Lorna POV
It's a Thursday afternoon 3:30 pm 1982 my best friend April and I are in our hotel room in Antigua. We haven't been here long we practically just got here and it's so hot we weren't expecting it to be this hot so we're dressed in clothes for warm weather because it's so cold back in England where April and I are from.
"Lorna look at us we look like shit" April says looking at us both in the mirror.
"I mean we've looked worse but we could look better."
I unzip my suitcase to find a mountain of clothes which have just ended up all over the floor. April looks at me and laughs while putting MTV on the telly.
"Hey April what about this one" I say holding it up against my body.
"Yeh that one, it's lush but what one do you recon I should wear" she says holding up two outfits one of them being a blue jumpsuit and the other being a skirt and a light green crop top.
"I recon the jumpsuit it's cute" I say while putting on my red lace flowey dress with a bikinil under because the dress is kind of see through.
Both of us are now dressed and are looking at each other in the mirror then suddenly our favourite song comes on the telly.
"Oh shittt" I say looking at April
"Its look of lovee!!" She screams
But sadly we turned the telly off and go out side because we didn't come in holiday to spend it in our room.
As we're leaving the hotel I'm being hit by the heat I turn to prilley (April, prilley is my nickname for her) and pull a face so she pulls the same back and decide to walk down to the beach.
Gladly I'm now at the beach with prilley and have layed our towels down to sunbathe.
"Oi look over there" prilley says so I look to my left.
"Not that way stupid the other way" she snaps while laughing
"Yeh it's a group of boys so what" I say sarcastically not being fussed.
"It's not just any group of boys tho it's Duran Duran" prilley whispers excitedly.
Prilley has been a huge fan of Duran Duran since they became big last year, she has posters of them all over her walls so this is a massive deal for her She talks about them all the time. I'll admit they're good and a few of them are good looking especially Nick Rhodes and John Taylor, prilley likes Simon le Bon nick and John.
"Should we go talk to them" prilley asks all excited
"Nope that would be stup..."
"omg one of them is looking at me" she quietly squeals.
"Do you mind interrupting me" I snap at her but instantly feel bad.
"Sorry Duran Duran are more important" she says starring at them.
I look over to my right to see Simon looking our direction then I look back to prilley and she's still looking at him.
"Prilley stop starring it's rude" I whispered
"Oh shit I didn't realise I was starring oops" she admits while going red.
I look back at the Duran boys and see what appears to be John trying to talk to Simon but he doesn't seem to be listening. Then John decides to see what his band mate is looking at, I see him look over and suddenly turn my head to look at the sea.
"Lorna" prilley says through her teeth
"Lorna!!" She says a bit louder because I'm zoned out.
"LORNA!!!" Prilley sort of shout whispered in my ear .I jump and look at her.
"Yeh sorry what" I say calmly
"Look who's looking at you" prilley says with excitement. I look over my shoulder to see John starring at me.
"omg prilley omg"
"You've gone red" she bursts out laughing.
"Shut up I know I can't I feel it, lets just get in the sea" I suggest embarrassed
"Yup let's go" she agrees
We both get up and run into the sea in our bikinis. As we run in we both try not to get our hair wet prilleys hair is platinum blonde and permed where as mine is brown and naturally curly but its straight at the moment.
I look back to the beach and see two guys walking towards our stuff I get out the sea not wanting to worry prilley I just tell her I'm bringing our towels closer. I start running towards our stuff and they notice I'm running towards them so they grab some of our things. I decide to follow them and to my surprise they stop right where the Duran boys are. Oh fuck it's them I catch up with them and I'm so nervous.
"Um excuse me" I say nervously
"Hi" the one i think is Simon says
"I think you've got mine and my best friend April's clothes" I say even more nervous than before because there so much more gorgeous in real life.
"Yeh we have your clothes" the one I'm sure is John says
"Well can I have them back please" I say confused
"Only if you tell us what hotel and room your staying in" Simon confidently says
"And what makes you think I would do that" I say confidently back
"Well we've got your clothes" john says laughing
"True" I say laughing back
"So are you gonna tell us then" John says
"I mean I would tell you but I can't remember what it's called but it's just up from the beach it's kind of closed in by trees and the room is 107, now can I have my clothes" I say impatiently
"Find here you go" John says
"Wait what's your name" John shouts as I'm walking away.
