Chaeyeon groaned as the ray of lights strikes to her bare face as she was peacefully sleeping. With her creasing forehead, Chaeyeon rubs her eyes as she carefully opened her orbs, slowly scanning the place.
"Damn...my headaches....where am I?" She grunts, gradually sitting up as she tried to recognize the room. Her eyes slowly bulging out as she realized that she is still in the Elysium.
Chaeyeon quickly leaves her bed and decided to head to the dining place to find her friends, but to her luck, she didn't saw them there instead the servants of the palace greeted her as soon as she set her foot in the place.
She then started to make her way to the entrance of the palace, she might find them there but again, to her luck she only saw her mother with an old man beside her which Chaeyeon couldn't recognize.
The Queen is talking to the guards, it must be serious, so she decided to walk away not wanting to put their attention to them but her mother saw her.
"Daughter, good morning. Where are you going?" The Queen greeted her, smiling softly at her.
"Uhhhh...good morning, mother. I was just finding my friends..." Chaeyeon answered, scratching her nape as she saw how the guards beside her mother widened their eyes after hearing them talking.
"Oh, she is my eldest daughter, Chaeyeon. She is Yujin's older sister." The Queen smiled as she introduced the shy Chaeyeon to the angel around her.
"You grew up so nice and pretty, princess Chaeyeon. I am the Chief in this palace, Chaewon's father." Chief smiled and Chaeyeon's cheeks redden from the sudden honorific she is getting from the old man. But she shook his hands politely, not wanting to get any wrong impressions.
Chaeyeon only smiled awkwardly as she bowed her head to the angels greeting her with full of respect and honor. She looked at her mother with uneasiness since she isn't used to being treated like this, but the Queen smiled at her, conveying through her eyes that it's okay.
"I'll excuse myself, mother. I'm gonna find my friends." Chaeyeon said and the Queen nodded her head, the other angels bowed their head even the Chief as Chaeyeon excused herself and walked towards inside the palace.
She sighed in relief after she successfully excused herself from them. Well, you know, the sudden treatment she is getting from this place is overwhelming her, to the point that it somehow sends awkwardness.
Chaeyeon's feet dragged her to the garden of the palace due to her urge to see her friends, she just wanted to make sure if they are doing well here.
"Woah..." Her jaw dropped after seeing the whole breathtaking view at the garden, it can even send serene in your soul. Butterflies are present and different unknown gorgeous flowers that she sees for the first time give so much calmness to her.
She closed her eyes and inhaled the air, just by that action, this is enough to calm someone's nerves. It's a nice place to think about things.
"Magnificent, right? This is a good place to relax and think about things. You can also spend your time alone here."
Chaeyeon opened her eyes, but then it quickly rounds up after seeing closely Sakura's face smiling softly at her.
"How long have you been here?" Chaeyeon asked in surprise, she stepped back due to their face intimacy.
Sakura chuckles at her expression, "Not that long, just enough, I guess." the short-haired girl answered, then stared at her eyes, making Chaeyeon to stumbles backward but due to it, but her eyes widen two times from earlier when Sakura pulled her closer to her, "Hey, careful, there's a rock behind you." Sakura added while holding still Chaeyeon closer to her.
Not even aware of their intimacy, Sakura is still calm as her eyes are busy observing the rock, unlike Chaeyeon who is panicking inside because of it as her eyes are trailed to the short-haired girl.
"Saku-chan...." Chaeyeon called, trying to get the older girl's attention, so she can escape from Sakura's soft grip. Because if she makes this long, Chaeyeon can feel that her heart will be out of the cage if this intimacy continues, considering how her heart is thumping so fast right now.
She cursed under her breathe when Sakura looked at her after being called, but Chaeyeon's sure right now that her heart can jump out from her chest because their lips are centimeters apart from each other, as their faces are very close.
Both are shocked by their position, each can be seen as a surprising expression in their faces. As both can't deny the fact how their heart screams so loud at this moment they are in right now. As if it would run out from their chest on how fast and loud beating it is.
"Uhhh—...s-sorry..." Sakura quickly removed her hands from Chaeyeon's hand as she also backed away from the younger one.
"Uhh yeah..." Chaeyeon laughed awkwardly, she cleared her throat. It feels so dry after what just happened.
