summary: This is the tododeku story which inspired this book uwu. Basically, an aged up Todoroki travels back to the second year of UA and immediately grows attached to the sixteen-year-old Midoriya. (ah I should mention Shoto is seventeen) From his "universe"/"time", it took a lot for Shoto and Deku to discover their feelings for each other and he went back in order to smack some sense into his younger self. He regrets what happened in his world and wants to spend as much time with Deku before going back, which affects the younger icyhot more than he'd like to admit.

warnings: pining x10, fluff, angst and smut (?)

MIDORIYA POV (? also kinda third-person idk)

I tapped my foot idly against the cold pavement as I waited for Sho-san and Uraraka to finish up taking measurements of the room. Ever since yesterday they seemed to have cosied up to each other and even though it's only been a day since I've met the older version of my best friend, I think I have too.
Mina's already waiting in the car, a red honda kindly lent to us by Mic sensei once he caught wind of the time traveller. I slide into the passenger seat to leave some space for the girls at the back, hiding a small smile as Uraraka takes her place next to Mina, animately discussing carpet textures and colour combos.

To my surprise, Shoto sits on the driver seat to my side and revvs the engine slightly, pulling out swiftly from the small garage. A smile makes it's way to my face and I can't help teasing him for what felt like the fifth time that day.

"Ooo so bad boy can drive?"
Shoto smiled widely and turned his head for a fraction of a second before looking into my eyes. "Yes, bad boy can drive, babe"
The conversation in the backseat stopped suddenly before restarting again full force, giggles and hushed whispers included.

The drive to the mall was silent enough, I couldn't help but glance at the older man whenever I had the chance - his eyes held softer steel to those cold ones I knew from my younger classmate. Clouded confusion filled my thoughts once again and I looked away.

~

I'm gonna kill Mina.
That's it. I have it all planned out and everything.

My extremely pink classmate decided that leaving me alone with Sho-san was not only a good idea, but that it should be played out immediately as we got into the store. Her hands pushed me further into the table isle of IKEA and Shoto skipped happily behind her, ecstatic at the sudden turn of events. Uraraka grabbed hold of her arm and lightly dragged her away, hiding a smile herself as Mina waved enthusiastically. "I'LL CALL YOU WHEN WE HAVE TO LEaveeeeee" her voice faded away sadly.

Reaching out to take my phone off of silent, I looked up to see Sho-san enthusiastically inspecting a white nightstand. I walked closer, unknowingly walking into the range of conversation of a young couple in what looked to be their early twenties.

"I'd fuck you against that coffee table any day, honey."
I stopped abruptly in my tracks and let out the loudest laugh I possibly could've. The embarrassed couple scurried away, leaving a cackling Izuku to writhe on the floor. The heterochromatic boy seemed to catch on quite quickly and lent out a hand to the greenette so they could continue their studious shopping. As a result, it was filled with jokes and hidden innuendos that had the pair in tears.

By the time Mina finally called, Izuku had been shoved in a shopping cart and was speeding down the empty aisle with nothing but a reckless driver egging him on. Unfortunately, the loud ringtone blaring what sounded like an old p!atd song startled Shoto into stumbling on his feet, falling headfirst into the cart before his feet dangled from the top dangerously. The cart swung and scraped against a wall before coming to a sudden stop, twisting Todoroki's foot in a painful tango against cement. All that remained was the sad tune of the song itself, busting out a sad "I roam the city in a shopping car-" before Izu picked it up, stopping the karma-induced chorus halfway through.

Breathless, my voice came out raspy and amused "Yeassh?"
Mina paused before answering. "Hey, we're outside, Broccoli-head. You guys coming?"
The reply came out sadder and somewhat hushed "Y-yeassh :("

I clicked on the tempting red button and hung up the call before slipping the phone back into my jean pocket. My eyes met a dishevelled Todoroki cradling his foot between two hands, softly dousing heat and cold like the everloving cream he so resembled. We took a moment before bursting into conjoined laughter, grabbing once more the attention of the lamp aisle we had sped into.

After putting the cart back in place and heading to the meet spot, I slipped a scarred hand coyly in Shoto's slightly bigger one, blushing and avoiding his gaze. He gave what he must've thought was an alluring smirk, but ended up coming out like an overjoyed puppy's, which made my heart soar. As soon as the girls came into view, I slipped my hand off his grip and tried to ignore how his eyes flared up in defiance.