"Oh it's Lorna" I shout back
"That's pretty well I'm John and this is simon" he reply's
"I know" I shout.
As I'm putting our clothes back prilley shouts at me "hurry up"
"Sorry I'm coming" I shout back bringing our towels down.
While I'm running towards the sea it is just hitting realisation that I spoke to John Taylor and Simon le Bon wtf and they asked me for my hotel and room number like what is that supposed to mean. I drop our towels on the sand and jump into the water trying not to get my hair wet. I start swimming towards prilley and have come to the conclusion I'm not going to tell her what happened yet.
"Hey what took you so long" prilley asks me confused.
"Oh I went to check what time it was as well" I say half lying.
"Oh what time is it" she asks
"5:45 pm"
"Omg we should go back to our room and chill out before dinner" she says frantically
"Okay dokey"
We swim back to the sand and dry ourselves off. Prilley and I are walking up to our stuff when I notice that the Duran boys aren't there anymore and I think prilley notices too because she looks upset.
"What's wrong prilley" I say worried
"There gone" she says sounding down
"I'm sure we'll see them around here again"I say trying to cheer her up.
"Maybe" she says back.
Quickly we get back to the hotel and I run to the door open it and jump onto the bed where as prilley gets in the shower.
Laying on my bed I just can't help but think about what John and Simon asked me and whether I should tell prilley or not but I think it's best if I don't tell her.
It's now 6:15 pm and prilley has just got out the shower.
"You alright" she asks me
"Yeh did you have a nice shower" I answer
"I guess it was pretty relaxing" she replied
"That's alright then I'm gonna go have one now" I say walking towards the bathroom.
I get undressed and get in the shower. I can just about make out what song is playing on MTV and it's careless memories by Duran Duran and of course prilley is singing along. Damn why does DD have to come on after what happened today I just want to get it out my head.
"Knock knock"
"Prilley get the door" I say while getting out the shower
"Got it" she shouts
"Hi" a male voice says
Silence...
"Thud!!"
I run out the bathroom in my towel and see Simon standing at the door and prilley passed out on the floor.
"Oh fuck" I mutter
"Is she ok" simon says worried
"Yeh she's just a huge fan" I say embarrassed
"Oh right" he says looking me up and down.
I look down at myself to see what he's looking at and I realise I'm stood here in a towel.
"Omg I'm so sorry I forgot I was standing here in a towel" i say going red
"Oh don't worry I like the view" he winks
I roll my eyes "do you want to come in" I ask
"Well actually my room is next door" he says laughing.
A surprised look seems to come across my face
"Yep, oh and John is opposite you, nick is opposite me and yeh you get the pattern" he says smug
"Oh wow... wait omg does that mean..."
"I heard you and April singing careless memories then yep" he says interrupting me.
"Fuck sake" I moan
"Don't worry we quite enjoyed it" he says laughing
"Well anyways I better get back to my room see ya later" he says walking away.
WTF just happened I'm standing here in my towel while prilley is passed out on the floor while I'm talking to Simon le Bon like honestly can this day get any weirder.
"Ouchhh" prilley groans
"Your awake thank fuck" I say relieved
"What happened"
"You passed out" I say calmly
"Oh that's how I ended up down here" she says confused
"Yup"
"Why tho"
"Because you may or may not have opened the door to Simon le Bon."
"Fuck!" She says going red
Prilley just sits there for a min then gets up. While she's getting ready I decide to slip into a pink figure hugging dress, put on some make up and fluff up my hair.
"Do I look alright" I ask uncertainly
"You look lovely Lorna" she says smiling
"But what do I wear is the question" she frowns
"How about this one"
I hold up a blue figure hugging dress
"OMG YESS! why didn't I think of that" she screams
"I don't know really" I laugh
Both of us are now dressed and ready we grab our purses and head out the room.