"Yeah...." Sakura chuckles awkwardly, scratching her nape as she roamed her eyes around the garden just like Chaeyeon who is looking everywhere except her, not wanting to show to each other how embarrassed they are.
Because of the awkward incident, both of them fall in silence as they don't know what to say to each other. Unbeknownst to them how also their heart falls from that moment.
"Sorry, again," Chaeyeon cleared her throat, trying to ease the awkwardness. While Sakura bites her lips and slowly tried to glance at Chaeyeon. But she's quick to look away because the younger is already staring at her, causing both of their cheeks to flushed as if they are both caught from doing something wrong.
"Chaeyeon-unnie!"
Chaeyeon looked at Yujin who called her from afar, she sighed in relief for the youngers presence. She can't be thankful enough to Yujin for pulling her from the awkward situation.
"Nice timing." Sakura from the other hand said as she looked at her little sister running towards them. She squinted her eyes when she saw someone behind Yujin, and it was none other than Minjoo.
Chaeyeon waves her hand at the younger angel and to her best friend after finally seeing her familiar face. She quickly went to Minjoo to give her best friend a hug.
"Saku-chan! Nice timing, you are also here!" Yujin greeted as soon as she gets nears to the two of them.
"Why?" Sakura asked blankly, Chaeyeon then frowned at her from the sudden change of mood towards the youngest angel.
"Well, I planned a picnic for us!" Yujin said excitedly,
"Does mother knows?" Sakura asked and Yujin nodded her head. She looked at Sakura and Chaeyeon before looking at Minjoo beside her, "Mother already knows, come on! The others are already there!" Yujin said at them before pulling Minjoo alongside with her.
Sakura creased her forehead as she looked at Yujin and Minjoo going ahead of them.
"Why are they so close like that?" Sakura asked, squinting her eyes when she saw Yujin holds Minjoo's hand and seems like the latter isn't against it.
"Why? You jealous or something?" Chaeyeon asked and Sakura raised her brow as she looks at Chaeyeon, giving frowned expression as if the younger said something absurd.
"Why would I be jealous? I'm just shocked at how they became close to each other just like that." Sakura snorted and Chaeyeon crossed her arm, trying to observe the short-haired girl's expression.
"It's fine. Minjoo is really a popular girl around our university, so I understand if you are jealous because Yujin got her first than you." Chaeyeon stated and it takes everything for Sakura not to raise her brow so high while hearing everything from her.
"What?" Sakura asked, frowning deeper.
"You like her, don't you? Aigoo, it's fine. But, Yujin is already—"
"Seriously, Chaeyeon, where that came from?" Sakura asked, cutting her off.
"Oh...am I wrong? Why are you getting so pressed suddenly?" Chaeyeon asked she blinks her eyes seeing Sakura's poker face.
"' Coz you are seeing that wrong." Sakura scoffed and walks away, leaving Chaeyeon behind.
"What? Then, why are you getting annoyed about seeing their closeness? How can you explain that?" Chaeyeon asked, making Sakura stopped.
"I am not annoyed, I just found it weird because they came so close quickly." Sakura snorted, Chaeyeon glared at her, "what?" She asked.
"Why are you suddenly questioning their closeness? I am really convinced that you like my best friend." Chaeyeon sneered which made Sakura rolled her eyes, she started to walk away from the younger but stopped when Chaeyeon talks again.
"You're not answering, so you do like Minjoo—"
"Gosh, Chaeyeon! I don't like Minjoo! Yes, she is pretty and a nice girl! But it doesn't mean I like her romantically! I like you more than her!" Sakura snapped after so many annoying remarks she got from Chaeyeon. Her eyes widened after she realized what she just said, even Chaeyeon is surprise hearing those statements from her.
Sakura also surprised where the heck that came from.
"I like you as a friend! That's what I mean!" Sakura cleared her throat as the red-tinted color escape her cheeks.
"Yeah, hahaha...that's nice.." Chaeyeon answered awkwardly as she fans herself. Breathing deeply as she tried to calm the fast beating in her chest.
"Let's j-just follow t-them..." Sakura muttered and walks faster than Chaeyeon, trying to escape from the awkward situation, once again.
The same with Chaeyeon who only nodded her head, trying to dismiss the mere disappointment in her chest from Sakura's words, as both of them walks quietly to follow Minjoo and Yujin.