Jamming ourselves back into the cramped car, Uraraka shouted at us briefly about the lack of nightstand we were meant to buy Shoto and after one lighthearted joke about how I could be his one night stand, we were off. Driving proved to be hard with the hefty amount of throw pillows and comforters blocking the view from the back window, so our group wasn't even close to half surprised when red and blue lights shone at us from behind.

Sho-san's eyes widened like saucers and he looked over at me, lip tucked harshly between his teeth. A small gasp from the backseat led to my equal realization and I came through to something critical. "You don't have your drivers license yet?!"

The way he hung his head in shame made me want to scream.
"Todoroki! Why didn't you say something before?" Mina spoke up.
"I'm seventeen! I thought you guys knew!"

The conversation was cut short with a small knock on the window and my heart seemed to shove its way up my throat.
"License and Registration, please." Shoto finished rolling the window down and the cop took a step back before shaking his hands in front of himself rapidly.
"You guys are the kids from the sports festival! M-my daughter loves you guys! Calls herself your wife and everything!!" Todoroki blushed furiously and nodded, avoiding as much eye contact as humanly possible before his flames rear up.
The police officer ended up giving Shoto a speeding ticket, which he cheekily signed and gave back to the officer. To my everloving surprise, he accepted this and shoved it back into his pocket for his daughter, nodding his head and speedwalking back to his car.

