Lydia and Suzan walk out
I instantly noticed how exhausted Lydia looked
She looked like she was going to faint or calaps
"what happened to her?"
I turn to her warrior with worrie, and Lydia speaks up
"I'm fine just feel tied, I over exhausted my wolf this morning"
*I don't think that's the reason I would have smelled her on the grounds this morning or at least her smell lingering*
*calm down Duncan mate wouldn't lie to us"
He growled in my head at my command
Lydia was leaning on Lisa for support so I walked closer
"here let me help, we're are we heading"
But as I put Lydia's arm over my shoulder she pulls away
Duncan whined at her movement
"I'm fine Locklan I'm just going to lay down until I need to get ready for tonight"
"yeah I have got this, no need to fear I'm stronger than I look I'm a warrior and her guard after all"
I hesitate but walk off and head to the field where some wolves were training so I decided to join them
Lydia's pov
I watch as Locklan walks away
And Daisy tryes to scold me for turning him away
I turn to Lisa and give a weak smile
"Lydia you shouldn't have healed me I know how much it hurts and weakens you, I could live with it after all it was just a bruise"
I just smile at her
"I know, but it clearly hurt, I didn't..."
I take deep breath trying to push my pain away "I didn't like to see you, in pain"
She just gives me a look
We walk towards my room and she helps me lay on my bed
"Lisa?"
"hmm"
"how would you feel about being my guard full time"
She turt to me and her face lit up
"are you serious?" she asked as if just to make sure I wasn't joking
"I'm serious"
She squeesled and pulled me into the biggest hug
I knew she didn't like the other pack warriors and we were pretty close and after the way she stood up the the Alpha King knowing she would lose and get hurt
It made me realise I can truly trust her with my safety and this way she still can do the thing she loves
I smile at her as she leaves practilly skipping

I was woken up by a knock at my door I get up still a little exhausted to see who it was
It was Suzan, Sophie, Lisa and Amelia as well
I invite them in
They all start chatting and get ready
Once everyone was read except me Lisa decided to ask a question
"Lydia?"
"yeah"
"Well, what is the deal with Locklan? He seemed really conserned about you earlier"
I sat at the end of my bed staying quiet
"umm if it helps Lydia, I hope you don't mind but I told Sophie, Amelia and Lisa that you are the Midnight shadow and that Danta Fare is the one that got away"
I looked up and her angerky but also thankfully knowing I won't have to have the awkward conversation
I sigh
"Okay but you girls have to promise to keep what Suzan told you about me and what I'm about to tell you a secret"
They all nod scencerly
"Okay so, Locklan Fares farther is the rough that snapes my father's neck and helped pinned Mark down about to have his neck broken, but he was the only one who managed to walk away"
"i get that's why you have been trying to avoid Locklan, I saw you run off last night, but it doesn't tell us why he seamed so conserned I mean you just meat" Lisa commented
Then a excited squeel comes from Sophie
"please tell me it is what I think it is?" she pleaded happily
"what do you mean what is it?" Amelia questioned Sophie and everyone turnt to me
I sigh again
I seamed to be doing that alot lately
"if you were thinking that me and Locklan were mates then you are right, me and Locklan are mates but I carnt have a mate"
I stare at my lap
Then all four girls start squelling and jumping and even danced a little
Then Suzan froze staring at me
"wait! What do you mean you carnt have a mate?"
All of them stop dancing and are glaring daggers at me
"I carnt have a mate because first off I want to kill his farther and plan to so he will hate and regect me anyway, secondly if we do eventual become official my secret of being a born she-alpha will get out eventually and people will come after me and want to harm or kill me"i take a deep breath and swallow the stone in my throat
"and well I don't want him to be there and get hurt or killed because of me"
They all stare scencerly at me and sit on the bed rapping in in a group hug
"it's alright to be scared and I know by the way he was worried about you he could never hate you" Lisa said
"and if he tryes he will have to deal with a whole pack kicking his ass" Sophie said and the others nod in agreement
"also I'm afraid being afraid is part of having a mate, worring every second of the day about them, it is part of what makes your time with them so special. He is the other half of your soul he will fight by your side until he takes his last breath" Sophie adds
"iv only known Suzan for a short time but I'm already to give my life for her" she kisses Suzan forehead "you are in this together, we all are"
We all sat there in silence then Lisa jumps up and turns to me
"now how about we get you ready Alpha Maze?"