"Are you two sick?" Hyewon asked them, the moment she and Chaeyeon reached their place.
"No," Sakura answered timidly before walking to the blanket that they placed on the grass.
"But why are you two so red?" Hyewon asked again, Eunbi scolded her from her bluntness but she only smiled at her, Sakura looked at Chaeyeon, the same way the girl looked at her way. Both of them looked away after a small second of a glance.
"What's with this?" Hyewon muttered, she looked at Sakura who is crossing her arms as a blank expression is written on her face, then to Chaeyeon who has still this red color on her cheeks.
"You don't happen to kiss, don't you?" Hyewon suddenly asked which causes the two to whipped their head towards her.
"No! Why would we kiss?!" Sakura asked, her eyes squinting to her while Chaeyeon has her eyes bulging out from the sudden question.
"Okay? Chill...why are you so pressed..." Hyewon chuckles as she just helped Minjoo and Yujin on picking up some fruits with Yena levitating on the air while throwing it to them after picking up from the branch.
Chaeyeon then followed them, leaving Sakura and Eunbi alone.
Sakura can only watch Chaeyeon's action from her place.
"You like her, don't you?" Eunbi suddenly blurted out, she looked at the other angel before pursing her lips.
"Do I?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah, it's obvious. Well, you did like her and you are still liking her. And if your memories came back, you would know that you don't just like her, you love her a lot." Eunbi muttered the last part, making the short-haired girl glance at her before looking back at Chaeyeon.
"Yeah, I do." Sakura chuckles, "Bet you saw what happened earlier. I mean, through your precognition." She added Eunbi nodded her head as a confirmation.
"But, what's weird....is, the first time I saw her in the human world, I was...I don't know...enchanted by her." Sakura confessed, she hasn't told anyone about it but it's true that the first time she saw Chaeyeon, there is something about the girl that pulled Sakura, from those eyes, the short-haired girl can't be helped but to think about Chaeyeon.
She was in Sakura's mind, truth be told, after their first encounter, she can't help but think of her. And oh, how lucky of it when Sakura met Chaeyeon at their restaurant and the other angel started living with them, what a fate.
"Just like before." Eunbi chuckles at her.
"Before? Are you saying that I am also charmed by her before?" Sakura asked, Eunbi only grinned at her not bothering to give her the answer.
Sakura could only stare at Chaeyeon throughout their picnic which is planned by Yujin. They are laughing and talking with each other as if they are not going to fight with someone powerful.
But something caught her eyes, "where's Chaewon and Yuri?"
"Oh, she was asked by the Queen and Yuri, I don't know with that weird one," Yena answered which leaves Sakura nodding her head before she continues listening to Yujin's rants.
Sakura was also about to pick up the fruit but she stopped when she saw Hyewon smiling while staring at someone, she raised her brows as she followed Hyewon's sight.
She blinks her eyes after it landed on Chaeyeon who is laughing with Yujin, alongside Minjoo.
There's something that Sakura can't comprehend on the way Hyewon is looking at Chaeyeon. But she can comprehend what she is feeling on her chest as she watched the scene, where Hyewon pulled Chaeyeon closer to her because Minjoo throws a fruit on her.
But she stopped on her trance when she glances at Eunbi and saw her staring at Hyewon with a smile on her face.
"So, you like my best friend." Sakura blurted and Eunbi glances at her before looking back smiling to Hyewon.
"I don't just like her," Eunbi confessed.
Sakura already knows and understands the situation. She sighed, the way that Yujin looks at Minjoo with pure fondness, it's the same way how Eunbi looked at Hyewon and the way Hyewon looked at Chaeyeon.
"They've fallen deeper for someone else and me, I keep falling for you," Sakura muttered under her breathing while staring at Chaeyeon, who happened to look at her way before sending a smile to her.
...
"Unnie, are you sure you don't want to eat?"
Chaewon smiled timidly before gesturing to Wonyoung to keep eating and stop minding her.
"I'm fine, go on," Chaewon answered she smiled softly while watching the other girl.
"I'm glad I saw you here, I can't contact my unnies after our break started. They are really enjoying the break, hmp." Wonyoung pouted, she blushed when Chaewon wipes her mouth with a tissue.
"They're not enjoying it." Chaewon answered plainly, the younger girl looked at her with confusion, "I mean, I bet they can enjoy it more if you are with them." she added.