Todoroki took his time starting the car back up, breathless and surprised for the second time that day. He took my hand and put it on the control stick, enveloping his own atop mine. We stayed like that until the UA building came into view once more, and decorating the room was a hassle happily carried out by the girls.

~~~
By the time it was done and over, his room was pink and sparkly and Shoto was nowhere to be seen. Still limping from the earlier shopping cart accident, he made his way outside for whatever business he had with Dabi and Shigaraki. I guess I shouldn't be surprised he's finally carrying out what he came here for, but it feels somewhat lonely without him-
Especially since he's been gone for the past three days.
THIRD PERSON POV
By the time Shoto came back into the UA building, it was raining outside and his limp was ever-so-prominent. Despite this, he held a relieved smile on his face at having patched things up, knowing he'd stopped the LOV from carrying out one of the riskier nomu-involved plans. He couldn't be happier knowing he might have saved his future universe and held mutilated excitement to see if he'd fixed anything with his own Izuku.
Walking into the UA building, the stars outside shone brightly, masking the late evening. A small greenette was almost asleep on a dorm couch, the last one standing after a rowdy movie night with his friends. New blankets wrapped around him cosily and he held the softest of smiles.
The older male turned towards the kitchen and poured himself some cereal to try and replenish his sad appetite. On his way to the milk cupboard, his bad foot -now close to healed- bumped into the corner of a chair, making it teeter dangerously before slamming on its four legs again. Unfortunately, the sound alone was enough to wake up the dozing greenette and Shoto was once again cursing his luck.
"S-sho?" the timid voice spoke up hopefully.
"Yeah it's me, cupcake"
To his dismay, Izuku burst out laughing holding the bridge of his nose tentatively with the tips of his fingers. "I don't know a Sho Cupcake!"
The heterochromatic boy snorted and stalked his way forwards, startling Midoriya. As soon as it looked like Shoto was going to sit far from him on the big couch, he opened up his blankets in invitation. Immediately, the boy got up and tucked himself against the greenette, softly pulling the boy against him. Izuku held no complaints and lightly lay his own head on the inviting shoulder conveniently placed next to him.
Todoroki could only wish his younger self was here to see this and finally slap out of the internalized homophobia he set out for himself.
He knew he wanted this and it wouldn't be around to wait for him forever.
A new movie played, and the pair was happy to watch the female lead punch a handsy paedophile to the ground. "MAD WOMAN" the initial credits rolled. Superhero or villain was unclear, but the show in itself was entertaining enough. The seemingly happy atmosphere turned sickly half an hour in - having received a phone call from a sketchy number, the protagonist was now alone in what looked to be a haunted house.
Oh how Midoriya hated haunted houses.
"Serve justice?! All heroes should burn to the ground!" the inside walls screeched. Despite being only a show, the young boy was wrapped entirely up in the screen and he held onto Shoto desperately, burying his head in a well-defined chest. "kill! kill! kill!" the screen panned out to show a huge clown at the end of a spirally hallway, equipped with a running chainsaw and dripping red makeup.
Izuku stared on in horror as the superhero was caught by the leg, not getting to see the end of the movie before a caught-up Shoto turned the screen to black. Izuku turned to look at the boy next to him, remote in hand. "You were getting a little too frantic, bunny boy. Couldn't have you having a heart attack on my watch."
In turn, the boy scrunched his nose and crossed both arms across his chest, tempting the older Todoroki greatly.
Turning half a head to the clock on the wall, Shoto jumped up and tugged Midoriya up too, starting to lead them toward the dorm elevator.
"C-can you come w-with me Sho-san?"
Said Sho-san smiled greatly and nodded his head, secretly overjoyed at the first pick of a scary movie. Still holding hands, they made their way up via elevator, revelling in soft but comfortable silence. Once they reached Izuku's door, even the greenette seemed reluctant to walk in. Shoto barely took in the sound of faint footsteps on the floor below before his attention was on Midoriya once more, staring temptingly into the whirlpools in his eyes.
It took him a second to realize Izuku was doing the same before he spoke up, smooth lips moving alluringly.
"Can I kiss you, Izuku?"
Breathless and uneven came the boy's reply. "Y-yes."
Wasting little to no time, the older male softly laid his lips atop the waiting pink ones. He was close to letting go but was stopped by the Greenette's strong hand pulling him down by the neck, keeping him in place. The kiss soon turned passionate and both of them were soaring in heaven.
Todoroki was about to pull away, opening one eye slightly before he caught sight of a blue sleeve almost hidden on the corridor next to them.
His. His old blue pyjama sleeve.
And it all clicked.
On that split second, Shoto realized his younger self had gone looking for Izukuto bring him up to bed. Not knowing his older counterpart had returned tonight, he'd been those footsteps downstairs that Shoto failed to make something out of. Todoroki must've gone up to check on Midoriya's room and found this intimate display.
Oh how Shoto was gonna teach him a lesson or two.
Knowing Todoroki was hidden but watching the both of them, Shoto leaned in further and deepened the kiss. Izuku let out a strangled whine and intertwined his hands in the soft red and white hair. Shoto broke this kiss to instead trail down Izuku's neck to his collarbone. "Is this okay?" Sho could barely wait to hear the reply. "Don- Don't you dare stop now."
Shoto licked and bit at the sensitive skin there before trailing soft kisses back up to the greenette's lips. This time the kiss was desperate and violent, catching them both out of breath. On one final attempt to smack his younger self into realization, the dual boy raised a knee slightly to part between Izuku's legs, pressing softly. Izuku turned his head back and screwed his eyes shut in what could only be described as pure ecstasy.
"S-shoto!" his voice trailed in a loud moan. The latter pulled away to stare into the greenette's eyes, happily taking in the dishevelled look. Saliva glistened on his lips and it took everything in his willpower not to embrace them again.
Izuku went up on his tiptoes, still oblivious to the younger Todoroki hidden away, and kissed Shoto's cheek softly.
"I'll talk to you tomorrow." One lopsided smile later, the young boy was back to being safely tucked into his dorm.
Shoto leisurely strolled up to the hallway Todoroki was hiding in, passing him with a triumphant smirk. Too dumbfounded to notice or care, Todoroki was left alone in the hallway to wonder what about that whole encounter had given him a boner.
-And sure, it may or may not have been Izuku airily moaning out his given name that made his toes curl inwards.
Todoroki shuffled back into his room for the night, thinking everything over. He remembered walking upstairs, stopping curtly at the sound of his own voice. Next thing he knew, his older counterpart was getting everything he ever wished for a mere week after coming. How pathetic am I? The mere thought of having Midoriya up against the wall like that himself gave him goosebumps, 'roki realized it was about time for him to wake up and realize he was in love with the adorable greenette.
He sure wanted to slap himself after coming to the conclusion.
The lingering touches, soft-spoken words and late nights waiting for him after his jogs made so much sense. Izuku had been pining over him for years and the dumbass was only now realizing.
So what? Now all he had to do was get his greenette back.
A/N
Do i love this chapter or do i hate it smh someone answer for me.
ALSO SHOULD I MAKE AN EPILOGUE OR DO YALL WANT JUST AN ENDING?
I have a bunch to think about before writing an ending because I could either be really nice or really mean >:)
But yeah keep in mind the next chapter will most likely be the last one bbs.
Also have to add writing a kissing scene instead of doing homework rn is extremely fun.