"I see. But well, it's fine, we are enjoying the break with our families. I just missed them, I'm only seeing Hiichan except them, even Nako is busy with her vacation on Hawaii." Wonyoung grunted.
"Are you and Hiichan doing good?" Chaewon suddenly asked.
"Yes, why did you asked?"
"You don't happen to feel that someone is following you around, right?" Chaewon asked again, she needs to be sure that Lucifer isn't involving Chaeyeon's human friends. And for other reasonreasonsshe wants to get assured that they aren't in danger.
"No one. I am not even a celebrity, so why would someone followed me?" Wonyoung chuckles, though she is getting suspicious of Chaewon's question. Seems like the other girl is hiding something from her.
"You looked like a celebrity to me." Chaewon compliments and again, Wonyoung's blushing from her blunt nature.
Chaewon just smiling while watching Wonyoung rants and eats at the same time, sometime she will chuckle at how adorable the younger one is. The smile never left her face just by listening to Wonyoung.
"Unnie, why are you looking at me like that? I know I am pretty and adorable." Wonyoung chuckles as she siped her coca-cola.
"' Coz you're too irresistible." Chaewon blurted out, Wonyoung's eyes widened and her cheeks slowly blushed from the unexpected words.
"You are too irresistible to the point that I can't keep myself from watching you every time that I have the chance to. I don't know, but the moment I saw you at the restaurant Wonyoung, you caught my attention which was never happened before." Chaewon talks in her mind, leaving Wonyoung with confusion because the older one isn't talking but her eyes are conveying things.
"Unnie?" Wonyoung called.
"I just love seeing you." Chaewon blurted out and again Wonyoung is redder than earlier.
"T-Thank y-you?" Wonyoung laughs awkwardly before she continues sipping her drink, not bothering to look at the older girl.
"Where are you going?" Wonyoung asked after Chaewon stands up, the older smiled at her before ruffling her hair.
"Home. See you around, go home safely Wonyoung-ah." Chaewon smiled as she started to walk but the younger girl called her name causing her to stop.
"Unnie, if we see each other the next time, I'll treat you to lunch. You can't say no, okay?" Wonyoung beamed happily, Chaewon also smiled from it, it was too contagious that she can't help but also to smile.
"Is that the human way of asking someone to date?" Chaewon asked and Wonyoung's cheeks redden more, she only looked away before nodding her head.
"Sure, next time."
"Promise?" Wonyoung asked.
"I promise," Chaewon answered and left Wonyoung alone at the convenience store, beaming widely.
Chaewon stopped on her tracks after she saw Yuri standing in front of her.
"You really followed me here, don't you?" Chaewon asked before walking again, Yuri just shrugged and looked at the convenience store where Wonyoung is sitting.
"Kinda, you might come back up, so..." Yuri answered.
"Stop looking at her, will you?" She sneered when the other angel keeps on looking at Wonyoung even if they are walking away from the store.
"Fine, such a jealous ass." Yuri chuckles.
"I am not, I just don't want her to find it weird," Chaewon answered.
"Have you told her?" Yuri asked.
"What? My feelings for her? I did subtly. I hope she gets it." Chaewon chuckles but stopped when Yuri is raising her brow at her.
"I mean, have you told her that you aren't a human but an angel who shouldn't be around the human world —" Yuri got cut off when Chaewon made a dimension to went to Elysium, the younger only followed her and scoffed.
"Where are they?" Chaewon asked one of the guards and after getting an answer, she walks to the place and saw the angels having a good time.
"Ya! You haven't answered my question!" Yuri shouted at her, getting Sakura and the other angel's attention.
"Chaewon! Come here, let's eat!" Sakura called her and Chaewon followed as what she was told, ignoring Yuri who only walks towards Hyewon and started to annoy the older angel.
"Where have you been?" Sakura asked as soon as she sits beside the older angel.
"Uhhhhh..." Chaewon scratched her nape and from that, Sakura already knows.
"So...it was her," Sakura muttered, pertaining to Wonyoung, she knew it since Eunbi told her about Chaewon's feelings towards the younger girl.
"Yeah...I just want to see her..." Chaewon muttered and Sakura ruffles her hair.
"You're not mad that I went to the human world?" Chaewon asked and Sakura shook her head.
"I can't be mad at you. Just be careful." The short-haired girl answered back and Chaewon smiled at her.
"So, how did it go? Did you tell her about what you feel?" Sakura asked, looking at Yuri who is now annoying Yena before glancing at Chaewon.
"I did, but not directly. I just hope she gets it." Chaewon chuckles and Sakura nodded her head.
"Does she knows about you being not a human?" Sakura asked and when Chaewon didn't talk, she already knew the answer.
"Chae, you are aware that human and angel will never be meant together," Sakura muttered.
She just sighed because she is the ady aware form it, Chaewon knows that it's impossible for humans and angels to be together, so, she is clearly aware that she and Wonyoung can't happen. It's forbidden.
Angels shouldn't fall in love with a human.
"I know. So, I didn't bother to tell what I am. Since I won't even stay in the human world." Chaewon stated before looking at Sakura with those sad eyes, "But, you know, Kkura-chan...it's a waste because when I read her mind....she feels the same for me." Chaewon stated before sighing.
Sakura's mouth formed with an O, she looked at everyone who is secretly listening to them while Chaewon's head hanging low.
"It's a shame that we feel the same way but we can't be together." Chaewon chuckles sadly, as an image of a girl from her dreams or what Hyewon told her that is from her memories, it's slowly becoming clearer and she smiled sadly when Wonyoung's face showed up from her memories.
"It was her all along...the human that I grew feelings with since years ago." Chaewon sighed.
...
After their picnic, all of them decided to go inside the palace and rest in their own room since their energy was almost drain because of how they play and go round the whole pond.
Yujin is still glued with Minjoo, while Chaeyeon is beside them, talking happily while holding their basket.
Yena and Yuri are still bickering with Hyewon beside them who can be seen with annoyance in her face. Sakura can feel that Hyewon is close to throwing the fruit she is holding to the two.
And at the back, she, Chaewon and Eunbi are walking quietly as they were following them.
Sakura sighed that made the two to looked at her.
"We are all so fucked up." Sakura chuckles, how can fate play like this?
"Yeah, fate is a good player." Eunbi chuckles, Chaewon looked at the two older girls as she tried to guess what they are talking about.
The moment she looked at Eunbi, the girl is looking at Hyewon who is now beside Chaeyeon, and when she looked at Sakura, she is already looking at Chaeyeon.
"Don't tell me...you..." Chaewon started and pointed at Eunbi, "You like Chaeyeon?"
"And you...like Hyewon?" Chaewon pointed to Sakura who is raising her brow at her.
"Kid, you shuffled it. I like Hyewon." Eunbi said bluntly but in her low voice not wanting them to hear her.
"Ohhhhhhh....so you like her..." Chaewon's jaw dropped while looking at the nodding Sakura when she pointed at Chaeyeon.
"How fast," Chaewon muttered as they continue walking.
"Sakura, what would you do if you knew that Hyewon really likes Chaeyeon?" Eunbi asked which made Sakura stopped on her tracks.
Yeah, what would she do? She doesn't know since she is still weighing things if Hyewon really feels something about Chaeyeon. But upon seeing how Hyewon acts towards Chaeyeon, she can already conclude the idea of her best friend liking Chaeyeon.
"I don't know. Say Eunbi, what would you do if Hyewon likes Chaeyeon?" Sakura asked back and Eunbi only chuckles before shrugging.
"I don't know too." Eunbi sighed.
"Let's see what will happen, if you will do what you did like before, after knowing what Hyewon really feels for Chaeyeon," Eunbi muttered.
"What was that?" Sakura asked when Eunbi whispered incoherent words. The latter shrugged before walking first and made her way to Yena and Yuri who keeps bickering.
"You, what will you do with the human?" Sakura suddenly asked to Chaewon.
"I promised her that we will see each other, she'll treat me," Chaewon answered and Sakura nodded her head.
"Then after that?" Sakura asked.
"That would be the last time I'll be seeing her. Maybe, I'll tell her what really I am." Chaewon uttered which made Sakura stopped from walking.
"Are you sure?" Sakura asked she sighed when Chaewon nodded her head.
She can only Chaewon's back after the other angel spilled words that also hurt her inside.
"Yes. I can't let what she have for me gets deeper because we both know, we don't even have the chance to be together."
